I have completed my 200 hour TTC here. It has the best studio in town and I feel so lucky that I had a chance to get lessons fromYogi Mahesh. He is a master guru. Training was demanding and highly qualified. All (theory and practice) is explained with clarity. The place is outside the crowd of touristy area, so you can have a great peaceful time. It is near the forest and a waterfall.. very nice and quiet. Everything is nice, clean, open and I am grateful to have been to this school. I recommend it highly.

I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at AYM and had an excellent time! The school is located up a small hill out of the hustle and bustle of the main streets and is surrounded by greenery and fresh winds. The teachers were knowledgable and made classes educational and fun. The facilities were excellent and everything you need is within walking distance. Mahesh is truly invested in sharing the yogic lifestyle beyond just asanas and was a pleasure to learn from! I highly recommend this school!

My Fiance and I have just completed our 200hr TTC at the AYM Yoga School- We have to say we feel so grateful and blessed to have found this school, it was an amazing experience and more than what we wished for. The course is great- it isnt forced upon you which teaches you to exercise your own self discipline (part of the yogic practice) and the staff are amazing... the teachers are so knowledgeable, they are kind, they are caring and they make the experience so genuine. We have never been to Rishikesh or India before and staying at this school made the trip and we definitely want to return to the same school for our 300 hour course. The only thing we would say to be aware of is nothing to do with the school- it is just some of the students! As there are people here from all of the world, mostly Western, it is easy to fall in to western patterns in terms of attitude and expectations! Remember that you are in India, accept it, embrace it, love it! Celebrate every day here. Dont get caught up in any negative attitudes that can go on behind the scenes!! Work to live the yogic practices. Be kind, be grateful and be positive. If you are looking for a yoga school, the AYM yoga school is 100% recommended by us for all of the courses that they offer!

The location of AYM is very convenient for the students. Quite place to learn, great if you need to focus on meditation and the teachings. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with bathroom. You can choose to stay in double or single accommodation and the view is beautiful. At the same time the school is so close to town, just 10 minutes down you can find anything you need: book stores, music stores, all types of vendors, places to eat, etc. All vegetarian meals were prepare freshly and with a lot of care.I had the chance to learn Hatha Yoga with Yogi Mahesh. We learn how important is the alignment and why we need to do the proper corrections. Some days you will feel so tired some days you will feel that you can continue easily. Never regret any single moment of this whole experience, even when I felt exhausted Im grateful to had the chance to learn from our teachers. The lectures are made in a practical and understandable way. Everyday we learned more and more, then you understand how beautiful and deep is yoga, how great is being a yoga teacher and the responsibility to bring yoga in the right way to your current/future students.

I have just completed the 500 hour course at AYM and I am so glad that I chose this school to train myself as a yoga teacher. What I have experienced over the past 3 months in this school over exceeded my expectations in many ways. It has been a deep transformational journey: I am sensing deep in the benefits of the yoga practice at all levels : in my body, in my mind, in heart and in my soul. I can feel and I am being told that the energy that radiates out of me is so much healthier and happier than it was when I arrived. I am only starting to realize that I am experiencing what Yoga is all about : a combination of practices that take a holistic, integral development approach to our health and happiness. At AYM, teachers bring a broad range of complementary fields of expertise - physical practice of Asanas, anatomy, history and philosophy, spirituality of YOGA - that allow us to understand how Yoga can make a difference in all dimensions of our being - Body, Heart (emotions), Mind, Energy, Consciousness. At BODY level, we are learning and experiencing here the power of cleansing the body, removing toxins with traditional Kriyas practices, the effect of removing energy blockages and stimulating the flow of ENERGY with breathing exercises, intense Ashtanga Yoga practice; we learn how to improve our postural alignment in all the fundamental Asanas in a very precise, practical, scientific way which makes a huge difference in our ability to perform and hold postures, enhance the physical and physiological benefits and considerably reduce the risk of injury; at AYM, I have learnt how the practice of Pranayama and the mastery of the breath could calm down my EMOTIONS, balance my energy and become able to more effectively master my MIND and my behaviors in daily life; I discovered very helpful relaxation techniques, and experienced how much easier it is to meditate when we regularly perform all of these practices and train ourselves to master our body and mind. In a nutshell, AYM allowed me to understand intellectually and experience practically the empowering effect of YOGA at physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, and see the difference it makes in my daily life: I feel more confident, more stable, more open, more rooted, more positive, more cheerful, with a clearer and more creative mind, ready to leap into life, and to share these benefits with others. Mahesh, the founder of this school is passionate about imparting his deep knowledge, experience and very high technical mastery of Asanas to students and help us to understand and experience the holistic and empowering benefits of Yoga that can be applied in every aspects of our daily life. He radiates a joyful, positive, powerful energy that is inspiring. If you want to improve your Asanas you will learnt a lot here, and if you want to learn much more than Asanas, you will take away even more by studying at AYM.

I graduated last week after a month on the 200hr course. I am a beginner and thought it the best place to learn from scratch before going into teaching. The course takes you across the history, physiology, psychology, meditation and cleansing. The whole yoga lifestyle in fact. Most of the teachers are experienced and passionate. You will be given a bag with your books (take a file and extra notebooks to write in and some good pens as you need to write down a lot) a netty jug and string and photocopies of the sun salutations and asanas for Ashtanga. You need to learn these for one of your exams. You will get lessons to teach and exams in the last two weeks. The place is very picturesque and surrounded by mountains and a river and waterfall is nearby so take plenty of mosquito cream/spray as they bite you even during practice!A typical day is: wake at 6.00ammeditation at 06.30Masala milky tea at about 08.00Ashtanga Yoga Practice 08.15Breakfast 10.00Lectures/teaching 11.00 ishLunch 1.00 pmLectures 2.00 pmTea 4.00 pmHatha Yoga and alignment/correction 5.15 pmDinner 7.00 pmStudy time 7.30-9.00 pmSleep 10.00 pmI found it hard to go to meditation on an empty stomach but thats the best way sometimes I ate a banana on some days that I bought at the fruit shop at the bottom of the hill. It also helped with my upset stomach which I had often especially after the stomach cleansing where we had to drink bowl upon bowl of warm salt water. You can buy toilet rolls from the little shop on the corner outside AYM.PLEASE be advised as they dont tell you....you will have to clean your own dishes and rooms. Do some laundry yourself so take some soap old clothes to wear and old towels and leave them behind. Its humid and hot at times so talc and facecloths help when practicing in the hall. There are fans but the electricity goes off a lot!If you want to buy Mala Beads you can bargain the sellers down and there is a guy who comes to the AYM and can make them for you. His shop is over the bridge. The food was very boring at times but some people complained and Mahesh added more veg and paneer to the menu which was better. Many people visited the cafes in town (Wholefood Café is close and good) to eat and use the internet. The lack of hygiene is a bit of a culture shock to westeners but you get used to it.Pay with cash if possible and make sure you dont pay an extra 100 dollars for the air con. Take some ear plugs as the stray dogs bark all night. Be patient not a lot will happen immediately. Take extra passport photos for your certificate. It was an enlightening experience.... course is intense yet worthwhile.

The host family stays on the ground floor and feels very safe.It takes about 15 minutes to reach Laksimanzula Bridge, but it is very quiet and cozy. The room is very clean, hot water comes out well, and there is a water purifier so you dont have to buy and drink water. Of course, the owner is also very kind. It feels like renting a house in Rishikesh. If you dont like walking, all other environments are very good~
