I discovered this place by coincidence and every time I am in Rome for a few days i visit it almost every day! A vintage store with every kind of delicatessen you would like to bring from Italy!But the nicest thing about the place... The espresso bar! Strong Italian coffee full of taste!

Great place for food lover! Their price may not be the cheapest but it is still reasonable for convenience shopping. Many locals buy over there too. Coffee over there is great as well! Dont miss it!

Large store with lots of variety or various goods. Expanisve selection of wines line the top shelves all throughout the store.

Great place to shop for goodies to bring back. We loved the cheese, Venchi chocolate, and Porcini mushrooms we brought home. I wished I could have bought more stuff.

Spent an hour walking around this store in awe of it’s selection.

They (almost) have it all!but being a monopoly they also set the price so dont be surprised when they charge 10€ for a box of the Cinnamon Toast cereal.PS: come here if you want and/or need crème fraîche! literally the only place here in italy where i found it...

Incredible diversity of products from almost everywhere in the world. On the downside, it comes at a price: some things can be qiet expensive when compared with similar options found at the local supermarket.

I hate this place. They have a very bad policy against pets. They are short of personnel and they are rude and not at all helpful. And they are very, very, expensive.

Always an excellent shopping experience, even though staff can be a little curt. It is both a shop as well as cafe/deli, sure to meet your gastronomic plans.

Really nice place to look around if you’re passionate about cooking and eating. You can have a sweet or a sandwich and coffee in the shop itself.

They dont really like to help tourists, stood behind a woman waiting for help for 5 minutes, then signalled the man behind the desk because she was done. He ignored me completely and went to other people that stood behind me in a line. Avoid this place !

On our first visit to Rome and Italy, we wanted to find a place that sold local treats to be taken home as souvenirs and reminders of our trip. We are so thankful that we found Castroni! It is a local chain selling gourmet food items such as dry pasta, tea, chocolates, sweets, and more. It seems to be a very popular place among the locals, as it was crowded when we entered the store. It was so hard to choose what we wanted to take back home, but we decided on a couple of chocolate bars and various other small chocolates. We cannot attest to the quality of the food and beverages that were served at the counter, as we did not purchase anything to be eaten immediately.

Great place, huuuge worldwide selection of food and delis,. Its a must see. Management on site and helpful.

I bought my pasta gifts here including some lemon pasta in different shapes. I also enjoyed a coffee and pastry for breakfast. Pleasant place and food items were similar in cost to other less gourmet shops - so was the coffee. Not a tourist trap and lots of high end food to bring back home. 😊

Never seen a delicatessen with as much choice as this. I could have spent a lot longer enjoying all the sensory delights. If there is anything you are looking for in the food line, it can be found here!

Still one of the better venues in Rome to find everything food related, from exotic spices to hundreds of types of teas and beverages, honey and so on. If youre looking for some special ingredient that you cannot find elsewhere, Castroni its definitely the place with higher probabilities to find what youre looking for.

Great store would love to live next door but live the other side of the world. Well worth a visit even as a tourist so can pick up items to take home.The chocolates they sell are a lot better quality and value. cheaper than the junk they sell at airports

I stumbled upon this shop by chance on my way back to my hotel, few blocks away next to the Vatican. This shop got great choices of tea from China, India, London and Paris. So...I asked, where is the Italian tea? One friendly staff explained to me in resonable English it does not exist. We buy tea from all over the world but we do have our own coffee. So, I got lots good priced tea. When I got to my hotel, Id realized that I left my passport on the cashier counter when I was paying for bags of tea. I ran back to the shop and asked for it. The cashier kept it for me under the counter and gave it back to me. I was beyond thankful.

Lovely supermarket with an extensive assortment of Italian foods at much better prices than the typical tourist traps.

A bit like Eataly in NY but smaller and unique to all products from everywhere.

Lots of lots italian and international good options. Castroni make a lot of their own products and their coffee were good so we got their coffee pods. Good for souvenirs for people. Pastas, oils, vinegars, truffle etc etc

Wow. Hearing this described as a Disneyland for Foodies hits the mark. Can spend hours in here going through the gourmet selections. Also fantastic place to stop for a quick espresso and pastry in the morning.

Nice place for local and international products. Its a it too ckrwdy due to its location and the tourist influx, but one of the only places which is open in Sunday.

A wonderfully eclectic Roman specialty food shop with top quality deli and caffe. I get a laugh seeing American pancake mix and General Mills cereal next to porcini mushrooms but it’s the only place in Rome to get American “specialty foods” and I’m sure the locals love it.

Finding those tastes of home or pasta from all over Italy this shop has it. Several of these shops around Rome and a good shop to pop into.

Found this place by luck. This is a great place to buy gifts and treats. From candy to drinks. Stop here for treat before/after you are walking to the Vatican. When here twice and both times the service was great.

I go there just before New Years Eve.Ferrari champagne, salmon roe from Alaska, and Iranian sturgeonsraised in Italy for the caviar. Naturally, prices are high, but mostly fair.(Except $9 for Aunt Jemima!)

Mmh extensive assortment of a bit of everything from a bit of everywhere around the world. If theres something you cant find in local supermarkets, then your only chance is to find it in here. Besides they have delicious candies and confectionery :)

Great selection of Italian and surprisingly a small section with North American staples (real pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, etc.). Really nice shop, but bring cash - cards not accepted.

Wonderful store near to the Vatican. Great place to grab an al banco coffee. The granita de café (iced coffee) is the best in the eternal city, and a must have even on a cold day - make sure you ask them to add their delicious hand whipped cream into the mix.

Historical grocery store in Rome. Its expensive but quality is awesome! Take coffee with cornetto here (not croissant... cornetto!). Its outstanding. Inside theres a stand for buying toasted coffee to bring at home.
