This is for Thira Rishikesh: To he honest there are way better places than Thira in Rishikesh for the price range, amenities, service and overall everything. I had stayed in 5 hostels so far here and this is the only place that has rooms without ventilation and charge extra for using washing machine (200/- per usage). Internet doesnt work. Do have a look at other places before you come here. Happy travelling! Stay safe! Avoid Thira!

The stay was so fantastic and friendly. We were offered shared kitchen and rooftop for parties. The owner and staff are so cooperative and helpful at any time. My next Hostel will be Thira only if I plan for next Rishikesh trip. They also have a cute puppy with which visitors can spend some time with him. My experience with Thira is 10/10 😍

Please don’t complain to the Police. The owner/staff giving too much free drinking, free smoking, free drugs to give 5 star reviews for this hostel in Rishikesh. I was offered Bacardi Rum with Coco-Cola and they ask me giving them 5 star reviews. Wow I said no problem and now I am giving them 5 star reviews. Serious yoga students don’t come here please. If you want free drinking/free smoking and free drugs, then only come here. Its free. The owner/staff are very kind and down to earth people. They just need 5 star reviews and they will give most of everything free from the hostel.

Thira is located at steep-climb in Tapovan and has market access within 100 metres. Its terrace is in itself provides you a scenic view of hills and also offers pleasant views of sunrise and moonrise (yes, it’s a thing at hills). Sufficient amenities are available and are in apt working condition. Kitchen is well-furnished to cook your own meals, having an in-house café (preferably on rooftop) would add to the experience. Though bathrooms have a mug, it’d be good if they can be paired with a bucket as well. Considering not to pick any vector-borne diseases on a trip, mosquitos need to be managed in the dorms. Parking is definitely free, prefer not to carry your vehicle due to basic parking facility.Reception is warm and friendly, courteous enough to offer flexible check-in check-outs. Overall decent place to stay for backpackers.

Staff was amazing. Really liked the arrangements, I arrived during winters so the room was quite warm and the comforter they provided was pretty warm too. Must stay for cheaper price. Dorms are easily available.

It was an amazing experience in thira, I had just book for one night but after I stayed almost a week. Really love the vibes of the hostel. If you plan for Rishikesh and looking for a comfortable place then you must stay in thira.

Just came here for few days to spent in Rishikesh after few days Government announced the lockdown, the price of the hostel were already cheaper and in that amount they were providing complimentary breakfast, the environment of the hostel is amazing almost everyday there is an event of music and dance or travelers gathering and fruit parties, Yoga sessions and so on. But because I came here to travel for few days so I did not had so much money at hand so I talked to the manager of the hostel and told him to lower the price for the dorm so that I could stay longer untill the lockdown gets over and they gave me permission to stay in the hostel in almost half the amount of what I was paying earlier with all the facilities. Thanks for hosting and all the memories that I made in Thira.

I happened to come across this listing while searching for budget places in Rishikesh. After reading an overwhelming majority of positive reviews, i locked in my myself for a one night stay.Upon arrival, i was immediately met by Gurahv, a kind, humorous and local intellect with a smile and heart bigger than Rishikesh. He kindly informed of the happenings at the lodging. The next day i met the other 3 star members who make the magic happen at this place.Booking another night, Gurahv asked for me to share my feedback. He listened to my suggestions attentively, without bias or displeasure. We talked at great length on hospitality and other issues.Tonight is my third night staying here and i honestly beleive Gurahv will work to bring to fruition my recommendationsThis is a hostel with a great vibe, (clean, but with room for improvements, i e bathroom and room ventilation) and prime location. The wifis good but the radius should be extended to provide clients with a faster experience.

Budget friendly hostel with clean & tidy space, the common room ll turn to a play station in the night.Thanks to the shared kitchen, a must facility for long stay backpackers & missing thing in most hostels.

For the price of the place you got what you needed. The staff were attentive, the people were welcoming, the downstairs has a communal area which provides a place for meeting like minded individuals. The beds weren’t hard like most hostels and they sorted me out a room very quickly which was super convenient. The hostel has a roof terrace also perfect for meditation. Swarj really helped my stay here by being so informative :)

Had a great stay here. The place is clean, the common area is cozy and a great place to hang out and meet other people. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great location-- just a short walk to the Lakshman Jhula bridge. Would definitely stay here again if I return to rishikesh.

Wherever I go in India, I look for a place to stay that is good walking distance from great food (Ira’s Cafe, Sun and Shine cafe, and Tulsi) and where I’ll be surrounded by people with good vibes. This place has both. Swaraj filled the hostal with relaxing music, interesting conversation, and great company. He is an instant friend to everyone who stays at Thira and I left India feeling like I had made a home in Rishikesh. Oh and the price for a clean, comfy dorm room cannot be beat.

Great upcoming place in Rishikesh, just next to Tapovan and a 2 min walk from the main street. Great for chilling and relaxing during the day. The staff was very friendly - they were very forthcoming to help me with any questions I had. I think a big bonus was that I was able to park my car in the hostel keeping it secure. Keep it up guys!

Thira is a great hostel option in Tapovan. Very calm and relaxed vibes with helpful staff always available. Great value for the stay and even discounted rates possible for long term stays. Convenient kitchen available to cook your own meals just off of the common room area as well! Highly recommend.

Well my experience at thira was amazing as it is a hostel which treats you like family even if you stay for a day, you will experience the best homestay like feeling.. I was there on my birthday with no major plans but the awesome and happening common room with great people and friendly management made my day.. it was like people celebrated my birthday as a reason to be there at that moment and probably one of the most amazing experience I had on my birthday.P.S. --The Host--Abi and Abilash are such AWESOME host during my stay here in Thira. Not only they are friendly but also welcoming me like a family. I get to sit down and have home cooked Indian cuisine with them at dinner. I get to learn how to make Daal and chapati during my stay, shout out to Rakesh too for being such good cook! They will attend to your needs immediately and they share a lot of useful local tips about travelling around India. It is host like both of them that makes your hostel experience much better.-- The Environment & Location --The surrounding of the hostel is wonderful. It featured a wide semi outdoor seating common work-space where you can work on your laptop comfortably or simply lay around and read a book. Most of the hostel here only have common area that offer seating on the floor and not comfortable enough to work long hours. Also, it has good air circulation with natural wind and light. It is located conveniently at the upper area of Tapovan and its not too far of a walk from market, yet, far enough to be away from all the noise.-- The Room & Facilities --The dorm is basic but its clean. A cleaner will clean the room everyday. Hot shower is always working, with consistent water pressure. The host use a special kind of bed which is neither too hard or soft, it is comfortable for your back! I had wonderful sleep after a 35 hours bus journey from Nepal. The common kitchen is easily accessible with FOC refillable water. Wifi is fast & working 24/7. Thira also do movie nights and yoga morning in the common hall, they have activities for travelers so everyone could enjoy the place like home !

When i first booked i was a little skeptical about this place but when we arrived here my view was totally changed.. staff is super friendly and helpful (especially swaraj). He sorted out the rooms quickly and guided us to the places we can see here and it helped a lot. Rooms were clean and the balcony view was amazing. If youre feeling lazy or its too cold outside you can cook your own food in common kitchen area. Sushi night was crazy, it was fun preparing and eating after 😁. The amount we paid as tarrif is pretty reasonable. I highly recommend Thira for anyone traveling to Rishikesh(Tapovan).

Great affordable hostel in a quiet location situated in the hills of Tapovan. Walking distance to the main tourist area but far enough away to escape the chaos. There is a great group of young indian guys and girls who run this hostel and bring a warm energy to the place. They are more than willing to give you recommendations on things to do it the area too!Hope to see you legends again soon!Lachy.

Best place stay for night in reasonable price.

The room and the washroom was neat and clean and the staff had a good behavior. Initially I had a small check in in issue.The facilities was also good in this property. Apart form he mentioned issue I had a good stay in the property.

I left a very honest review about the bad electricity, weak WiFi signals, water and plumbing issues- the fact there’s no lockers or charging outlets in the dorms, and received a WhatsApp message threatening me to take down my “false reviews”, none of the complaints were addressed but they threatened me and called me ugly for it? Lol you can stay somewhere way better for this price. Rishikesh is awesome! Check out some of the different hostels, this isn’t anything more than a very very very basic guesthouse.

No water. No light, no chairs. I was must do shower in another room two times... because in my room was no water. I tried to speak with owner but she just shouted on me. No recommend . Very expensive hostel with a lot of problems.I expected a small apology but received false details in response. The problem in this owners response is that I do not drink alcohol and do not use drugs.The use of the usual cigarettes in the room was in advance agreement of the owners. I also talked to her politely and even when she started to get annoyed I pointed out that I do not fight with her I just explain what is wrong. The place expects only pleasant responses and does not get criticized as the reaction. Too bad that lying is the way of the place to say sorry for the inconvenience.

A normal hotel where a lot of tourists live, there is always someone to talk to; there are separate rooms and rooms with 6-10 beds; quite clean; a kitchen where there are a lot of utensils; but small 2-3 people; nice. On the roof you can do yoga or dry things)) To cook something in the kitchen in the morning or in the evening you have to wait a long time for many people to fall into such a small kitchen
