My boyfriend and I just got home from a 90 minute couples massage at Awaken, and its my new favorite massage studio. The place was clean and smelled lovely, like coming home to ginger snaps baking in the oven. Caroline and Kendall did an amazing job. My boyfriend can be a bit picky about massages, and Kendall was doing such a good job on me (I literally thought through most of the massage omg I love this woman, shes SO GOOD) that I was almost feeling bad that I got her, hoping that he was happy with his massage therapist . At the end however, my boyfriends lack of tension and ease of movement told me that Caroline did wonderfully on him as well. They do cupping (which was new to me, but seems therapeutic and was interesting), and offer dry brushing, hot towels, and hot stone treatments free of charge. We went for the cupping and hot towels. Kendall even rubbed my feet and hands, which many massage therapists in the past have skipped and led me to scheduling reflexology appointments. My boyfriend has been sanding and painting constantly with my occasional help, but I cater events a lot, so we both have quite a bit of tension in our shoulders, necks, and are on our feet A LOT. We came home feeling much better! Kendall spent a good amount of time on my neck and traps, which have been pretty tense and sore lately. She applied the perfect amount of pressure to points that really had an effect! Mainly my neck, hips, feet, and hands. I feel great! Thank you ladies, we will be back.

I usually dont do Google reviews but I absolutely love this place! So easy to make an appointment and Kendall is the best masseuse I have ever had. The location is great, lots of parking available, easy check-in and check out process. Following all safety protocols related to COVID and I feel 100% safe going there. Highly recommend!

I had a 90 minute prenatal massage with Annie and it was incredible! She paid attention to all of the areas I needed work on and the pressure was perfect. I’m used to deep tissue and sports massages when not pregnant, and have continued weight lifting while pregnant and she found the perfect balance to be both effective and safe. Can’t wait to use her postpartum also!

My wife gifted me a 4 hands massage for Fathers Day. This was possibly the best massage Ive ever had. Annie and Caroline worked so well together in unison, at times it felt like there was really one person with 4 hands! They explained everything I should expect and also asked about key areas I wanted them to focus on. Clean and comfortable environment, highly recommend.

The environment was relaxing and beautiful. Annie was my massage therapist and she was so great! She communicated so well with me to ensure I had the best quality massage. I loved the consult at the end also and how she recommended ways to treat some of my muscle issues at home. That made the experience very genuine and didn’t give off the “you have to keep spending your money here” vibe. It may not be the most inexpensive option, but the price is good for the quality.

Kendall is one of the best massage therapists I’ve ever had. In my experience getting massages some things can be awkward or uncomfortable but not with Kendall! everything is graceful and she uses the perfect pressure, she knows her stuff. I love that she offers cupping and hot stones. I appreciate her calming, quiet and relaxed disposition.

What a wonderful spot! I’ve been seeing Annie for over a year now and have never been to someone who works on me the way she does! She finds every single spot on my body that’s bothering me (sometimes I don’t even know that it’s there but she finds it) she amazes me with her knowledge about the human body. I had a massage with Annie Hoilman and it was so unique! Her style involves these amazing range of motion movements with the shoulders. I wish I could see a video of her doing those moves so I could study them and learn how to do them myself. The massage was vigorous for the first half and then her intention seemed to shift and I went into a trance. This isnt just a massage, its an experience. I highly recommend Annie!

I recently got a 60 min massage from Annie. She did a great job helping with an ongoing back spasm and even located another issue lower in my back that I hadn’t noticed yet. She was attentive and made sure all pressures were ok throughout the experience without being disruptive to the relaxation. My back immediately and in the days since has felt sooo much better. She let me know what ongoing care would be helpful for my specific issues but wasn’t at all pushy in trying to get me to schedule future appointments. I will definitely be back to see her soon!

Ryan Greene and his team are exceptional! I’ve worked with Ryan for over a year and highly - highly recommend him. I was referred to Ryan through a friend while recovering from a stroke. I explained my health issues and concerns. Ryan listened and did amazing work. Each session was different- his intuition is impressive. His combination of reiki and massage work are so unique and impressive-I am convinced he is positively responsible for a large portion of my recovery. Sounds strange- but anyone who has experienced nerve damage or spasm understands this type of “unique” pain. It’s hard to describe, but numbness is the norm. During his sessions I experienced true “awakening” and left his sessions in utter amazement. No medication provided this type of relief. I could feel sensations in areas where there was nerve damage/repair. I cannot express my true joy to be able feel again. My results might not be typical - but I am grateful to find this treatment in RVA. Since then I’ve referred friends and strangers. A few times I had to schedule with other members of his team and they were also excellent. His new location is an excellent upgrade.

My girlfriend was suffering from sciatic pain related to pregnancy. Ryan was able to provide relief from the pain for her with a prenatal massage and she was able to walk again. So I “accidentally “ went there when needing just neck and shoulder massage to ease out kinks related to work. However ended up going back for 75 , then 90 minute massage. Ryan is quite good at anticipating your needs and targeting those areas.Also very good at making you feel comfortable and relaxed. Plus I rarely get massages because I either don’t feel any better afterwards or the person is not responsive to my needs. So not the case here. I’m now scheduled for my 4th since December. I’ve referred many friends here for both massage and to Tori for waxingAlso had waxing from Tori and she was very personable, quick and really prevented any pain that sometimes happens with waxing.
