This is the ruin of the palace of veer surendra sai and his familys. This place is now abandoned and no maintenance has been done since years. But this place is gonna be renovated by government of Odisha soon under samaleiswari Temple corridor program.

The land fort is having some fortification and ruins and it is located of bank of river Mahanadi. Surendra Sai was the Indian freedom fighter and tribal leader who sacrificed his life fighting against the British East India Company.

A great historical monument for Sambalpur which holds a number of historical stories in it. But it isnt maintained properly as it should be, now its gradually changes but still more improved work is needed for the beautification of this place.

This place is of great historical importance as it is associated with legendary freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai. Once upon a time, it was centre of freedom movement in Western Odisha and had seen many historical events. Its also called Raja Bakhri . Now, in complete ruins, it needs immediate attention from authorities for renovation.

Awesome place to get some inspiration. Govt should do some serious work for its preservation and development.
