Best Indian food in the area, perhaps even in Auckland. We have ordered on multiple occasions and it has been of the same high quality every time. The Lamb Bhuna is a stand out and not to be missed.

All I could say about the food was “ nothing special and not even good, may be average(I’m being generous). Out of the 2 staff in the reception, one was friendly 👍🏻 and the other was just disappointing 😕. I think, hospitality skillHas to be taught from the scratch. Had a ☹️ experience. Not worth the money, could give it a try once and say good bye if you haven’t tried. I hope you read the feedback’s form the customers. I would rather suggest people to buy a meal from Beekeepers.

Under new owners and management. Updated decor. Its a nice feeling sitting in this cafe in the heart of historical Riverhead. I enjoyed my coffee and my eggs Benedict. The Indian at night in Riverhead, priceless. Very nice. I had the beef special my first visit and butter chicken the other two visits .You can dine in or takeaway. Fast service. Friendly people. Nice.

If you are looking for an unpretentious place for tea, the Kauri Gum has friendly service.I had the iced chocolate which has a big scoop of ice cream and is happily milky and chocolatey!The eggs benedict is just done if you like your poached eggs that way - I do.

Two months ago i left negative feedback .over a change of chef and a vegetarian breakfast. Well tryed again today and was amazed by how good a cook mini is .she is a lovely person and an amazing cook .cant wait till next weekend so i can eat here again .

Food is OK, average cafe food for lunch also ask for Indian cuisine, waited 20min for omelette and a whole hour for Indian dishes. If we dont have kids with us in such a hurry, maybe I will give them a 3.5 stars. Time is important people. Should have just gone home to cook would be even faster.

A little disappointed, main reason not being understood ,when I asked if I could have a slight change to the menu it was agreed (so I thought ) even asking for 1 meal to be mild and 1 hot no marking on containersand both tasted the same 😡 paying the account I did think it a little more expensive but ok because changes went with it , having waited for the meal then to be asked for another $16.00 because of another misunderstanding 😡. Fortunately it was agreed mistakes were on a their side so the account remained as paidMeal was o k just disappointed with the overall experience

My last visit was 18 months ago. I was a bit disappointed on this visit as its not what it used to be! The cosy look and vibe have gone. Coffee cups are much smaller as well. Sorry guys.. Im just being honest.

Food was ordered with over 30 mins notice for collection at a certain time. They were 20 minutes late, had the order wrong and the food was either too sweet (butter chicken) or too spicy. Wont go again

Had lunch at Kauri Cafe today.Omlette was very nice and generous portion of bacon,tomato and avocado.Fries good too.Service was very pleasant.Glad we tried it

A right shocker... any wonder the sign on the door said Food Grade Pending. Used the toilet which looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a while and there was no paper towels.

Beautiful Breakfast...I ordered the vegetarian and my partner loved the chicken liver pate. Highly recommend...nice coffee as well.

I ordered a muffin and asked if its fresh, they said and it was stale. I ordered a chicken and a avocado salad - it came with no avocado or salad. Avoid like the plague.

I’m afraid it’s gone down hill quite badly over the past 12 months. There was a time when ordering the lamb balti that I phoned them afterwards to award praise for the care and quality of ingredients in the dish with bay leaves and a homemade taste. This evenings was a food court butter chicken cream sauce with chewy bits of lamb. Such a shame as Westgate Yellow Mirchi a short drive away leaves it for dead and all homemade tasting for slightly less money. Sorry guys, had your back but I’ve moved on!

Very basic Cafe, more in line with an Indian restaurant with Cafe as after thought. Food was expensive for what we got, basic menu options, done reasonably well.

Heading to Piahia, stopped in for breakfast, wife had a pie I choose the omelette, we left with a smile and a full belly lol, would return again. Oh coffee is good as 🤣🤣

What a fantastic addition to the Coatesville Riverhead Community ! !the Indian food is excellent and they even deliver !! What a difference two chefs makes. Three weeks ago I had the best vegetarian breakfast, went back today to be given a meal to consisted old salad, no eggs, and the sausage left me a bad taste in my mouth. I ate less than a third and left. MEGA disappointed, wont be back.

This place delivers a solid tasty curry and nan bread.

The birdseed slice is a must. Coffee is excellent. Menu is varied and well priced. The cafe itself is as unique as possible, with a glass floor displaying a skeletal remains of a gum prospector. Also displays kiwiana museum type toys, knicknacs and household items that you cant help but smile at. Outdoor area seats plenty in intimate courtyard setting. If youve never been you need to experience it. Well worth the drive.

Cafe was a great disappointment. Ordered toasted sandwiches off board menu to take out. Outrageously expensive and hardly any filling and cheese was slices of orange Chesdale cheese (out of processed packet) and to top it off they were cold!
