I havnt had indian food since the pandemic started. Pretty good food. Should have asked if they could make the dishes a bit more spicy. The samosas were dry. Other than that the fish, lamb and chicken were cooked perfectly. Naan tasty. First place in rio where the rice wasnt wet. Mango Lassi the best Ive had in a while. Wish they had indian beer but honestly the beer they offered is better. The Colorado was very good. Service was excellent. Thats saying something in rio where the staff rarely deserves the included service charge. Beautifully decorated resteraunt. Id reccomend this place.

Ive had Indian food in quite a few countries and including food prepared by Indian chefs. The Taj Mahal restaurant is easy up there with the good ones. They have a really cosy and inviting atmosphere and the service is superb. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. The variety on the menu isnt too big but what they do offer is really well prepared. Pricing is reasonable.Definitely a 5 star option in Rio.

It is an expensive Indian restaurant. The food is good, although I think they adapted too much to Brazilian taste that the food could be called almost bland - I had to add pepper. We stayed outside at the porch, the tables inside had all been booked to a large group of Indians that arrived after us, so I cannot comment on the decor. I was thirsty after desert, and I had to ask three times to have water brought to me - maybe the large group taxed the staff, but the experience could be nicer. If the tab was half of what it was then it would merit five stars. For what I paid I expected better service.

Great Food, Excellent Service. Staff was a light on a Friday night so ordering process took a bit of time, but the server spoke English so helped expediate my usually ordering process of using Google Translate. Also a little on the expensive side compared to other places, but definitely worth it. I recommend the Chicken Tikka.

Had high hopes for this place based on other reviews here. But unfortunately my wife and I were disappointed. We are both vegetarian so went for the somosas, these were reasonable in taste. We both also enjoy paneer dishes in general, so went for the malai paneer tikka starter too. Upon arrival of the dish, something didnt look right about the colour. Having tried a bit, I felt cheated that it was in fact ricotta cheese and not paneer (those who know, know that both of these are created differently) . Based on this, we went for channa masala as the main. Again this was lacking in taste and nothing like a dish of this name I have tried anywhere else. As a vegetarian I was hopeful of this restaurant and one that I could make multiple visits to - unfortunately not to be.Waiters or management did not ask if/how we enjoyed our food. But I did asked the waiter, questioning the paneer, but he said it was paneer.NB: I am from the UK, where there is a abundance of Indian restaurants and I have been to 10s if not 100s of different ones. I have also tried this cuisine in other various countries around the world. Also have an Indian background.

This is a very nice restaurant. Colorful, clean, with nice service and not too prohibitingly expensive servings. This is Brazilian-Indian, which turns out to be somewhat different from the Indian food elsewhere in the world. The food lacks the punch .. but luckily they have give you a range of spicy pepper sauces to add yourself. Those do pack a punch, so be gentle, or regret it for the rest of your meal.We had chicken tandoori and also a kind of schrimp. The food is served in genuine Indian style cups (I suspect they import this stuff) and there is a certain charm that I liked. The best was the chicken, after adding appropriate amounts of pepper, and with cold beer it was a threat.Recommended

One of the most disappointing Indian restaurants we have ever been to. Restaurant doesnt provide authentic Indian food at all.Chicken 65 and fish appetizer were essentially fried and battered pakodas. No spices or taste.Biryani was ok. Butter chicken was not good. Kheer was sour.Dont have many options for authentic Indian food in Rio so they can get by easily. Would not recommend for Indian food.Ambience was good though.

pior experiΓͺncia de sempre - nΓ£o confunda esta experiΓͺncia de comida indiana genuΓna.Today is the second time I am visiting and I must summarize the experience as ok , just moderate at its best .I try and eat at Indian restaurants all over the globe and have extensively ate in India, and this restaurant serves food which is sort of similar , but no were close when It comes to the taste and spice as such.Without being offensive , I would also politely put it as fake Indian food , and thats a genuine description of the 2 times I have been here so far .So if you are coming here for a authentic experience - I will warn you - the food is nothing close to authentic .I had the desert on the second day and the gulab jamun texture was like rubber , it boils my blood on why this restaurant even gets good reviews - probably because there are no other options .

I dont know if its true as I didnt meet or see him. The menu is completely with Indian cuisine dishes. The receipe may be the same and are customised for Brazilians. I didnt feel the authentic taste of Indian species. However I ate that food after many days and I liked it. Butter naan are fried more and I felt that taste is disturbed due to that.
