Nice place but the pedestrian lane was in middle so not able to see the ganges from window side. 😄 traffic speed was very high. Most of the vehicles was overspeeding, tripling, without mask, without helmet. PRD constable was there. He was not checking those vehicles but trying to harass tourists on name of corona, when asked to show the guideline he was not able to show any.
Rishikesh has been a part of the legendary Kedarkhand.Legends state that Lord Rama did penance here for killing Ravana, the asura king of Lanka; and Lakshmana, his younger brother, crossed the river Ganges, using two jute ropes at the point where the present Lakshman Jhula (लक्ष्मण झूला) stands today.the Kedarkhand of Skanda Purana, also mentions the existence of Indrakund at this very point. The jute-rope bridge was replaced by a 248-foot long iron-rope suspension bridge in 1889. After it was washed away in the 1924 floods, it was replaced in 1927 by the present stronger bridge built by the United Provinces Public Works Department. This bridge connects the two districts of Tapovan, Tehri and Jonk, Pauri Garhwal. Another similar suspension bridge Ram Jhula was built in 1986 at nearby Sivananda Nagar..... !!!!
Nive oneA new suspension bridge, over river Ganga, became operational in Rishikesh on Friday. After the iconic Laxman Jhula (1930) and popular Ram Jhula (1986), the holy township got the three-lane ‘Janki Setu.’ The 274 mts new bridge will ease traffic and crowd movement, especially during the annual Kanwad pilgrimage season.Constructed with a budget of Rs 48.85 crore, the Janki Setu is all set to become a major selfie hotspot for tourists and youths. Inaugurating the new suspension bridge, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said, “Very soon the construction work of Bajrang Pul will start in Rishikesh and it will turn into a major attraction for Indian and foreign tourists.”The historic Laxman Jhula (137 meter) was closed for the public last year in July, after it was declared unsafe for movement by experts. Presently the 228 meter Ram Jhula remains a major destination for tourists. The 274 meter long Janki Setu is expected to woo tourists as it is located in a pristine location. Separate lanes have been constructed on Janki Setu for pedestrians and two-wheelers movement.
It is a beautiful bridge across river gang, more sturdy and wider than the earlier two- ram and Lakshman hula. Three separate lanes, one specifically for walking and two for two wheelers. A must visit after it gets dark, in night lights it looks mesmerising.

Jaanaki setuThis place is located near Ramjhula and Madhuvan Mandir here along with Geeta Bhawan Ashram, pramarth niketan and Van Prastha Ashram.Pramarth niketan: This place is built on the banks of the river Ganges, here a beautiful idol of Lord Lord Shiva is installed here. Ganga Aarti is done every day in the evening.
The bridge is wonderful 😍 and the different rows for vehicle and walking is a great idea. Its really clean as well. Must visit. ❤️
Jai Gange... Beautiful place
Organised setu. Seperate lane for coming vehicle and going vehicle, along with pedestrian.
A few years back, the Janak Shetu pool was built, which is quite good and strong, you can have fun around the banks of the Ganges.
This bridge is newly built and has some amazing graphics. I liked the way they have planned to manage vehicles and pedestrian. Generally you find 2 lanes on a bridge but this bridge has 3 lanes. The extreme left and right for vehicles and middle one for pedestrians. Really loved the concept.
Good Over Bridge on Ganga. Janki Setu.
Very clean, newly built.. well maintained.. well lit in the night..
One more option to cross Ganga river. Beautiful😍
Thus bridge is near madhuban ashram and connects near Beatles ashram. There are divisions for people walking and on bikes unlike the other 2 bridges which makes it convinient.
Janki Setu - Janki Setu in Rishikesh -Janaki Setu Bridge RishikeshJanaki Setu has been launched by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. This has given Rishikesh a lot. It will connect the boundaries of Tehri and Pauri districts of the state. Its work started in March 2013 and now it has opened to the public. It was waiting for its opening for a long time. This bridge is built on the Ganges River and has a length of 274 meters. Tourism is expected to increase with its formation. It is quite beautiful and it is believed that it will entice tourists. In the erstwhile Congress government, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna laid the foundation stone of this bridge. The construction of this bridge will also have a positive impact on the trade in both Tehri and Pauri districts. Those who drive two-wheelers will get relief from this. This bridge has been built under the state plan. Rishikesh already has Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula. Despite this, another bridge was being sought for a long time. This bridge also became a victim of politics and its work was stopped in the middle. After becoming the Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat had assured that its work would be completed as soon as possible.Janaki Bridge will be the first three-lane bridge in UttarakhandThe Janaki Setu under construction in the Ganges between Kailash Gate and Ved Niketan will be the first three lane bridge in Uttarakhand. A foot lane will be built on both sides of this bridge, with one lane coming in and the other going. Whereas, in the middle part there will be space for two-wheelers and carts. However, this bridge is being built with load capacity suitable for four-wheelers. Despite this, the vehicles will be able to travel on the bridge only under special conditions. Mo Arif Khan, Executive Engineer, PWD, said that the three-lane dividers on the bridge can be separated under special circumstances and opened for four-wheelers.Mo. Arif Khan (Executive Engineer, PWD, Narendranagar, Tehri) says that 83 percent work of Janaki Setu has been completed. Now only towing is to be done on this, which will take about one and a half months. After this, a 274 meter long DAC will be laid, which is ready. It is expected that the bridge will be ready before the deadline.Three lane Janaki suspension bridge at a glance- Total length of bridge - 346 m- Main span of bridge - 274 m.- Bridge width - 3.90 m- Approach road from right side - 24 meters- Approach road from left - 48 m.- The height of the bridge of the bridge - 30 meters.- Security lattice height of bridge - 2.10 m- Three parts of width of bridge - 2 x 1.20 m and 1.50 m-Accepted year-2013-Re-approved Approved Year-2018- Total Cost - 48.85 Crore
The beautiful and amazing place....no rush at all..even this is more convenient thn other bridge in Rishikesh cz it has 3 lanes for pedestrian and for 2 wheeler..

Newly constructed bridge for two wheelers at rishikesh
Near the ram jhula and definitely a favourite amongst the locals and the tourists. This place is a religious Hotspot and features a wide variety of religious processions. Wonderful nights and better mornings.
Good vibes 😊 3 am LOFI
Nice but need to be more clean and hygiene
Very good place and clean.
Nice one by uk government
Direct way to Neelkanth from Janki Setu, newly built bridge is nice, You will see beautiful scenery here. At the end of the bridge, there is a snacks shop on left , You will get good quality Parantha & tea there as there is not much original wheat Chapatis in these areas. Good luck for the journey.
As a resident of Rishikesh, I dont see why the govt would spend so much money on an overspaced bridge when four wheelers are not allowed? And even for two wheelers and pedestrians, the bridge is somehow tricky, especially for pedestrians. Sign boards are way too high for people to notice, and this usually results in people walking in vehicle lanes, which causes hectic situations sometimes.! I just feel like its a total wastage of money.!
This place takes me to the devine peaceSo come and feel it
Only if we the people could keep it clean.
Excellent 👌❤️
Soo peaceful
Wrost bridge because of its partition and it is over the samshan ghat which also use to give a negative impact on tourists

Janaki setu is hope for rishikesh, this bridge is a suspension bridge and joines two banks of ganga at poornanand ghaat to ved niketan ghaat. This is a heavy duty bridge. It is named after lakshman jhoola and raam jhoola. This bridge will help locale and tourist and pilgrim too.
Very good
Engineering at its peak☺
Charging 100rs for parking and no one managing the parking space. ChorPalika. For a new bridge they could made it larger or one way walking at least if not enabling 4 wheeler on the bridge.
