These are the best donuts Ive had. Theyre obviously a bit on the pricier side but SO WORTH IT cos theyre really big. The pandan coconut and the limited edition hot dog and banana fritter donuts WERE AMAZING! Im glad this place is far away from me cos otherwise Id be here every weekend. Well worth it!
Amazing Vegan donuts and Gluten Free and normal all absolutely delicious 😋
The donuts lack flavour and depth. It was simply sweet, packed with sugar which overpowered any other flavour it could have had. Could not taste the ube nor Oreo. The biscoff had a thick layer of icing and the donut was very doughy. It lacked both good execution and goof flavour. Overpriced and overhyped. Would not recommend. There is also a 12% surcharge on Sundays, bringing the price of one donut to the hefty price of $7.50.
Long queue (we were there just before midday) but it wasnt too bad, as a staff member came down the queue to each person with the check in QR code on a board so we could check in while waiting and then order as soon as we reached the window. This prevented unnecessary delays. Gorgeous donuts, with low gluten and vegan options. We had the dulce de leche & a version based on creme brulee - they were delicious and generously sized. My husband had a low gluten donut cake and he raved about it. Highly recommend, but maybe order ahead if you can or go early to beat the queue.
There was a long wait in the queue on a cold day, but it was worth it. The donuts are huge and pretty tasty. I chose the matcha donut, the icing was the right amount of sweet but the matcha flavour wasnt very strong... Will have to try other flavours, they seem to make them fresh and put out different flavours all the time.
Nice idea but poor execution. Got a box of mixed flavours and a few plain. The plain donuts were uncooked and tasted raw, you could tear off a chunk and roll it back into dough! Matcha was authentic flavoured, and Nutella was as expected, both a little too much filling to donut ratio for my taste. Hope they can improve but hard to justify $6 a donut compared to a freshly cooked cinnamon donut for a 1/4 of the price from your local.
Smashes Grumpy Donuts, so much better
Firstly, excuse me for my photo below because I carried it around roughly 5 hrs 🥲 and one piece missing cus I was so hungry.- Staffs are efficient. One served me is so patient, waiting for me to pick flavors.- I like how they offer a variety of flavors for vegan donuts which is similar with flavors of other (normal) donuts. Its not heavily creamy and the dough is just as same as others.- Vegan donuts usually are packed separately but if you dont mind to put in one box, they still separate for you.- Normal donuts taste great in general. I have tried some filled donuts but personally, the custard one is sweeter than other filled ones so far.- One thing about their donuts is they are huge! I feel like I ate 2 donuts in an actual one!- The shop is about 10-15 mins walk from either Redfern station or Central station.- Price is as similar as other fancy donuts but definitely higher than market versions.* From left to right in the photo:(top) vegan matcha crunch, ube oreo, pandan coconut(bottom) biscoff, blueberry bear claw, custard filled.
Amazing doughnuts — American style. Probably the best ones I’ve found in Sydney. Also often have great unique flavours, but also all the typical classics! Highly recommend.
Honestly the best damn jam donut Ive ever had.
There was a huge line here and I had hig expectations. It didnt disappoint!
Amazingly thick and tasty donuts, parking can be difficult and there is usually a line up. Expensive however, expect to pay around 40-50 for a box of 6. I nearly fell over when I saw the souvenir mug was 40 when it was 10 at the Easter Show!
Decadent but light and fluffy donuts that youll love. Try them all until you find your favourite. Then head to their other store, Donut Papito, and try the Ube cheesecake. Youre welcome!
The ube menu was amazing, not too sweet just right. Highly recommended
These doughnuts are legit. Theyre so good. You wont regret getting one or 10 🤤
Donut Papi - keep doing what you are doing! #alwaysdelicious
Amazing donuts. Worth the wait in the queue. However, Donut Papi, never make the truffle brulee Donut ever again. It tastes like dirt.
Awesome donuts! Great texture and flavor
Whoever is running their instagram page needs a lesson in customer service. I dont usually do reviews, but it doesnt cost anything to be nice. You have to understand you cant get away with being rude anymore with social media so prevalent. They need to take responsbility for their actions. its left a bad experience and will not be buying donuts from this place. Simply asked a question and was met with abrupt rudeness.
Tried their (vegan) biscoff glaze donut. It was way too soft and too expensive for the price tag. I did asked for the donut to be heated up, the dough felt too limpy compared to other donut places (which i do ask to be warmed as well) in the end. My advice would be to not heat up the donut. The pricetag itself will, sadly, stop me from returning ):
Simply the best vegan donuts in Sydney. Never disappointed when I visit. Pricing is fair considering these are hand made donuts not mass produced. Love supporting a small local business. Staff are always very friendly.
There is usually a line up to buy these donuts, and there is a reason for that. They are absolutely delicious and I will definitely be back again.
Underwhelming to say the least. I was quite keen to try donut papi based on reviews and their instagram but it ended up being quite disappointing. The snickers and beuno donuts were just not enjoyable and the OG donut and biscoff donuts were ok. The caramel one was average too.At $35 for 5 donuts it’s way overpriced too. Simply not worth it. Luckily we went on a Friday because on Sunday’s they also have a 12% surcharge!
Small easy to miss donut shop with really good donuts and just as importantly, really good coffee. I walked out with an original glaze donut (I always try the basics first) and it was light, fluffy and most surprisingly, not as sweet as I was expecting and complimenting this was a very smooth and balanced latte, strong but not bitter. Found it perfect as I shy away from donuts in the first place as they taste overly sugary. The taro and Pandan custard donuts look like their speciality and I will definitely come back for them!
I had been looking forward to getting these donuts for while, but my experience with this business was appalling. One of the worst customer experiences that I have come across within the hospitality industry.Put through the order 1 week prior to pick up, received an email confirmation with a link to confirm pick up time and date. The night before I clicked and it redirected me to their website that was under construction. I could not remember the pick up time so I emailed them the morning of and did not hear back, no other contact details were provided on the order confirmation so I went to the store at 11:15 am, the owner came out and said pick up was at 12pm, rolled his eyes and pointed at a sign on the window. I was left confused as he walked away and refused to speak with me, I then sent an Instagram message explaining the situation and was told that the order was now ready, the staff did not acknowledge their fault in not communicating the bare minimum and did not apologize for their horrible customer service.I came back later that day and picked up my order, to be greeted by a young man that was also rude, not surprised. Look the donuts were awesome, texture and flavor lived up to what Ive herd about them but this experience was so bad that I will not continue to support a business that does not care about customer service. Reading the other reviews, its evident that this type of service if you can even call it that is common.
Medium quality donuts with extremely poor customer service skills. A simple query turned into a scuffle of words. Would never buy again.
Great little donut shop with lots of tasty options and really good Allpress coffee made with a pretty pink coffee machine. Eat in or takeaway, good amount of seating inside and out. Also some “exotic” dessert options. Very pleasant staff and fun decor make it worth a visit, enjoyed a pink milkshake donut that did the trick, will be back to try the other varieties soon!
These doughnuts are phenomenal. Up there with the best in Sydney. However, they are a bit pricey so be prepared for that when you walk in the door. I had the strawberry milkshake which tasted like what a Simpsons doughnut should taste like, the biscoff which was also unreal, the carwmilk which was insanely rich but very good, and the original glazed. Definitely will be coming back to try more.
DONUT WALK, RUN!!!! These donuts will BLOW YOUR MIND. Truth be told, Ive never been passionate about donuts. That all changed once I tasted the Papi. HOT DAMN. My boo and I LEGIT go there every Saturday because we cant go one week without. Thank you, Donut Papi, for existing and bringing such buttery soft, delicious and fluffy doughy delights into these pandemic-ridden world.
Love usually getting the pandan and dulce de leche donuts here, however the ube flavoured donuts could be better, as it didnt taste ube enough! Hopefully that can be helpful feedback for improvement! 👍
Great donuts! Pretty good taste and was just the type of sweetness I like! I don’t think it’s worth driving 30 minutes just to buy donuts, but it is huge! I enjoyed my time eating the donuts
Good selection of donuts, ube one the best! Finding the place and getting parking was a bit of a pain and hassle... We were just lucky to get a spot right outside!Best to try get vouchers from Groupon and the likeUpdate:Tasted a few new donut places that have started popping up and Donut Papi is still one of the better ones. They are a twice as expensive as the others but I think twice as nice too!New favourite we tried today was the glazed biscoff!
Best doughnuts I ever had 😋
Innovative flavours, fresh as can be donuts and beverages. Be there first thing or lose out as their best sellers have fans forming queues and travelling in for their orders.
Best donuts in Sydney - tried them all.
Cant recall the last time i had to pay a sunday surcharge.Bought 4 doughnuts and they all failed to impress. They were placed in paper bags, no carton holder or boxes (told only available if purchasing over 6 doughnuts). This place is overhyped and overpriced.
Want them all!And a great font
Mixed feelings about this place, not sure if Id eat here again to be honest. Was really keen for the ube, pandan and lecheflan flavoured donuts and frappuccinos.Firstly, the ube donut and the frappuccino was really disappointing. I dont think theres much ube flavour in them at all - which was such a let down because the purple colour was so rich I was really expecting to be in flavour country! The donut is sweet, dont get me wrong but definitely not ube flavoured. The frappuccino I received as well was basically a glass of cold purple milk. Just plain milk flavour...Pandan donut was an improvement, but still thought the flavour was a bit too subtle.Lecheflan donut was also ok, its a normal sweet donut but nothing that makes it taste especially like a lecheflan flavoured donut. I think the only thing that makes it lecheflan is the small square of lecheflan on the top of the donut lol..On the plus side, I think the pricing is fair and the size of the donuts is generous! I liked the thickness of the dough but I did have some friends complain its too heavy (each to their own). The only donut that really caught my attention was the tiramisu - that had such a lovely infusion of coffee flavour!!But the Filipino flavours (ESPECIALLY the ube) really need more work :(
Cant get enough of these donuts. theyre so deliciously fluffy
The best quality donut in Sydney so far,Its simply the best.Must visit this place
Thank you donut papi for making our sydney stay more sweet. Tried 10 of their different flavours all of them were super tasty ❤
Bit doughey, but not too bad. To be fair we came later in the day, so we will come back earlier next time and see if we can add that extra star! I like that theres a dedication to offering a larger vegan range 💕 thanks guys!
Really nice doughnuts, would have liked a few more filled rather than 90% of them being ring. Soft & really easy to eat, however a few were a bit bland & lacked sweetness (Matcha, Biscoff). And quite expensive.
Amazing variety of delicious donuts, including monthly specials. Highly recommend the iced mocha. Very friendly staff.
Small place but very cool. Doughnuts are very decently sized and delicious. I had Coconut Pandan 8/10, vegan fairy bread 2/10, pineapple glaze 7/10, ube Oreo 10/10, vegan apple fritter 10/10, strawberry lemonade 10/10. Friendly staff and discounts the more you buy. Parking is tricky but not hard to find.
Great little hole in the wall donut and sweets joint! Fav is a simple strawberry milkshake donut and biscoff latte, or go all out and get one of each on offer!
Tried Donut Papi for the first time today and it definitely lived up to its expectation. Arrived shortly after midday on a Sunday and there was already a queue. Didn’t have to wait too long and choosing flavours was so straightforward. Tried the halo halo ube cheesecake plus the cinnamon scroll, cinnamon with sugar, ube brûlée and strawberry milkshake flavour donuts. They were amazing. By far the best donuts I’ve ever eaten. Can’t hardly wait to go back for more.
Awesome, delicious and huge Donuts.
The donuts here are the best in Sydney. The best taste, texture, and quality. Theres donuts out there that will look better in a picture, or have more amazing toppings, but the donut under those toppings is always disappointing. Donut Papi makes THE BEST donuts in Sydney. Fantastic, different options for fillings. Loved the Pandan. Perfect for Hanukkah.
Legit best donut Ive ever had! Ill be back for more
Best doughies in Sydney! I love the fluffy texture of the dough and their use of super interesting flavours. Favourites are always their specials which use fresh cream (BRING BACK THE GOOD PIE!!!!) and I would fist fight someone for the last vegan cherry bearclaw. Not all that Ive tried are to my palate (sorry not sorry, ensaymada), but always happy to have given them a go.
Great doughnuts with unique monthly specials. I have been waiting to try these for months after following these guys on Instagram. Finally had the chance and it was worth it. Soft and fluffy doughnuts with delicious toppings. Give it a go!
Ive had all the best donuts in Sydney.Shortstop has been ny fav for years.Donut Papi is way better.Hail to the new king of donuts!!!
Oh my goodness amazing
Used to like the Ube-filled and Pandan-filled doughnuts. They don’t serve it anymore cus they update their menu on a monthly basis, but those two flavours were staples. They serve the less appetising version of the two said flavours. I ordered many times from them when they started, however, the last dozen I have ordered was just underwhelming. I am not alone on this observation though cus I have a friend who I’ve influenced to buy from them before and they also noticed that the flavours are not just as good as before. They were so good when they started, hopefully there’s a consistency.
Pleasant surprise I found while walking in the neighbourhood. Long queue but worth the wait... 😃
Don’t need to say much. Just yum! Not the cheapest doughnuts but you get what you pay for. So delicious and so many interesting flavours. I love the pandan the best. Definitely recommend when you are in need of a cheat day. Not a massive store but easy to find and offers drinks and savoury food as well.
