Lot of emerging athelete are in Salem ,so ground need to improve like synthetic track ... compare to other districts very low maintenance...

It is very good place for all type of athletic person for warm up and for football players for the practice to there competition. In morning and evening is good time to make a joking at there ☺️

Hello Everyone! If your are coming to the Stadium be care full with your belongs (Cycle, Helmet, Anything that you leave in Parking) Yesterday thats on 5/2/2021 I lost the Helmet. Within Completing 4 Rounds they took My helmet. People Even lose there Cycle. I hope this information will be helpful. If your are coming above 7:30Pm there is No lights in Parking. Authorities are Responsible these things. Stay Alert.

Stadium ground was very neet but toilet and drinking water not available

Super place to play cricket 🏏 full side matches and it consists two long jump track and shot put field.Parking place available for two wheelers, no parking charges.But,Drinking water facility not available this ground.

Ground is fine....good facilities no problem...but toilet maintenance is very very very worst....hygiene is not been maintained...please consider regarding washroom

This place is good for palyers as well as public for walking, palyaing ,yoga,fitness classes.then there was lot of play ground for football,cricket,basketball ,tennis, shuttle , athletic, volleyball.

Meant for public that was opened way back in 1972. managed by SAI (sports authority of india) and has inhouse hostel for athletes. its the only stadium situated inside the city limits. houses many government programmes like independence & republic day flag hoisting, police and military personnel recruiting etc., pity that it gets flooded during rains. at present public is refrained from using them as covid positive patients are being treated in its indoor stadium. it would be better if the amenities and standards of the stadium is raised........

Athletics, swimming, Football, Hockey, cricket ,basketball and lots n lots in just one huge ground.Its the best place to walk and have a jog in the morning. Local people in and around Salem, they use this beautiful stadium to keep themselves Fit.

Gandhi Stadium - Biggest stadium in Salem.. You have athlete track, football and cricket ground.. Swimming pool and Ball badminton also available.. You also have basketball and tennis court.. Most of the events like marathon and other sport related events and Independence Day and Republic Day parades are conducted here..

Excellent stadium. Quite crowded at all time. No entry fee or parking fee levied, a good news. Lot of activities seen and vibrant. I appreciate, if there was Lav and drinking water available. But still full marks to everyone, for having such a complex in salem. Thanks

I visited swimming pool there. Not maintained too good. But can visit. They sending batch wise every one hour. They will be issuing token half an hour before a batch. The timing will be 10 to 11, 11 to 12 like batch wise till 1 o clock. Then lunch time 1 hour. Again from 2 to 5 o clock they will allow batchwise.

Actually if you are a footballer that area doesnt has grass Roots and only mud court football. Stadium isnt much of stadium because it has only one stand for people who see matches. You have sports like Athletics, Taekwondo, Swimming,Badminton, Gymnastics, Basketball, Football, Tennis and handball. The atmosphere was so crowdy and it was like a circus. But yet as I am a footballer I am rating according to my comfort while playing.

Only one public stadium present in the city of Salem. Its located at the centre of the city so that easily accessible from both the bus stands.

Best place in the center of the city to do some fitness activities. Although its infrastructure needs to be improved, I will still rate this place as a good one for runners and for those who play gully cricket.

Mahatma Gandhi Stadium is a sports stadium in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The stadium has hosted seven first-class matches[1] from 1973 when Tamil Nadu cricket team played against Kerala cricket team.[2] The ground hosted its last first-class matches[3] in 1992 when Tamil Nadu cricket team played against Andhra cricket team.The stadium was established in 1972 which managed and owned by Sports Authority of India. As condition of stadium was not very good and there was no renovation was done since it was built. But in 2013, Government of Tamil Nadu decided to renovate the stadium by sanctioned Rs. 1 crore off which Rs. 60 lakhs will be used for 400 m athletic track, a football ground, grass lawns, and a walkers path and Volleyball, basketball courts and infrastructure including toilet facilities will be improved

Government controlled Play ground. There is Badminton Indoor stadium. Basket ball court, Foot Ball Ground, Cricket Ground. Most of the athletic events are organised here. Small snacks canteen is available.It is open to public for walking and other needs.
