Not very big museum,it is medium in size I visit here for 45 minute and I feel that Jharkhand Government maintain it well. Here you see only state ruins and some ruins from other site. Very normal fee to visit there and extra charge for photography and the gate will open at 10:30 am. This museum has their own Library, people visit Library also, but only regular students have permission to read the book #LetsGuide

A very well maintained and beautiful museum in Ranchi. It has a rich collection of artefacts, sculptures, coins collected from different parts from Jharkhand and India. The life of different tribal groups of Jharkhand has been beautifully displayed along with their history, culture and traditions. Freedom movement and Tribal revolts have also been displayed. A very informative museum. One hour visit is sufficient.

The Museum is divided into four distinct galleries—Ethnological, Sculptural, Archeological, and Painting. The two-storeyed building might appear confusing at first, but there is a logical structure to it. The first things one notices when entering the museum complex are the colourful and monochromatic murals on the walls, which recreate certain stories of the past; while the semicircular series of columns on which the sculptures are mounted indicate the stages in the evolution of humankind.

Well, it was 3:10 pm of 25/08/2019 and was raining heavily in Ranchi, then we entered into Museum. To my disappointment, I was only the 4th entry in the visitor list but the museum didnt let it be.Basically, it has three galleries, two on ground and one at first floor. The galleries of ground floor displays culture and ethnography of different tribes of Jharkhand through statues, pictures, paintings, tools, weapons etc. One really get to know the simple but diverse life of sons and daughters of soil. The third gallery consist paintings of renowned local painters and trust me they were beautiful. Other room displayed various coins, artifacts and remains found and excavated at various places of this state. Finally after an hour, we came out carrying with us a nice experience. So, you must visit it at once!!

Awesome place, if you have interest in history and culture of Jharkhand, you must visit this place. Very well maintained.Showcase of different Tribal people statues , drawing and graphics from all over the state, coins of very early age, pictures and models of different places of all over the state are kept here. You get to see different sculptures from B.C. time. There is also library here which has large number of books on History of Jharkhand and India. Only fault is their way of display of such items, they can be more creative at setting the displays at proper place for rich visitor experience, not just as the case of showcase only just like any other museum. Overall environment around the museum is nice. Affordable ticket price, you have to pay more if you want to take photographs inside the Museum.

There is toilet. Only two floors are there. This museum shows about jharkhand culture and the things they have used before. Many sculpture are there which are made up of stone and metal. Less crowed area people should visit their and make this place awesome. Because of less crowed there is no shop.

In summer or winter excursions I go to this spot since it is my moms local place.I like this spot uniquely Its weather.state exhibition hall of Ranchi is very popular.I like its infrastructure. The whole historical center is brimming with all civilities and distinctive areas including ethnological display, design exhibition, earthenwares, works of art, library and auditorium,I have seen all exhibition which show diverse parts of social legacy exceptionally those identified with Jharkhand. There is additionally one segment which show the highlights identified with the method for inborn life. The mold segment show distinctive workmanship and its ceramics mirror its archeological features.A part from these its library is likewise a decent gathering of all authentic, archeological books which is advantageous for archeological understudies.
