Impressive monument in the center of Rome. Even though there is a huge line to get in, it goes by really fast. We waited about 10 minutes to get in and it was worth every single one of them. The Pantheon is now a church but you can still see all the Roman history behind its beautiful architecture. Now because of covid they are asking for the green pass (vaccination proof) and a form of ID to get in. They also take your temperature at the entrance. It is free to visit and there are some space limitations inside the Pantheon. Still, worth the visit!
Pantheon is a must-see in Rome. Be prepared to show COVID green pass. When we visited Pantheon (August 2021), there was a line in almost all opening hours due to area/people limitations. Women should cover shoulders and knees, so dress appropriately. There is a water fountain nearby (on the square).
The Roman Pantheon is the most preserved and influential building of ancient Rome. It is a Roman temple dedicated to all the gods of pagan Rome. As the brick stamps on the side of the building reveal it was built and dedicated between A.D 118 and 125.The emperor Hadrian (A.D 117-138) built the Pantheon to replace Augustus’ friend and Commander Marcus Agrippa’s Pantheon of 27 B.C. which burnt to the ground in 80 A.D.When approaching the front of the Pantheon one can see the inscription above still reads in Latin the original dedication by Marcus Agrippa.
Given pantheon becomes a church at old times, this attraction is free, super well maintained, some wait time is expexted, go with a tourist guide is super recommended to understand and learn more about it.
The view is EPIC in the night more than daylightThere are restaurants there for lunch and for dinner too with great view suitable for date 😉Through daylight you can go inside with tickets and for agreat photos alsoPics below
There was a decently long line, but it moved quickly, free admission, with the employees checking green passes/vaccination records and taking everyones temperature. The inside is nice, with stanchions set up to direct the crowd in a clockwise fashion around the room, allowing for ease of movement. Every spot in the Pantheon has a view of the dome, perfect for a panoramic picture.
Monument to many historic figures of Italy, the interior of the building really gives the visitors a sense of glory and honor. Easy to visit and walk around, stopping by the many niches to admire sculptures, paintings and tombs. It will take a visitor about 15-20 minutes to visit the interior.
The pantheon is open and not temporarily closed as marked by Google maps.We visited it yesterday and today. Entry is free - just make sure your shoulders are covered or they wont let you in. Its definitely worth the visit.
Great building - must see when youre in Rome.
OK, I strongly encourage you to visit the Pantheon if you find yourself in Rome with a little time to kill. It was built a couple thouand years ago and is incredibly well preserved. Basically a shrine to wearing underwear (the name Pantheon is derived from Panties on) it is quite an architectual marvel. The ancients who built the Pantheon were practical people who often said Semper Ubi Sububi which is Latin for, always wear underwear (you can Google that). Once inside, if you look closely at the old mosaics, you can still see the ancient Romans with their iconic boxers and briefs. Sometime around 600 AD the Pantheon was converted into a church. But even so, when you visit, you should still wear your underwear.
One of the most amazing buildings in Rome. Its definitely worth the wait in the queue.
Absolutely stunning architecture…simply mesmerizing. And I would highly recommend a visit to this site if you’re visiting Rome. If you’re visiting, a few things to bear in mind: be ready for a long line if you’re visiting later in the day. Remove/do not wear hats. If you are a female, please dress appropriately or they will deny you entry - I’m not certain of exact guidelines but they were turning away women who had bra-straps showing. If you’re visiting during COVID: make sure you have your EU green pass, CDC card, etc. and ID or they will deny you entry.
Loved the Pantheon, one of the most significant places in Rome. Absolutely stunning architecture and mind blowing uniqueness. It’s a must see if you’re visiting the city. Definitely worth a tour inside too! The dome is completely mesmerizing. I highly recommend it and it’s free of cost.
Impressive building that have stood the test of time. Amazing building that still impress 2000 years after it was built
Had a lovely visit at pantheon. Online it said closed, so I was very pleased to see it open. Temperature control at entrance, user friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful sight and not too crowded today. It was even free!
Easily accessible, beautiful history, lots of great cafes around it.
I think this is a majestic and imposing monument. I’ve had the opportunity to get inside years ago and there really isn’t much to do once you are inside (except for the pretty cool oculus in the dome; I still personally don’t think it’s worth the 2h line).HELPFUL TIP: Outside is pretty cool, you want go after 3pm, that way the sun will be on the right side of your pictures. If you go at noon, the sun will be in the middle of the dome, which means the pictures you will take will look black and grainy.
Amazing place to visit but unfortunately this time around the cues were to long so I didnt get to go in because of social distancing but deffo worth a visit
The pantheon is open again! Can be visited any time during the week , but on weekends only with an online reservation at least one day in advance. Last entry 18h45.Best place in Rome, also the best preserved ancient roman building from the first century. Now serving as a church, initially a temple of roman gods.
Good and beautiful but long line
Stunning! Must see plus it’s free which is great for travellers on a budget. You only need a Green Pass and an ID.
Fascinating !! It was amazing to be there!! You have at least visit one time in your life pantheon and see the history of that building.
Free entry. Well worth the wait (we waited 30 minutes)
A little wait to get in because of Covid but it was moving fast. Beautiful inside and out and doesn’t take long to see the whole inside.
All of Rome is incredible to me. The Pantheon is no exception. It is nestled in the city, so often you just come around a city street to behold one of the most famous buildings in the world. You can’t help but feel a reverence inside it’s walls and you will look back in awe many times as you leave. Exceptional in every way.
Panteon is amazing. Must see when youre in Rome. Entrance is free of charge if you dont need guided tour or audio tour :)
No tickets necessary during work-week, during corona green-pass (covid-pass) needed, opened half an hour later than written on Google, lot of people, very long line waiting to get in, possibility of audio guide inside.
Breathtaking monument still intact since ca. 2000 years ago. We didnt go into the museum and only watched the outside which was still very beatiful. Even the details and wall decorations are still there.
An iconic building of Rome. Must visit.
First day, I checked google it will open until 7:30 PM. But, the last entry was 6:45PM. Wasted my time.Second day, My girl friend and I came early than before. There “No sign and explaining” while people are waiting about the Passport and ID.Wasted time twice. You want to go here, you need to check well. They are not kind!
So incredible, pictures will never do it justice
One of the most significant places in Rome. Make sure to be there during opening time and go inside for a visit!
Beautiful temple worlds largest unreiforced concrete dome with a central opening to the sky.mush have visit of Rome, shame is that they will not let you in when your shoulders are exposed, even though in summer is weather very hot and impossible to wear sleeves at least for me. have in mind to take some cover with you, like scarf
A historical place, its a must see monument. I love sitting to the stairs of the Fontaine and enjoy the beautiful sguare!
The dome was worth seeing in person. The weekday line was long, but took less than 30 minutes to get inside. It was a great excuse to eat some more gelato. The walk from the Pantheon back to St. Peters is worth the effort.
Open and ready for visitors. As mentioned, just make sure ladies that your shoulders are covered. Great piece of history.
History coming alive, 2000+ years of history right in front your eyes. You must see it.
Very antique, prescious 2000 year old heritage. Beautiful, unique, must visit place when you’re in Rome.
THE PANTHEON of ROME - an architectural masterpiece that is well restored and preserved until today as part of the history of Rome. It is a temple of worship dedicated to all gods and as resting place for famous historical figures like kings and great painter Raphael. Presently, they also use this place as a Christian Church.
The place itself is awesome but the ticket booking and advance reservation process needs to be a more streamlined. But this place as much is a must visit if in Rome. Its not a conventional place of prayer but souch more to it.
Only viewed from outside, imposing building. Its glory is a bit taken away by the sellers in the area trying to get you to buy all kinds of stuff
It is an amazing building, but it is a shame it has lost all of its original art and purpose. But at least it wasnt destroyed as many of the other temples were. Be ready for a fairly long wait to get through the line to get in.
Impressive, do put it on your list of places to visit while in Rome.Visiting is free but take into consideration that for weekends a reservation is mandatory. You can book at pantheon.cultura.gov.it
Absolutely a must go-to with free entry. Great plaza around it too.
The most magical place in Rome! Even though it’s always busy outside, it still brings me so much peace inside. Make sure you spend a lot of time inside and see all the details and intricacies of the interior. My favourite place to just let time past by...
One of the most beautiful places to visit in Rome, with huge history behind it.Women are not allowed to enter with shoulders/knees uncovered. I didnt.
Amazing architecture! And one historical location
A personal favorite, I love that it‘s the oldest building in the world that’s still in use nowadays…
What can I say? The place where Raffaello wanted absolutely to be buried as a sign of recognition to those who designed and built the Pantheon may deserve a visit? 😉My preferred timing is sunset simply because of the evening tones but any time of the day will suit those who are looking for magnificent pieces of art history
Pantheon is a magnificent building with awsome history. The place of all gods.A must see!
It was a bit restricted due to Covid. But if you have your COVID-19 vaccine with you or as they call it “ green pass “ you will be just fine. Be ready for a bit of a wait because they are only allowing a certain number of people inside —again due to Covid. But it is a must see!!!
How is this not more of a must see attraction than the Vatican or Colosseum? Its absolutely stunning and so well preserved. I personally found it more rewarding than many of the other typical tourist sites in Rome.
Nice Building, but worst organization in whole Italy. 1 hour line to wait and then been told at the entrance just with Reservation Really bad by the Pantheon Staff. It is a mess!
Beautiful architectural piece!!! Good spot to meet up with friends.
Beautiful stunning monument. Always nice to have a coffee front of it. Chill in that square.
Written in Sept 2021 during Covid regulations.Despite being practically empty, we were denied entry because a reservation was required on weekends.I was in the city for a day, an thus unable to reserve for the next day.
A must stop over in Rome. This building has been an inspiration for some of the most beautiful cupolas ever built, including our capitol. The restaurants in front are wonderful. I sat there reading and drinking the house wine as it became evening. So romantic and majestic. Bring a long some Cicero or Dante. The waiters made an art of their profession.
The most wonderful place in Rome! Even better than the Colosseum! There is some kind of mysterious power which I definitely felt during my visit. Its a tremendous building which makes you feel small and insignificant. The roof is build out of concrete which has been laid at once and not from separate segments. I definitely recommend visiting the Pantheon!
I really liked the story about the oculus in the great roof. The oculus is never bin covert and there is a drain in the flour for the rain. The hole has also an astronomic side. If you want to know more about this beautiful building then get a guide!👍🏻
Really nice. Would recommend booking the audio guide. Also important info: There is only one line for people who booked tickets (audio guide) and people that dont have tickets (entry to the pantheon is free). This line can get very long, so plan arriving earlier than the booked time on your ticket. Also dont forget sunscreen, water (but on the piazza is also a fountain) and a hat, since it could be that youll have to wait in line in the scorching hot sun.
Absolutely beautiful, much larger than expected
Its very lovely place where you can see a very important historical church
DO NOT BOOK ON THE SITE MENTIONED HERE! it is not official page! Entry is free! There is no „skip the lines“!!!!
Great place to see while in Rome. Read the history of the place before visit or visit with a guide
Great stuff. Line moves quickly. Make sure to have your green pass and ID and if going in the weekend make sure to book in advance as you will not be able to enter if you just show up (this applies to weekends only)
Nice to finally be able to see it though it felt a bit underwhelming, but then again wouldnt everything else in Rome after seeing the St Peters Basilica? 😅
It is free and we had to wait only 10 min. Only annoying thing is street merchants that want to sell you water or recharge a phone. Remember no eye contact =]
Free entrance, oldest ancient building, still great in shape though 2000 years oldDuring corona on weekends: reserve your time slot online in time (for free)
Just an awesome experience to be inside and staring up in the ceiling. A magnificent building and the history
Very impressive. Must see in Rome and better with a guided tour to know all the secrets and ancestry stories that rythmed this monumental building.
The outside is amazing. But thee inside is even more. So try to go inside even if there is a big queue because it moves fast. The only thing is that you can be waiting under the sun for some time. Do not miss this place if you come to Rome.
Amazing temple / tomb. Great construction. Superb views. Crowded. Must visit. Beautiful.
The queue might seem long, but its quite fast - worth the wait! Its rather unusual and special! Nevermind the religious interior, but read into its history!! Cool place among the top 10 of romes best places
