Raxaual a busy border to Nepal. This is one of the main borders to enter into Nepal. Raxaul is an important trade route for Nepal. Though this place looks like India in 1940s, Raxaul has many markets for shopping. Many Nepalese come to this place for shopping.This railway station is well connected with many parts of India but it still need to improve.Railway station is clean but there is lot of scope for improvement.Shops inside the railway station sells all products on MRP except for cool drinks.

Raxaul Railway Junction - Gateway to enter Nepal. Raxaul station is known for transit point for most of the Indian Tourist and trekkers.There are few trains like Mithila Ex.(Howrah), Satyagraha Ex. (Anant Vihar) runs everyday.Local passengers irritates lot by using these long route trains without tickets.RPF & TT are not so strict.

Management is very poor, even the senior staff members doesnt know how to behave with other person. They regularly maintain the high/angry tone while talk to another person. Most important they dont take action against the passengers who uses the RAILWAY TRACK insted of bridge to cross the platform. This is my 2nd visit to Raxaul in one month and I feel bad to write such review but it is true. Very very very poor management... sorry, I forgot to mention most important details..Not a single staff follow the guidelines of COVID19 . YOU hardly see a staff member wearing mask and using sanitizer.

This station is at the Indo-Nepal border. There is always high flow of passengers due to this reason. They have built new infrastructure and added a platform too. Also they have added one more staircase to cross from Platform 2 to platform 1. The hygiene and environment is bad here. Garbage all around the place outside platform. The help desk(enquiry) person and the person who cuts ticket is somehow rude and speaks roughly with passengers asking information.

Good and cool.Here u find train of several stations.The platform is quite neat and clen.

Clean and quaint. Great Chai. Even has retiring rooms (dorm type) and 1 with AC. Short walk from here to Nepal border.

Very Old station ..Railway doesnt maintain it but still it is good ..There is a Auto stand just outside platform no 1 and there is rickshaw stand also ..Share Auto charge Rs.20 upto Nepal Border Shankaracharya Gate.Rickshaw charge Rs.50 upto Border and then u can take Horse Tanga or Tuktuk share or reserve upto Birgunj Clock Tower.There is a car and bike parking stand just outside station and IRCTC FOOD PLAZA inside Station premises where u can have quality food ..Veg and Chicken thali both arr available.

Clean and silence station 💗

This place is of great importance to both Nepal and India. It is the main trading junction. But this place is very unmanaged and dirty everywhere. There is always a long queue of loaded trucks awaiting border approval so good luck getting to anywhere on time. You are better off walking from the train station to Nepal border or other way around.

Despite Raxaul being a border to Nepal gateway, Raxaul station is not up to standard. Needs improvement.

When I was there. The station area was being repaired. But it was neat and clean.

A very busy station near Indo-Nepal border. Many important long distance trains originate and terminate here.

Most important railway station for tourists going to Nepal. Border is just 10 minutes away. Good parking area for vehicles. Connected to Adapur, Ramgarhwa, Bhelwa and Inland container depot in Nepal.

As this place is my home town I know the place better, today due to corona epidemic it has very less gatherings of passengers usually this junction is busy with lots of passengers as it connects many metropolitan cities like Delhi, mumbai ,kolkata,hyderabad and many more cities. Its infrastructure has increased a lot than before, with a good sanitization and increased security it is now a station worth travelling..

Small station with not so ample food stalls. It isnt also that fairly managed. Being the station situated near the border of India and Nepal this station sees much more passenger flow than any nearby railway stations.The adjacent border letting you in and out of Nepal allows to cross from 6 am to 8pm. However for personal use and with two wheelers one can cross 24*7 through narrow pathways designated for the same.

Raxaul railway junction is located near the indo nepal boarder. People come here from Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai and Chennai, and more other place to visit nepal , through this raxaul boarder.You can get all rout train from here. You can also access free wifi here. And bridge also there to go to other platforms. Here they provide room also , if suppose you have to stay night here.

Raxaul is a better place which connect Nepal. Value of raxaul is more for a person whom they are coming out side of country or state. But the accessibility at the station is not such gud. But as it is a developing area. The besic need will be met.

Raxaul is a sub-divisional town in the East Champaran district of Bihar. It is situated on the India-Nepal border opposite Birgunj. Raxaul is a major railway terminus. The Indian border town of Raxaul has become one of the busiest towns for heavy transportation due to high trade volume. Almost 56% of the total products of Birgunj are exported to the Indian state of Bihar through this route. Raxaul is the only city that is connected with Nepal. Birgunj railway station is connected by the Nepal Government Railway (NGR) to Raxaul station in Bihar across the border with India. The 47 km (29 mi) railway extends north to Amlekhganj in Nepal. It was built in 1927 by the British but discontinued beyond Birgunj in December 1965. The 6 km (3.7 mi) railway track from Raxaul to Birgunj was converted to broad gauge two years after the Indian railways converted the track to Raxaul inside India to broad gauge. Now, broad gauge railway line connects Raxaul to the Sirsiya (Birgunj) Inland Container Depot (ICD) which became fully operational in 2005. Talks have been held to reopen the railway route from Birgunj to Amlekhganj in Nepal by converting it to broad gauge because of its socio-economic importance.

I want to travell Kathmandu .So ,there is any problem in time of crossing the The border of India?Is money needed in entrance of Nepal border recently?if I go there can I face any problem? How can I travelled after raxaul to Kathmandu?

Raxaul also known as mini Mumbai. (not to laugh) 😁 This is where I belong and where my home sweet home is. I do not object to write bad facts of this place.Raxual is very populated and polluted hybrid city of state Bihar. Poorly managed infrastructure made this place always crowd and make traffic jam. There is a railway crossing in between the market. The road closes around 14 hours a day sticking many people lives due to that railway crossing. There are still no plan for flyover or any other solution to overcome such problem. Roads are drastically very bad. They are dusty as well. Not sure why government dont see these problems.Raxaul is a hybrid city means you can get maximum brand you found them in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai etc. All branded clothes, quality stuff etc. The food quality in hotels and restaurants arent that good. But you can find vegetables very fresh at Raxual market in main road areas.Also not to forget about health and sanitation. The Duncan hospital is one of the very old and famous government hospital. Sometimes doctors are not available for checkup in OPD section. Gynaecology section need to improve for pregnant woman. Since the condition is very bad government should take some step to make the service easy and convenient.I have seen a new border custom that is already build but still not in use. The construction from India government side is almost done. However there is some dispute going between India custom and Nepal which is making the custom inactive since a long.Hope to get better Raxual in next five years.

After the completion of the gauge conversion from Darbhanga to Raxaul via Sitamarhi, another broad gauge route to Raxaul became available from March 2014. The metre gauge track from Raxaul to Narkatiaganj remains to be converted.

Brought up at this place , i love this place . Its far behind on infrastructure, even the roads r not in good shape, surprisingly BJP has been winning this seat in all lok sabha n Vidhan sabha elections till date once or twice JD has won n the MP doesnt have time to look into the problems of common people, check the main road connecting Nepal n India so called Tribhuvan Rajpath its pathetic . People have been asking for flyovers at railway crossing for decades but it lands on deaf ears , many have died , people getting run over by trains is almost a daily news .

Being an expanding city, Raxaul the gateway of nepal has a good railway station. It has clean concrete area, drinking water available, parking lane, waiting rooms, food plaza, local food vendors, active railway police and regular rails joining mazor cities of bihar and india directly. one negative thing is its been old and narrow railway crossing pool..not in good condition, has gone so old that there is chances for accidents. it should upgrade as soon as possible. and should have more attension on its outside park upgradation too and cleaninty of premise.
