I am a resident of the very beautiful village Ganga Bhogpur located inside Rajaji National Park.Rishikesh Triveni Ghat is just 11 km away from our village. Because of which I come here almost daily.Triveni Ghat is a very beautiful place that fascinates the mind.Due to the confluence of three rivers here, it is considered a sacred and revered place. Due to which it is also widely recognized religiously. And in the evening, Ganga Aarti enchants everyone towards them, at that time this scene seems even more beautiful. I will give you a suggestion that whenever you come to Rishikesh, you should definitely bring joy, happiness and grace and blessings from Triveni Ghat.

The Triveni Ghat has religious sentiments attached to it, however, the ghat is not well maintained. You can go for a short walk there and enjoy the flowing water (I would not call it a river). The place might look a bit cozy or not depending on what time you go there. It is the responsibility of individuals to help keep the Triveni Ghat clean and welcoming, but most visitors litter there and dont bother about the cleanliness.

Triveni Ghat is a ghat situated in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. It is the biggest and most famous ghat in Rishikesh at the banks of Ganges. Triveni Ghat remains overcrowded with devotee to take ritual baths to get cleansed from their sins. It is believed that the ghat was visited by Lord Krishna when he got hurt by the arrow of Jara – a hunter. Being the most venerated ghat in Rishikesh, Triveni Ghat is even used by devotees to perform the last rites and rituals of their loved ones. The ghat is famed for the Ganga aarti performed to the chants of Vedic hymns. The sight of oil leaves, filled with diya and petals, which are released by devotees, floating on the pristine Ganga and the traditional aarti is a sight to behold. On the bank of Triveni Ghat, one can visit the Gita Mandir and Lakshminarayan Temple. Dawn boat ride along the Ganges is a must on a short tour to Triveni Ghat.

The most popular attraction of this ghat is the everyday event of event Ganga Aarti where River Goddess Ganga is worshipped on a daily basis. This event is also termed as Maha Aarti. A huge, amazing and memorable affair, this prayer ceremony is attended by a huge number of devotees as well as visitors. One of the most popular bathing spots in Rishikesh, Triveni ghat is the confluence of three holy rivers- Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. However, the ghat lies by river Ganges. During the aarti, the priests hold a huge lamp containing several oil-lit diyas and rotate their hands in circular motion, worshipping the River. This action is accompanied by bells, beating drums, and chanting of bhajans. In the end, diyas (earthen lamps) are kept on flower-filled leaf boats and are released into the holy waters. The whole event of sound and light is simply unforgettable. Do not forget to capture this awe-inspiring as well as soothing event in your cameras.

Triveni translates to mean the confluence of three and this ghat marks the point where three holy rivers, the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati, meet. It is a popular Hindu pilgrimage site with the water here believed to have the power to wash away your sins and purify your soul.Wander along the tranquil river bank and view an array of spectacular statues and fountains. The largest of these depicts the Lord Krishna riding in a golden chariot that is being pulled by three white horses. Set on a high plinth by the water this statue is visible from all around the area. Take a seat by the river and gaze along the valley or practice some yoga in peace.

A beautiful, quite & a serene place to enjoy the early mornings or the evenings by the Holy Ganga river !!Everyday in the evening, just after the Sunset, Ganga Aarti is performed for about 30 mins. It is a Spectacular sight to watch the Aarti which will definitely give you Goosebumps !!!There is a special pooja ticket for Rs 300 per head, which allows you some special privileges but otherwise, entry is free here on Triveni ghat. One needs to come early & occupy their seats (1st & 2nd row reserved for special pooja ticket holders) so he/she can watch the Aarti clearly. At the entrance to this ghat, there are few vendors who sell a small tockry (U shaped bowl) made of leaves filled with flowers, incense sticks & a cotton batti. During the Ganga Aarti, one can light up this batti & sing along & do Ganga Aarti with this tockry. On completion of the Aarti, one can leave this tockry in the river which floats away with the flowing water.A magnificent Spiritual experience is awaiting you...जय मां गंगे !!!
