Visited the restaurant for dinner with family, only because of the name I have heard for long. But the experience was not good both in respect of service and food. The food and service at a small dhaba at 1/4 of the price are better. Food and service are always more important than the infrastructure when we are going to eat. Two star for the person sitting outside in the iconic chotiwala attire.
Amazing place with amazing vibes. The service can be a bit better but the taste of the food on the table was amazingly delicious. Quality is good, ambience is better, service fast, Rates are above average. A fat man with a चोटी for attraction outside the shops. 2 shops are there, ask guard which is old one.
As the rate increases quality reduces. There was a time when there was a craze for this restaurant. People stand in a queue for there turn of getting the seat. Now it is not worthy. They have to work on there quality and rates both.
A trendy place in Rishikesh near Ram Jhula for lunch and dinner. They are providing services for a long time. The service and food are pretty good. I hardly finished the whole special plate lunch. If you are visiting Rishikesh, at least try this place for lunch or dinner. And try to sit upstairs for better experience.
One of the best restaurant of yoga capital - Rishikesh. Each and every food item is delicious 😋. My recommendation is Chotiwalas special thali and kadi pakoda. Very polite and friendly staff. Price range of food items are moderate. So if you want some delicious food after your long journey go to chotiwala😍.
Food quality is not price worthy. Special thaali is worst. Too costly compared to market, They charge approx. 3 times. Guest management is pathetic. Neither waiters nor managers listen to customers. It took 30 minutes for billing.Restaurant is running on marketing and publicity only.Better to go other restaurants nearby.
Very popular destination in Rishikesh for foodies. Here food is so good. I had visited there for dinner two time but only weird thing is that they had two different type of menus in accordance to different sitting. If you are visiting here go prefer seating upstairs for better service I guess.Rating:3/5Taste:4/5Price: 1400/- (for 4 adults)If you like my review you can follow me for more here and on instagram@devin_latsi
Service is good. Very crowded and waiters dont wear masks
Patnimal guest house awesome experience.. Nice calm n neat place.
Food quality and taste is average as compared to its price.very slow service and staff is very rude.i had to wait for one spoon for 5 mins to start my breakfast.on complaining abt it waiter responded very rudely to me which has spoiled my happy mood and time.waiters had the next level of attitude that too when there were only 2 tables were occupied.i wonder how they would behave with customers during their peak timings (lunch/dinner)there are many better restaurants in rishikesh that you could prefer over chotiwala which are good at their hospitality.
Like a historic place must visit when in rishikesh. Vast menu
The oldest restaurant in Rishikesh. The food tastes good. Few items are ok not as previously it used to be. Still they are maintaining the old standard. If you are in Rishikesh you must try this place.
Gone for dinner. Took the Thaali was enough for one person. The rasamalai was thick but good.
Absolutely loved the food. Crowded on weekends but completely worth.
It is over crowded place not value for money. People are visiting only to see there trademark logo (bear head Person sitting outside the place on higher chair, whom people are calling chotiwala, taking picture with him and jamming the area traffic. Every time i had visited the place and asked for the food that i want to have, the only reply was sorry we are not serving this. If u r not serving an item why it is on your menu. In my personal opinion restaurant situated after chotiwala is much much cheaper and is serving much delicious food then this place.
Only hype... poor management , no taste as overpriced
An average food restaurant with big name. Yes the taste was a little above good but so is the price. Another addition to confusion is which one is original as both are beside each other. As per locals it belongs to brothers who got seperated. About food, if you are from delhi like me, you will rate it average but to be frank, I am not sure how good are other restaurants in rishikesh. You can give it a try but please dont go with very high hopes. Also service is little slow.
Awesome thali.. 😋 delicious..humble staff..thank you
Nice place to eat, food is good. Staff is good. Prices are on bit higher side ! Overall nice experience.
Their special thali is one of the best Thalis I have ever had. Each and every dish served in it tastes amazing. Dal Makhni is so yum. I recommend highly to anyone who is in Rishikesh and wants to have delicious food😋😊
Just go there and place a small order to have a first time experience.. believe me you wouldnt want to do a second visit because their dishes dont justify their price list!
Its famous by chotiwala only, quality of food & taste is worse, & price of the foods are too much high comparing with the quality & quantity.. naam bade , darshan chote..Not recommended at all
Its the most popular restaurant Rishikesh where everyone wants to visit at least once when in Rishikesh. However, except the chotiwala baba sitting outside, there is nothing great about the food or ambience in this place. They dont even offer any regional dishes or cuisine and rates are on the higher side. A thali will cost you around Rs. 350 which
Worst restaurant , u will get cold dishes , nd then they will argue with you if u complain that this is fresh and hot , service quality is not good , uchi baate feeka pakwaan .
Well, this place has a unique name...but that name is a brand in itself...We came here some 20 years back and then I visited the restaurant yesterday...the only thing changed was just dates...The food is still one of the best in Rishikesh... If you are hungry enough, go for there special veg thali... its portion size was seems to good for 2 people..And dont forget to spot the living icon of the hotel right in front of it.
Pathetic food quality. 6 of us ordered Spl Thali... Kadhi, salad was bad, Raita was average. Rice was not even edible. Cleanliness and hygiene were another questionable areas. Never visit this overrated place for food.
We had ordered veg thali it was super Good Quality wise ,everything was good ,only thing their Restrooms are not so cleanSo there is 3 main choti wala restaurant one is entry side of ram jhula and remaining 2 is after crossing the jhula ,you will get one chotiwala man is sitting on the main gate of restaurant, I have visited 2nd one as per local 2nd one is having good taste so.
The Restaurant was good only .I appreciate the popularity he has earned but when our family visited we ordered Daal Makhini one of our item in main course .They served Daal makhini too much salty. We did complaint to the staff and asked just taste it or how can we eat too much salty dish..We requested either make again or refund the money of Daal makhini .But their staff behaved very rudely . We talked to the manager , But Manager was only saying extremely sorry and said i will cheak but in the last they refunded the money of Daal makhini. Else everything was good .Sorry , for the low ratings this time. And the prices are also too high .acc. to the prices they should improve the quality also.
Honestly...Naam Bade Darshan chote..we also went to have our lunch with expectations as big as their name..but hust to get disappointed.. except lassi..none of the items we ordered had good taste..a thela wala near roadside makes tasty food!
Loved the food, definitely recommend it.For more details watch my YouTube video!(Channel name- Shreeja KhatriVideo title- VLOG:Parmarth Niketan Ganga Aarti|Best food in Rishikesh😍| Chandi Devi Temple Haridwar-Ropeway Ride🤩)
Enjoyed delicious meal and nice hospitality at this iconic restaurant
The food was awesome. So many types of dishes and all are very tasty. The place was very clean.
Good ambience. Great Food. Polite staff. I need to explore this restaurant further more before rating it a 5 star.
A landmark in Rishikesh, Chotiwala - twin restaurants run by two brothers, there is a man dressed with elaborate make-up. Both the restaurants have a man with makeup to lure tourists, the person is friendly and tourists can take pictures with them. The food is very good, tasty and delicious. A must visit for anyone visiting Rishikesh. The place is near Ram Jhula, easily available on maps. Coincidentally I had visited the place on the 63rd Anniversary so the place looked extra grand.
Average place . Visited Rishikesh recently and went for lunch at Choliwala.Food is average , ambience bad , over priced for the service they provide.
Very bad quality food ... totally waste of money... naam bade darshan chote......and too much attitude of reception guys ...
Nice place and taste was osmGood service
A decent place but slowly loosing its vibe and it shows in thier food.Whenever i visit rishikesh i do have my lunch at this place, but this time it lacked the old charm .1. Ac restaurant was closed2. Staff was not attentive3. Dal makhni was stale4. Item replaced by Dal makhni was Tawa paneer which was horrible .5. They need to check their food quality
Very costly place nearby geeta bhaven much more chepaer
Dont go for Gujarati food, they are not provide any Gujarati food.we go therir by its review but its worthless, even pavbhaji and south indian also not there although its included in menu.
I dont know why it is so famous. There are literally so many restaurants in Rishikesh better than this.
Very bad service, called waiter 3-4 times they ignored. Although food was very delicious but the staff was very rude, it ruined the whole experience…. *Go inside on your own risk*
Jad a best food in Rishikesh ❤️
Best restaurant.. awesome taste.. great and fast service..all food items are best in taste.. speciality is thali..you can share and eat in same thali.. thali price is Rs.299.. other dishes are also available..it is located near Ram jhula.. parking is available but not exactly at restaurant, you have to park some near parking spaces available..
The restaurant is quite good. If you are roaming around Ramjhula place of Rishikesh and are looking for a good family restaurant then it is quite good ..Everything you want is available here but the थाली which have Indian dishes here is good in taste and the biggest one which is the center of attraction is the person sitting at the main gate of this restaurant, who is known by the name of chotiwala . Very ornate and sitting on a chair
Nice food, but service not good
Soup was good but the vegetables were two spicy and was not better in taste . So if you go either ask them not to add spices if you eat less spicy food.
Chotiwala restaurant got its name after the founder of this restaurant whose pic is on counter but got the recognition and fame through the iconic representation of person sit on entry gate.Cons and demeritsIf u want to showcase in your insta stories and whatsapp status it a nice place to visit just near to Ram jhula but dont waste too much money as food is average and price are high and service is worst.I ordered gahat dal ka paranatha which is showcased on wall.after taking order after 15 minutes they denied.
Average taste. It didnt had the taste or the quality that a famous and old restaurant like Chotiwala should have.
While returning from reshikesh I and my family & friends had come here for lunch today and I am happy to share that we are ending our visit on a happy note with delicious food served on our tables. Each item was well cooked and tasty. Their rooftop ambience is awesome and service was very fast. I would love to stop by again while travelling on this route in future.
Good one go for it tasty food
Was pulled in by Chotiwala guy sitting on the podium but food was average. Wont try it again
Food is overall good, but order in a single shot because after your first order at table there shall be no person to ask again for anything you want, may it be water, chapati or even dessert.
The most famous restaurant in Rishikesh for their Indian cuisine and one of the oldest restaurant as per locals.
Writing this review for the first one you will encounter when you are moving from the Ram jhula side. Dont know about the second one.1. Unnecessary high prices,2. below average food quality3. Unhigenic upkeep of the utensils.4. Dirty washrooms5. Rude and late service.from the staff
Very bad taste and quality ( no sirka pyaz🥲)
Delicious 😋 Food Restaurant in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand and it was a one of the famous restaurant. I really Liked it. There are tow or three Branches of CHOTIWALA in Rishikesh but main restaurant Is near Ram Jhula. So You Guys when go to rishikesh please Visit this Restaurant. Thank you 🙏 हर हर गंगे माता
Ohh, the best food I have had in years. Everything was perfect. The 300rs thali suffice for 2 people and If you order things individually, they are awesome too. Reasonably priced. Staff is great too
Awesome place but food is average
Can enjoy food with river side view.. good place to visit with family n friends..
Service not good at all, got cold food, and order mismatch. Dont recommend at all.
