Food is excellent!!!First off, you get fresh bread with chimichuri, marinated olives and an olive butter on the house.I lucked out and came in during San Diego Restaurant Week so there was a fixed menu for a very affordable price. The meal included an empanada, salad and a main course for only $20+tax+tip!Had the Ensalada Mixta La Boca which was crisp, fresh and delicious! Mixed greens topped with walnuts, figs, mandarin oranges and Roquefort cheese.Next was the Cheese & Corn Empanada that was fully filled. Taste was good but a little hot sauce to accompany it would have made it excellent. Finally, the main course!Entraña (skirt steak) cooked medium-rare with Argentinian style fries. I thought going in that the portion might be small because I ordered the special, but this wasn’t the case at all!It comes topped with grilled green onion, but I sliced mine up then topped it with the olive butter & chimichuri which is my favorite way to enjoy Entraña.The taste was on point and the steak cooked perfectly.Highly recommend this place and I was out the door for only $27.15 after tax & tip!!!I will be back here!

I dont know how else to say it, this place is fire.. Im in food heaven!I landed here today, because I won a gift card from work... and because mama needed a yummy libation. So I decided to treat myself to a late lunch/ early dinner.I started with a red sangria..yuuumm. The Sangria is sweet, boozy, and topped with green apple, green grapes, and tiny orange wedges. For a starter, I asked the server whats the most popular empanada. He said the beef is the most popular, but he prefers the ham n cheese over all of them. Bueno! Id like one beef and one ham n cheese please. The empanadas were served with a housemade chimchurri sauce. 😍 The sauce knocked these empanadas out of the park! Bravo!!For my main course, I ordered the 8oz Lomo (filet mignon) medium rare, with Roquefort Cheese cream sauce, and a side of veggies. The steak was cooked to perfection. It melted in my mouth! The sauce was so flavorful and divine! It had a hint of garlic, with the incredible Roquefort cheesy flavor 🧀 - uhhh more Sangria please! 😋Needless to say, Im leaving a happy woman 😁

First time here and itll be one of my regulars. The food is a treasure. For entrance I had the mollejas al jerez and the experience was beautiful. The texture of the molleja is perfect, so for people that is hesitant of having this kind of meat, you dont have to worry about that, the consistency is not chewy, is close to chicken meat, but the flavour is surprising, the combination with the Jerez sauce makes it unique. I could ask for this plate as my main plate next time, the portion is large. For main plate I had the milanesa with cheese and tomato sauce. It was a good steak and good flavour, but I will definitely will try something different next time. To drink I had the caipirinha and one piece sour. And they are very well prepared. My husband had a Fernet Branca. Its the best one prepared hes had, he told me. Service good as well. Definitely a place to keep visiting. Highly recommended for true Argentinian food.

So, this is better than any touristy restaurant you can go to in Buenos Aires. Just know that. But, it was not as good as some of the locals only bistros and home cooking we had in Argentina. That being said, if you are simply missing Buenos Aires (or you’ve never been) and you want a little sample of it, this will do the trick. They had all the things you might miss, even Frenet con Coca. See the photos of the dinner menu I took for prices as of Feb 2021. I apologize for not taking a photo of the wine list.PS: we were there on a Sunday night and it seems there is no live music here during COVID

The food is excellent, including steaks and chimichurri. The ravioli in the herby tomato sauce is also wonderful. Simply in terms of the meal, this place is a wonderful and unique restaurant. The overall experience, though, was not as good. Firstly, there was no host or hostess, just one busy waitress who could not tell us how long the wait would be to sit outside and which tables were and werent reserved. It took five minutes after arriving to be seated, and inside the restaurant was uncomfortably hot. Despite it being July there was no air conditioning nor were there any fans running, just stiflingly hot air. This also meant that the red wine, which of course is stored at room temperature, was actively warm. For a place where a meal for two can easily eclipse $75, Id expect significantly better service and a comfortable environment.

We ate here on a Sunday night and were seated immediately outside (no reservations unless its a party of 6 or greater). We had a beef empanada, parrillada el conventillo, and panqueque con dulce de leche. The empanada was crispy with a very flavorful filling. The parrillada el conventillo is a meat sampler plate for 2 to share. All of the beef cuts on this plate were excellent. The chicken, sweetbreads, and sausage were fine but the stars were definitely the beef. The fries tasted ok but they werent served very warm so that took away from it a little. The panqueque was very delicious and surprisingly not overly sweet. Our waiter was ok - he didnt seem very friendly or welcoming but the man who filled our water was very friendly and nice. Overall, I would recommend coming here if you want some good beef or want to try dulce de leche desserts.

A good friend took me there while I was visiting San Diego and I loved it. I ordered a medium rare skirt steak and it was the best one I had in years. Juicy and tender it reminded me of much more expensive steak houses in South America. The portion was just right for a lunch fare. Definitely recommend it.

The ambiance was great but the service and food were just ok. The gentleman refilling our water came to our table more than our waiter. Atmosphere - Like most places in san diego now, pretty much everything is outside, which is lovely with the weather right now. It was dark enough to be cozy but not hard to see (city lights kept everything visible). The only sorta downfall of being outside is that you are like 3 feet from the cars, but given the circumstances its the best of a bad situation.Service - very friendly service, knowledgeable about the menu. but for me the best part was that they actually spoke spanish. As a cuban i value very much being able to speak my native language when dining at an argentinian restaurant, yes they also spoke english but I was pleasntly surpised to see that my server was actually argentinian.Food- The provoleta I had was delicious, I have never has it with a thick cut tomato before but it was yet another pleasant surprise. Of course being an argentinian restaurant I had to have steak, the entraña was as delicious a cut of meat as I could ask for. I am glad i didnt get the currasco as i think that too much of a good thing could be bad. Also the chimichurri was delicious.Overall - im sure argentinians would debate on the authenticity of the food, i cannot do that as a cuban but i can unequivocally state that everything was delicious.

Our server Sebastian was amazing. First off, he was honest. He does not drink but gave us a great choice on wine, Luigi Bosca. It was amazing with our meal. We asked about the meat and he said he was a vegetarian. He could of lied to me and told me that the meat was amazing, but once again he was honest and advised me of what most people say. Great and friendly place to eat. Lets not forget who started the whole evening... Samantha the hostess. If you love wine, you will have a great laugh. Thank you Samantha! I purchased a super value Groupon for this fantastic restaurant in advance, as this is my favorite international destination in all of Little Italy in San Diego - even though it is an Argentinian steakhouse! I had the appetizer of warm bread with chimichurri sides and another appetizer of sizzling fried cheese with a huge slice of beef-steak tomato on top which was very flavorful and filling. The un-cured beef has that distinctive Argentinian flavor and a steak covered with Tiger sized prawns slathered with a delicious Roquefort cheese sauce and a health side of crispy shoe-string potato fries is my favorite entre for just under $40. The Cadillac margarita is top-shelf and mixed on the rocks with a strong kick - a perfect companion to the hearty meal. I spent $66 for my dinner which was the total bill after applying the $40 Groupon I had purchased in advance. I tipped well because, as always, the service was impeccable. Valet parking for $15 was available one block to the West on Kettner just South of Hawthorne [across the street from the oldest bar in town, The Waterfront, which was founded in 1933, which was a perfect place for a nightcap].

Also had mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and broccoli with mango salsa, this was also nice and light and tasty. Would be 5 stars but restaurant was empty and service seemed slow.
