I cant recommend this company to anyone in good conscience. Not only was their online ordering system frustrating to deal with when I built my new computer, but the points that you earn from purchasing expire after two years. Seriously?I dont know about you, but I dont normally upgrade my computer that often. I am due to do an upgrade in the next year, but wont ever be purchasing from Canada Computers again.
I had a great experience here. Came in with a specific budget and told them what it was and what I intent to use the computer for. They were able to find the best bang-for-buck parts. Customer service spent even more time on the spot tweaking my component list to provide other options above and below my target price. I already had some components in mind but in the end they were able to get me slightly better parts that were on sale and kept it within my budget. During this entire process, the customer rep would explain his reasoning for his choices for me and his thought process for the parts. Overall was able to get everything without waiting.
I had positive experience at this location. The staff are friendly and helpful. I have been coming to this location for most my computer needs. There are plenty of parking but parking right in front of the store can be challenging during busy hours. But there is a parkade with a few levels of parking available. Inside is spacious and organized.
Bought a brand new unopened item that was defective upon usage, yet this store was not willing to exchange it for a working one or give a refund because the item was opened. I didnt know you could find out that a product is not working as intended WITHOUT OPENING IT.It speaks volumes that Canada Computers would rather make a quick buck off a one-time transaction than to retain customer loyalty. Save yourself the trouble and purchase elsewhere with a better return policy. By the way, what is the point of having a phone number for your store if nobody answers it?
I know their reputation is not good, but I decided to buy all my parts here for a recent build, rather than going to a bunch of other different stores, and online. My experience in store was OK. Customer service after the purchase was not good at all, terrible communication, no explanation, ignoring a part of my inquiry twice. CC Rewards is completely useless as its not applicable to almost anything you actually buy. Price protection is pointless when it doesnt apply to something on sale.I will never go back here, dont waste your time.
We always end up buying parts here because it’s the only only shop near by. Prices are fine but retuning things can be a problem. Worst part is the customer service. There is none to speak of and people in the shop really don’t care or look like they want to be there. This has been the case for the last four years and nothing has really changed. It’s obvious the company does not care. Too bad they don’t realize it hurts their business. As soon as we can find an alternative shop near by with better service we will go there.
Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Good pricing, competitive with whatever you can find online. No GPUS in stock.... Like the rest of the world 😂.... But huge stars for the people in this location.
Funny thing, final sales. Nobody told me that before or after purchase. Refused return for non-used item. Nice try. Buyer beware with the receipt. The small tiny front is important!
Initial purchase was a wonderful experience, great customer service, however when we went back to try and upgrade the staff were not helpful at all. Hard to get ahold of anyone to answer our questions. Really disappointed.
They always have cheaper deal compare to other suppliers. If you running business this is place for purchase.
I don’t even know why I keep coming back to buy stuff from here anymore lol. I highly recommend going somewhere else like memory express to buy PC related things. More often then not you’ll get terrible customer service in store. The employee that I talked to today seemed like he was talking down to me and it felt like he didn’t even really want me there. Please do yourself a favour and go somewhere else
The most helpful, kind, outgoing personnel ever. Even though the part I was looking for was no big expense (an adapter for an old laptop) the gentleman did not give up until he found the exact item that I needed. It took about 40 minutes of him having to try different solutions until he found the right one.
Great place. Fair prices and very good customer service and after sales service.
Bought a monitor that was defective, called in and told me I can bring it in for a replacement. Disassembled a 20lb monitor and lugged it all the way to their store for their manager to suddenly tell me nope in the most condescending and rude way possible. They then tell me they can do me a favor and replace it if I call Samsung to validate the issue.A week later and a lot of phone calls with Samsung, I return back to the store with my monitor AGAIN only to be told nope we never said that, and youre now out of your warranty period. I am now stuck with a broken monitor that I paid a grand for, and 2 wasted trips to and from the store. Trash place with a rude lying manager, my friends and I will never buy anything from here again.
Great selection for all your computer needs need and more. Im glad to see the are taking covid seriously and limit the number of people that can enter the store at one. The prices are also pretty good when they have their sales happening. Overall I cant complain about my experience at the store in Richmond.
I went here to get my laptop fix. Paid the usual $50 for Diagnostic. I already knew that my laptop has a Blue sceen of death, might need a new windows to install because it might be corrupted and its got an over heating problem. They gave me a phone call a few days later to give me my exact Diagnostics and gave me a RIDICULOUS Quote to fix my laptop of $700. They told me its $175 for Windows when my laptop has Windows 10 already, $75/$99 Data Recovery either software or hardware, $200 for parts $250 for labor. When I went to pick up my laptop. I asked the Manager whats wrong with my laptop again? he has no clue and just told me to call back on monday to speak with the same guy. This manager didnt seem to care. Youre a Manager and you have no clue whats going on? Why didnt the technician leave a note about what is going on with my laptop? This is just TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. So I decided to go to GeekSquad instead and had them give me a Quote first. They told me since I already have windows 10 its all Digital and they can just install it. They just advised me to upgrade my hard drive which i did and they told me all you have to do is put a thermal paste in the cpu to prevent over heating. and They fix my laptop for $20/mo minimum 1 year and still worked out to be $240. Best part is, if you have other Laptops or PC you are also covered to bring it in and you are covered for the whole year. Way better customer service than CC and they seem to be more knowledgable. NEVER COMING BACK TO CANADA COMPUTERS.
Please shop at Memory Express instead if you want to support Canadian business. This company is awful. Amazon or Best Buy will also treat you right.I cant really speak to the people who staff the store. In my experiences, they have been knowledgeable and nice, although they never answer the phone. HOWEVER, Canada Computers as a company has some terrible rules and customer service. They dont accept returns or exchanges on anything if the box has been opened unless its obviously defective, in which case they charge a restocking fee. Im left with a product I cant use but am forced to keep, and pay again for the right one. A ridiculous policy set by their corporate masters which does nothing but screw over customers. In addition, their website advertises price matching but they refuse to honour it.A shoddy alternative to NCIX.
DO NOT PLACE ORDERS FROM THE SERVICE SIDEOrdered a 3080 and this location never called to notify me that it had arrived. Instead, they had somehow lost me on the waitlist and I only found out by going in store since they never answer the phone. I now have to wait an additional 3 weeks.Anyone placing an order make sure you do not place your order on the service desk side. They will not check service desk orders and you will not be contacted.
Wanted to buy a monitor thats not on display, but the stoee has a stupid policy that all items are final sale.
I should have listened to my friend when he said this place had the worst costumer service hes ever seen, apart from their staff being incredibly unprofessional, they also never answer the phone as it rings for hours in front of them. lazy and unprofessional
Cancelled my order after 6 months of waiting. Great staff at the location. Corporate is really bad.
Do not use these guys, twice ive gone in for upgrades/repairs and they rip you off with extra fees. Guy tells me I need to pay for diagnostics and pay again for same day service I agree.. and then when it comes time to pay, the cost is higher than what he told me. I go to the vancouver store, diagnostics FOR FREE. Offered to swap parts and rebuild for flat 50 bucks, not 150 + 40 for a water cooling unit + 100 for same day service. What a rip off. Stay far far away from this location. Go to the others, m much better service and they wont nickel and dime you
I came to get my chair I reserved but didnt bring the paper they printed out for me a week earlier which was my fault, I pointed to the chair in the box that was waiting for me but the cashier took a while looking it up on his screen until realizing he was looking for the wrong chair. He could had just walked over to my side, looked at where I pointed and read the box title, that would be common sense customer service and save 7-10 min of time. Turned out they spent that time sending me text msg that its ready for pickup..right in front of me.Then after paying for it, he just gave me the wheel cart thing and didnt even load it up for me until he saw me struggling for a moment almost tipping the whole box over.He says he has a bad knee or something and his co-worker comments about it instead of helping me or finding someone that can help push it for me.I worked in retail before and if I was in their shoes, I wouldnt make excuses, I would find someone to help bring it to the car or at least outside the door.Other than that, they have lots of inventory and my bro even got a height adjustable table from them. The Canada computer chair is very nice though because it has a footrest and just as good as the $600 chair for half the price.great products but poor service. My dad was angry to see no one helping me. Soo many bad customer service reviews here its almost funny in a sad way.
Only reason Im giving a 1 star is because they never pick up the phone like never and its annoying when you have a question to ask. The service in store is slow, but the employees are very nice. I was looking to buy a 3060ti and Darren helped me with find the right one to get. Still waiting on the call to come pick it up since its on back order. Also, there prices are much lower than memory express for all the graphics cards. Memory express has them marked up about $20-$40 more expensive.
Very experienced Tech store
Theyve always been pretty good. Ive bought a laptop here and a bunch of other things. The current negative reviews here seem a little immature. Cant imagine its been an easy year working here. Great prices and selection so I could care less about being treated like royalty as some whiny babies here seem to expect.
Went here to try to get a price match on a PC component. The cashier simply told me no price matching even though the website states Canada Computers & Electronics will guarantee their price compared to any authorized local Canadian dealer. He then proceeded to say I was wrong and pointed me to a small piece of text saying that this was no longer the case. Not only is the website misleading, the cashier was rude and refused to provide any explanation as to why, except that I was wrong.Update your website and be more polite to your customers. Thanks for wasting my time, I wont be shopping here again.Go to Memory Express instead. Better deals and better customer service.
Store was clean and neat. Great covid protocols in place. Person helping me was funny and friendly. Definitely like the service here compared to other locations.
Good price on promotions items
Absolutely worst customer service ever! Salesperson and maybe also the store manager have the worst attitude and do not treat customer fair!I specially drove over to this store to pick up an order and the salesperson cared less to look for my order in their system. I had every single document they asked for, but they declined to hand me the order because of a mistake made by THEM!The store said I should cancel my order and leave if i was disappointed.
First time here and I wont be back. They took their sweet time with some customers asking 20 questions about stock but not when I asked them to help me get a product I couldnt find. So I cant say they dont provide good service cause clearly they do to some. =)Ill still with the big box stores like Amazon and Bestbuy
Ive never been to a store with employees who care as little for the customer as Canada Computers, they barely have any staff on hand and the ones that do lack knowledge and manners. They dont price match anymore because of covid-19. Calling their number isnt toll-free and you get to be on hold for hours, with the infinitely repeating at frequent 12 second intervals voice recording that says that your call is very important to us looping over and over again until you lose your patience and hang up. I frequently need computer parts and as much as I can, I avoid giving my business to Canada Computers and I would reccomend you do the same. If you want to be mislead and told false information about what computer hardware you should purchase or get absolutely milked for all your money go to Canada Computers! 0/5 rating if I could but since there is no option they get 1 star.
We went there yesterday around 5pm looking to purchase a new laptop. When we arrive, there were 2 employees at the cashier 2 more in the other side of the store. We went around the store but nobody really bothered to greet us or even tried to ask if we needed help. We just decided to leave as customer service was really disappointing.
Ridiculous policy of allowing only one patron in store at any time in this arguably sizable store. The most irrational and inefficient social distancing policy for any store that is opened during the COVID-19 pandemic. Expect long waits. Went to neighbouring SONEX Computer, and finished my shopping within minutes.
People behind counter keep to themself and dont know anything about their store. No one comes up to you to ask if you need anything or are looking for anything specific.
Staff dont seem like they want to be there at all.
I’ve been shopping here for years service has gone down hill I’ve just made a 7th purchase from Amazon after waiting a week for my pickup email.. Richmond location is increasingly worse and worse.
I have never been so disrespected in my life and I never feel the need to leave a review but god dam ,their costumer support is the absolute worst of all companies Ive ever had to deal with, i am never buying anything from this place again and I do not recommend anybody to give them any business, they dont deserve a single penny after how they treat their costumers
Best place for PC parts and electronics. Sometimes I just browse the website for fun.
Absolute nightmare to deal with. After all the Canada Computers price scalping controversies, youd think theyd step it up with the customer service but nope. Some businesses deserve to go out of business.
Great service and price. I will definitely go there for any PC needs. Probably buy a chair there soon
Great selection, And somewhat close to me, however they no longer do price matches with places like Amazon or Bestbuy , Which means the next time i want to shop tech i would go elsewhere.
Good store and friendly employees if you need to just show up once in-person. Theyll never answer the phone, no answering machine and no responses to your email. They dont care about their customer.
Fast and helpful service! Competitive price, no price match right now during covid though. Huge selection. All your computer needs in one stop.
Was trying to price match and guy said flat out they dont price match. What the hell type of service is this. Says right on website they will price match. If this is new policy they should update website policy about price matching. I wasted my time and gas going to store. Update your website. :(
Rating: 4/10How much time should you spend here:15-30 minsPricing:$$/$$$$Who to bring here/Suitable for:PC EnthusiastsAdditional features:Great pricing!Good selection of productsCons:Boring, sad, slobby staff. Except the one guy with glassesSlow order prep (back ordered something 2 weeks ago, still hasn’t arrived)Small storeParking Situation:Free parking is available onsite
Staff are rude and provided poor advice which led me to purchase and attempt to install a product. It didnt work, and now I cant return it due to their attrocious return policy. Thanks for the $200 paperweight. Taking my business back to Memory Express.
Dont go to the TECH CARE for computer repairs. Or $60 for a lie. I went there for a computer diagnosis because i trusted them than other smaller repair stores. After the diagnosis was done, they told me that the CPU, VIDEO CARD AND MOTHERBOARD were DAMAGED due to leaking from the water cooling system. However it turned out to be a lie. Only the motherboard need to be REPLACED.
Absolutely terrible business policies and misleading products. I went to go pick up a displayport to HDMI cable, and the employees recommended me this iCan branded one telling me that it supports 1080p and high refresh rate. Yet after I bought it and went home it did not support my 2540x1080 29 inch ultrawide monitor nor 75hz. The worst part is that due to their return policy I cannot return this terrible product that costs 25 dollars(imagine paying 25 dollars for a HDMI cable) and Im stuck with it. Ive tried contacting Canada Computers hq through phone and they never pick up nor was the leave a message option working as it just lead to multiple beeps, and the online ticket system doesnt work too as if they do not care about their customers at all. Its not even about the return of the product at this point, but it is the way they treat their customers that causes this frustration. Overall 0 star experience and this company will never see a penny from me again, I recommend everyone to stay away and to chose other alternatives instead. (All of the iCan products are garbage)
I ordered a new product online for in-store pick up. I then find out that this product is an open box item and they are trying to sell it to me for the same price as a brand new one. Pretty unbelievable.
Large store with huge inventory for all your computer needs. Prices were competitive
I shop here for my self and my business quite often. The experiences are fine most of the times. However, I did have some glitches here and there. Like once I was standing in front of a cashier waiting for check out, the guy just asked another customer right behind me, just like I was transparent. And another time, when buying a QNAP NAS, the staff told me that the NAS would be a final sale since its a storage device. When I opened the NAS package at home, it was apparently an open box. The scotch tape on plastic bag was broken, full of finger prints on the glossy surface of the NAS, dust was not even wiped clean.... Anyway, I will probably still go sometimes if its urgent to buy some stuff, but if its not in a rush, I will definitely go with Amazon or other stores.
They hardly ever answer the phone. They CANCELLED everybody orders for the 6800 XT who lined up on release day and prepaid over a month in advance.
Not a bad shop, workers are fairly pleasant in person and generally helpful. However, they rarely answer the phone and if they do, most employees sound annoyed or inconvenienced having to do so. Also inconveniently or maybe conveniently for them, theres no answering machine or call waiting set up either. I prefer CC to ME but in general their service has been dropping steadily. No price matching and a broken return policy that is dressed up for covid safety but if the retail clothing industry has been making it work, an electronics store has no excuse. I do feel that this may be a result of management or corporate as in person the CSRs seem to be trying their best with what they have or havent been told.
It has been hard to find a good retail computer store ever since NCIX shut down. This place was not only better but finally we have a competitive option to Memory Express.
I call more then 10times today no one answer the phone.
Had a terrible experience with Canada Computers. Walked in and talked to the sales representative standing around idle. Dude was rude, uncooperative, and extremely reluctant to do their job of looking for a laptop for me. I simply told the guy I’m looking to buy a computer first sentence and I’ve listed down the computer models on this paper. All he had to do was check and see which one has matte screen which I specifically told him that I wanted.Representative was being very uncooperative and I didn’t understand what the problem was on checking if a computer has matte screen or not. I didn’t need to open the box since the boxes have information that tells them whether it’s matte screen or not. If there isn’t they have a computer that tells them. It is a frustrating experience when a customer tells a sales representative how to do their job and get them to do it right. What made the experience worse was that the representative made a sarcastic remark to me as a customer when I told them that I didn’t want a vivobook when he was trying to do hard sales, but decided to make a sarcastic/snide comment about my list having vivobook. I almost walked away after he said that. I figured I only have to deal with him for 15 minutes so I let it go. I don’t recommend customers to buy from this store because of this terrible experience. I will check out the other one on Broadway and see if it’s just this store that has bad customer service.
Got mansplained and gatekeeped by the cashier for 40 minutes when all I wanted was to place a back order. Left without buying anything because nothing was in stock/too over priced.
Great place to buy PC components. Staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help.
Meh experience whenever i shop at this location. Night and day from memory express and bestbuy.
Called everyone of their stores to get ahold of customer service at noon time on a Sunday not a single store answers. Really dont get businesses that dont know how to answer calls
Super helpful employees
It’s just... AMAZING
Great place to shop for electronics.Have got good prices and quality stuff. If you are looking for deals and steal discounts, this is not the place for you.But if you want value for money and transparency in dealing with humans is what you like, then you will live interacting with this Chinese owned Electronic Giant Company
Worst technical services, technical staffs have 0 skill for fixing computer, all they know is charging fees.I brought my computer to here for memory ram upgrading, after couple hours they called me it was done. When I came to pick up my computer, it wasn’t working. They said that problem is from video card (my brand new computer) and their products and installations have no any problems. I thought it was computer problem and trying to refund it. Then I asked them to remove all new components and they still charged me extra $50 for labor fees. After that my computer runs perfectly. I used a night to search this issue, the problem is from system set up. Next day I went here talk to them, they still deny was their problem. I don’t understand, can technical staffs be nice a little bit and don’t think you are a god and we are asking your mercy. Horrible experiences and I won’t bring my computer to here anymore.
Well experienced staff.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff; store is clean and easy to navigate. Prices are reasonable.
If you know what you’re going to buy, then go for it, but if u want some recommendations or advices and servers just please, go burnaby one or even port Coquitlam one.
Services are acceptable but the attitude of workers without uniforms is just terrible. They easily lose patience when people come in with question/s. Be prepared and save up your questions.
Great customer service. Always willing to price beat competitors. Easy to return items without further questions asked. Simon helped me multiple times and Ive gotta say he has excellent service! Definitely choose this store for its reliability and technical support.
Very bad customer service bought a product that they reccomended didnt work I asked for a refund or an exchange they said they dont take back products and told me to go to the manufacturers
Also good prices and knowledgeable staff.
Our office has been buying computers and various tech peripherals from Cecil and Gloria for years. We cannot be happier with their service and the quality of the products they recommend. Tech is one of those things that you get exactly what you pay for. And we expect nothing less than the best products to help us through our day. Cecil has helped us from day 1 to today. And we cannot be happier with the service hes provided us!
Showed up 10 minutes before closing hours to pickup a reserved part. But the store clerks shooed me through the gate despite helping another customer and were unwilling to simply fulfill the order. Brick and Motar stores need to have good customer service to stay open. Wont be coming back.
Staff is lovely. Went in and asked if I could price check before I purchased. Not only did they allow me to use their computers, there also helped price check with me during checkout. I missed a few sales on other sites, and instead of saving $75, they saved me $115. Great service. Now that the local ME is gone, CC is my go-to computer place.
Very atrocious customer service! They also NEVER pick up the phone.
Every time Ive been here Ive found the staff to be dismissive or rude. Theyre really just there to facilitate a transaction.
Great. Friendly staff and helpful. Thank you
They are always great.
No customer service at all. Once u paid, dont expect they give u any refund or exchange.
Good location and people but they never pick up the phone.
They never pick the call, and dont even respond or acknowledge the emails. Not sure why they have listed their email and phone number on their website and social media when they are arent in use.
Were really nice to deal with, had some issues with a graphics card, easily returned it and swapped it for a totally different card. Good prices and great staff, they are pretty smart, good with helping and I never once felt like I was getting pushed into spending money I didnt need to. Whether you spend $5 or $5000 dollars they dont make you feel like you wasted their time helping with their advice. They just dont sell computers and hardware, they obviously have a passion for them at all price points, so no matter your budget, theyll get you all set up.
I gave four stars instead of five because of the wait to be served. However, other than that, this store was incredible for my first time going. Moore and another tall sales guy were super helpful and answered any questions I had and made sure I had everything before I left the store. and I got my first gaming laptop.I would highly recommend this store. The service is great!
Good shop. Friendly staff. Much better than Best Buy especially if you are nerd. Buddy bought a keyboard there. He had actual choices and someone to ask about the product. He was very happy with what he got. I will swing by there for my next computer purchase.
Excellent customer service and follow through by local store employees.HOWEVER, Canada Computers telephone customer service is extremely poor. 30 mins + hold time with an option to select and leave a message where you encounter a busy signal forcing you to hang up and call back, kicking you out of the queue.Concerning should you need to deal with the company outside of its local stores.
Cecil comes highly recommended and his work is second to none. He has helped me build multiple systems over the years and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to build high-end systems.
Bad customer service. Really hard to get reply and if you write a support ticket you have to wait 2 month to reply and then they close the ticket without answer your question! Will shop at memory express next time!!!
Probably best staff Ive worked with. Easy to communicate to and very reliable.
I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with Cecil for my business. Everything from basic USB hubs to highend workstations that cost triple what most people consider expensive for a computer. And I have been a very satisfied customer. Cecils expertise is second to none and I appreciate his help over the years. I cant believe someone would complain about the level of service hes provided. They must be either completely out of their minds or just dont know the value of good technology.
Friendly and knowledge staff. Good selection. As someone who works in the branding space, I think its like for a new visual identity to match the solid business they run.
Overall it was ok experience. There were 2 great guys who actually put an effort and helped us out and parts for computer came fast. However in general costumer serves was terrible. People ignoring costumers until you chaise them or being really rude. Specifically young asian girl who was very disrespectful and need to learn some manners. On her day off, she was standing at the pick up window and played her phone. When my mother and I came over to pick up computer she just ignored us and didn’t moved out of a waiting line. Even if it’s your day off, it’s not an excuse to behave like that.
I brought my computer to two shops ( including Geek Squad) and both said they do not know how to fix my computer since it is a custom made. I was happy that the Canada Computers technician was able to help me identify the problem and fixed it so I dont have to drop a few grands on a new system. If I do need an upgrade in the future I know where I should go now. Thank you!
Boxing day was aboit a 20 min wait to get in with social spacing
I have always loved dealing with Cecil, and have been shopping here with his help ever since this location was at Lansdowne. His advice is invaluable and he has always helped me find exactly what I need.
Knowledgable and helpful staff.
Don’t open if you are renovating. You are just wasting people’s time. The store is a mess and the sales guy took way too long to look for something.
