Dance was ok. My daughter enjoyed it. Reasonable priced. My daughter went for ballet class here. This place is really disgusting. Owner doesnt even clean the seating area. See pictures. Check yourself. Floor is also similar. I pity on kids who sits on the floor and have some snacks. Every class has a few minutes break. However I never let my daughter sat down. After her first class at Dance Concepts, she had a little coughing. After 2 days, myself and my wife tested positive for covid. This was the only place we went out. So we were 100% sure it was dance concept, sandy. Also one of the parent whose kid was dressed differently told me that his kid is not participating in stage performance, so teacher was treating her differently. If youre enrolling your kids here, ask them to clean and maintain hygienic environment. Also talk about $$. Dont make same mistake that I made. Never enrolling my kids here.
I have two daughters dancing at Dance Concepts currently and have loved it here! The teachers are engaging to my littlest and challenge my oldest. It’s a very good balance of good, fun hard work. My oldest loves to tumble as well so I like that we can go to one studio for dance and a tumbling class. Both my girls have made friends at the studio and I have fun at the studio watching them dance and chatting with the other parents in the lobby. Great studio with awesome teachers!
My 10-year-old loves the hip-hop classes. Very reasonably priced.
Im one of the dancers there and that place is awesome. They have some of the most friendliest dancers there. I love their teachers too. And I would recommend this to anyone. I myself may put my kids in dance here someday.
My daughter has been going to Dance Concepts for 6 years now. She loves every minute of it. The owner (Erica) and ALL of the instructors are professional and want what is best for the kids. My daughter can go to any of them with any issues she has (school, boys, parents, dancers) they are always their for her. The relationships my daughter and even myself that we have gotten from Dance Concepts are amazing and I am so glad we have this experience in our lives. We are like family. Erica has helped us through some tough times and she just wants what is best for everyone. She is very giving and we love her dearly. My daughter has worked very hard for where she is. And I cant wait to see where she goes from here.We luv DC!!If you are thinking of dancing you should check us out.
I LOVE DANCE CONCEPTS!!! Everyone there is so nice. I love all the people there and being able to learn fun dances. I love all of the teachers and I have so many friends at Dance Concepts. Dance Concepts is awesome and I recommend it to everyone!!
I’ve been dancing at Dance Concepts for 5 years and it’s been amazing. The teachers and owner have been so amazing, there always there for me and the other students for anything inside and outside the studio. Everyone there has become a second family to me and I’m so glad I choose to come here.
Having looked at several studios before choosing Dance Concepts, Ive never regretted that decision! ! DC has been a wonderful place for my daughter to grow, not only as a dancer, but a person as well. I genuinely feel that the teachers here care about her, and the rest of our family.I love that DC has only adult instructors! This was a HUGE pull for me. Knowing that my daughter would always be working with adults gave me more confidence that everyone instructing her was properly trained. I have been so impressed with the competition team experience as well. My daughter has so much passion for her dancing and competition gave her a better outlet to express that. She never tires of the work involved. She always is smiling, and I credit that to the Dance Concepts family. They dont leave anyone out or make anyone feel like they arent an important part of the team.I recommend Dance Concepts anytime someone is looking does dance school locally! If youre looking, come check them out, you wont regret it! !
I started Dance Concepts when I was about 8 years old. The studio I went to before was nothing what a studio should be like. But after being at Dance Concepts for 9 years I can say its everything a studio should be. Professional instructors, who also are friendly and want the best for each and every one of their students. Dance Concepts has become a second family to me. Especially my teammates, they have become sisters to me and we work so well together. Dancing is not always about winning, but it is about a special bond between those who love to dance, and you will most definitely feel that special bond here at Dance Concepts! Thanks for all the memories and amazing times!
I LOVE DC!!! they’re the best and they’re my second family!!! i wish i has dance everyday and every time class is over, i get so sad because i love it so much❤️
Worst studio ever! 1 star is too generous but I had to express my discontent somehow! Owner thinks she is still in middle/high school and acts like it! If you want your child to compete on a team that is well coached and organized this is not for you! Girls that Erica (the owner) likes are given special treatment and allowed to be lazy and not held accountable! She is more concerned with who is blocking who on social media than teaching children to dance! She tells the children that they should not try out for drill team/dance company because they will lose their technique, instead of encouraging children to dance and try to earn scholarships. This studio is a COMPLETE JOKE!! You cant even have a conversation with Erica if there is any sort of uncomfortable discussion to be had because she will just avoid the issue! She chooses to address the issues with the group and alienate children, while avoiding the parents. If you have any expectations as a parents then Erica thinks you are a crazy dance mom and will vocalize that in front of your child and the rest of team! Please, for your own sanity, do not send your child to this studio!!
I want to share my disappointment with this school, it is the first time I hear of a school turning down a student for not being ready to dance yet. My child is 3 years old and this was the first time she has ever attended any dance class, she was so thrilled and excited, she followed the instructors instructions and tried her best all the 3 classes she attended (I recorded, so proud I was of my little girl). And today I got a call from the school owner saying she was dropping my kid from class because she wasn’t READY TO START DANCE CLASSES YET... I felt so hurt and disappointed I didn’t know what to say.... it really is a shame.. I’m sure I will find a place that will take pride in teaching kids to became great at what they love to do.. dance and be happy!!
We have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Dance Concepts. The very first time I called asking about dance classes for my 2 daughters, Erica the owner spent an hour and a half on the phone going over everything with me. I go both girls in the classes they needed. A year later Erica noticed my oldest daughter needed to be challenged more. We moved her a level up in ballet and jazz and she has been thriving. Both my girls adore Erica and their dance teachers. The enthusiasm the staff provides encourages my daughters to be excited to dance and want to come every week. The positive peer pressure from Erica and the teachers help my girls as they make good life choices. The experience and knowledge that they learn from Dance Concepts helps them in all aspects of life. I highly recommend this dance studio.
They say that they have classes for 2 year olds yet, kicked out my child because she was too little. I brought my girl because her cousin is enrolled there and it was bring your friend to dance day. They should have accounted for there being young inexperienced dancers and made it more of a fun free dance day not a day where they worked on their dance for a recital. I was hoping to enroll my daughter, but I will go somewheres else.
My 3 year old daughter loves her teachers, she tells me after every class. Everyone is really nice, and she seems to have fun in class- thats all that really matters to me.
Ive been dancing at Dance Concepts for 5 years and its such an amazing studio. The staff is so awesome and caring! My teammates have become my best friends and everyone at Dance Concepts is a family. Ive grown so much as a dancer here and I wouldnt go to any other studio!
If you are in the business of running a business it would be to your advantage to treat your paying customers with respect. This does not require that you like everyone that comes through your door, but it does require that you provide the service they are paying for. That service, in this instance, is dance instruction. It is not speaking rudely, or in an unkind manner about your paying customers and students. As a business owner there will be times uncomfortable conversations will occur, but as that business owner you are required to make sure YOUR behavior is above reproach so that you can maintain respectable and paying clientele. It would be in your best interest to remember the dancer and mother you ridiculed in a public forum have paid a great deal of money to you over the course of years of instruction. The dancer has won many trophies and accolades for her dance ability which has afforded your studio much recognition. You have been a benefactor of the that dancer and her mother. You in turn took that professional and symbiotic relationship and ruined it. You shattered the trust any young girl should have in an instructor. You ruined a loved hobby and skill. You stole that from a child. As a business owner specializing in assisting children, you should be ashamed of yourself. I would never trust you or your staff with children. They are far to precious to break in such a deplorable and public manner.
We love Dance Concepts! I have a 5 year old who has danced here for 2 years now and I have never once had to force her to go. She loves her teachers, the atmosphere of the studio, the recitals, everything. She has learned so much even at her young age. As a parent I appreciate the professionalism of all the teachers and staff. I especially love the recitals that are extremely efficient and kept the parents time in mind. They are broken down into 2 different performances so you spend less time watching all the other dances and more time with your dancer! All around, weve been very happy and grateful for this studio.
My daughters have been dancing with this studio for the last 5 years. Anytime I have had a problem (which has been rare and minor) the teachers and owner have worked with me to resolve the issue quickly. my girls enjoy the classes and the friendships. competition is always fun. I love this studio because its not pretentious. theres no aire of superiority. the teachers are skilled and knowledgeable. everyone there is approachable and easy to communicate with. we moved 30 minutes away and instead of switching to the dance studio across the street from my new house we chose to stay with dance concepts because they have become more than just dance teachers, theyre our extended dance family. I almost forgot, my fellow dance moms, Ive never been with a more supportive, friendly, easy going group of ladies!
My three year old was also dropped from Dance Concepts this week due to being too young. She had moved up from the two year old class to this three year old class on the guidance of the school, so it is very confusing. She has also been attending a dance class and preschool at Utah Dance Center. She has no problems following the high quality experienced teachers there. I highly recommend them as they are prepared and wanting to teach three year olds and beyond. I am very disappointed in Dance Concepts, but Im glad she is no longer there.
My daughter has been going here for 2 years now. I love it. Her teachers have been amazing I really feel like my daughter is important to them, she not just another student. Recently my daughter tried out for the dance team, my daughter got super nervous once we got to the studio ND her teacher wasnt right there. The owner of the studio got down on her lvl and told her she was going to do just fine and that it was going to be a lot of fun, and her teacher was waiting for her up stairs. I was seriously amazed that in all the chaos of tryouts Erica noticed my daughter and took the time to help make her comfortable. This is a fantastic studio!
My daughter has danced at Dance Concepts for 4 years. I cant imagine dancing anywhere else. Erica hires excellent teachers and front desk staff. We love Dance Concepts and have not had a single bad experience.
I danced with Dance Concepts for years, and havent had a better experience dancing anywhere else. The staff is caring and attentive - the teachers know more than just their students names but how to help them as a dancer. In addition to learning different styles of dance and preparing pieces for recitals and competitions, we also made lasting friendships and learned more about ourselves. This is an environment for all ages of dancers with clean and appropriate music and costumes and a small student to teacher ratio. An excellent studio full of amazing people.
Ive been dancing here for about 9 years and i love it! Best staff. Wouldnt dance anywhere else but here.
Dance Concepts is the best place i think teachers are really nice. I love this place. I really recemend.
I have had my oldest daughter going to Dance Concepts for 6 years and I refuse to look into any other company. They have modest costumes and the dance moves have not left me or my daughter feeling uncomfortable in any way. When my youngest daughter wanted to start, I had no issues with this because of what I had witnessed, but also because of the family environment that is shown by all the staff there. They REALLY care about the students there and show it in the interactions with them. My son has also taken hip hop there and loves it. With all of this, plus the professionalism that is shown at this studio, you cannot go wrong. I highly recommend to everyone!
I appreciate that the Dance Concepts team uses modest costumes for their recitals. With two recitals a year, the students have ample opportunity to showcase what theyve learned, and all of the teachers provide the kids with a fun, enthusiastic environment.
Weve been with Dance Concepts for four years. Its not terrible, but its not great either. The staff is very unprofessional. Since my daughter is young, I have spent many hours in the waiting area observing the staff and the interactions that they have with students of all ages. One of my daughters teachers wore pajamas to class, and Im quite sure they had been slept in. She spent the majority of the class looking at herself in the mirror. I heard another teacher tell a teenage student, Even if your mother is wrong, pretend shes right so shell give you what you want. I have seen that same teacher sit around gossiping and acting like a teen herself in the waiting area. Dance teachers are often heroes to young girls and boys and I would say that only a couple that I have met or seen actually set a good example in the way that they dress, communicate, and conduct themselves at the studio.I have been a piano teacher for over 15 years and have owned my own preschool for six years. I understand what kind of professionalism should go into working with children and teenagers. Dance Concepts does not offer it. You can be an excellent dancer but that wont make you an excellent teacher. I feel like the 5 or so teachers we have worked with have been, on average, mediocre instructors. They do just what needs to be done in class and not much more. My daughter had a wonderful teacher last year but she did not choose to return to DC again this year. The recitals are also quite unprofessional. No dress rehearsal is done and the costumes are ridiculously high priced. Also, my daughters holiday recital choreography was nearly the same as a younger class that had the same teacher. Even my husband noticed, which is saying a lot.Overall, we feel that our daughter has had an okay introduction to dance but are now looking to step it up a bit and go with a studio that is more professional.
This studio is amazing! It has helped me become the dancer I am today.
My daughter being here forever and how happy and how much she enjoy it.
Ive been dancing here for years! The dancers and staff become your best friends!
Love it here!
