From parking its approximately 300 steps up to the temple. From there you can further go up the stone mountain through narrow walking trails. The mountain is extremely steep and good walking shoes is recommended. From top views are breathtaking and picturesque. Very windy once you are on top, so a light jacket will be good. Stay safe.

Some 40 km from Kengeri, this hill is a great place for a day trip. The view from the top of the hill is outstanding. There is a Temple of Lord Rama on the Hill. Going there one needs to cover hundreds of staircase to reach the Temple. From the temple there is one more hill you can reach by taking a iron swing. But once you are up on the top the view in around is is so astonishing that you will feel like coming here time and again. When we came over here we didnt know that the place is so fabulous. After coming here only we came to know that it is so exciting and adventurous. The Vulture Sanctuary is also an added advantage.

Ramadevara Betta is pilgrim center for Sri Lord Rama devotees and this place is the only Vulture Sanctuary in India very close to Ramanagara the land of 7 hills or Silk City, 50 kilometers away from Bangalore.Lord Rama and Sita stayed here during their exile and established Shiva Linga for their daily prayers and also Lord Rama shoot an arrow to create pond emerged with water called Ramatheertha it has never dried up till now and no one knows depth of it. This location is best for a shorter trip with your friends or family members. There is an entry fee for all age group people and parking is available.

The entry to this place is closed on weekends and holidays to reduce the rush of people as the virus is still around. But one can still go near that place and hike to the nearby hills as the whole place has a bunch of hills which do not need an entry ticket like this sanctuary. It is good for you to spend some 2 hours.

The place was more than I expected to be.Suitable for weekend visit.. Driving distance from Bangalore town.. Absolutely no vultures are found during our visit.. A temple available in midway where we got free prasada (meals).. moderate level trekking..Lunch was provided in the temple when I had visited and the lunch was very good. And to reach the peak you have to climb the rocky steps which looks thrilling and the view from the top once you reach is amazing. It is the highest possible point of the place.Everyone are allowed to visit, but climbing the rocky steps with the kids would be little dangerous.Better to spend some time in peace at the peak. It will be a beautiful view to watch from the top.Entry time is at 9am till 5pm.Way till the temple has steps which takes almost 20 to 30mins .Parking spaces is good. Also there is a small fees which is taken at the entrance- for 1 person Rs 25 and for 1 bike Rs 10 and for 1 car it might be Rs 20.If you are planning to visit, do visit once. You will never regret visiting this place.

Excellent place for a good trek. It all starts with just a few flights of stairs, but eventually gets slightly harder.Reaching the temple is eas as it is just climbing the flight if stairs. The temple is extremely clean and hygienic. Shoes or socks not allowed inside the temple, but plenty of space outside to sit, wander or explore. There are two paths from the temple. One is the challenging rocky path which is also slightly dangerous and challenging, but worth trying. This path leads to a beautiful viewpoint which one just cannot get enough of.The second path is also a rocky one, but is easier as it is a downward slope. Even little kids can enjoy their mini treks here. This path leads to a temple. This temple is said to be almost 700 years old. Even here there is a small viewpoint, but not as good as the former.Car parking available, officers available at the base in case of any emergency. Overall, a good place to visit for the spiritual weekend trek.

Amazing getaway for bangalore and mysore folks. This is largely undisturbed as it a vulture sanctuary as well. (India’s only one of this kind.) We didnt check this out. This place is famous after the sholay movie shoot. Aint quite explore this place where the shoot was held as well..Rather we went straight for the trekking..There is an entry fee and a parking charge which need to be paid at the sanctuary entrance.Roads towards the sanctuary from the national highway is bitumen laid but quite narrow which goes through the village. So drive extremely careful. It did cross the new mysore Bangalore Highway project as well. Now at the parking spot, you wont find much development. Most of the visitors are for the Ram temple and Shiva temple a top. Its clearly not been a Go to place like nandi hills and there is a reason !!!U cannot drive 4 wheelers till the top.U need to climb almost 500 steps.. no park or chill-out places in between like what nandihills has on offer. One needs serious Ba**s for the last leg of the climb, only once this climb is completed, one can enjoy the sight.. and its marvelous.. and worth the climb.Out of hundred folks 80 might reach temple nd leave back.20 might reach till the last giant Vertical BoulderAnd out of 20, a 10 wont even think of attempting the climb a top..Out of last 10 an 8 might climb nd reach on top and make a successful Ramadevarabetta trek.Nevertheless, there are a large group of trekking folks with proper footwear nd accessories reaching the spot for the trek.Attaching few photos.

Serene, calm and peaceful. Please be careful about the folks at the entrance who kept on bugging us. Entry fee is 25/person and 10/two wheeler. If you are coming from Bangalore take a right turn at the big Hanuman statue at ramanagara junction and come straight till you reach the entrance gate.Few metres up the hill you will reach this place. You need to climb 400+odd steps to reach the main temple. There are multiple temples and locations you should visit at this place.A must visit place for all those who are looking for a peaceful weekend.

Very close to Ramanagara town and much closer to nature, this wonderful temple hill under the jurisdiction of the forest department. The entry fee is Rs.25 per adult, Rs.10 per child and Rs.25 for four wheeler. The temple is open between 9 am and 5.30 pm. One has to alight some 390 steps to reach the temple and trek for another 10 minutes to reach the summit. It requires some 20 to 25 minutes of climb to reach the temples from the parking lot. The summit provides breath taking views of the forest which lies behind the hills. Though there is a lot of tree cover and the walkway is always covered with tree shade, recommend this place to be visited on a cool day. There are two main temples and various other smaller shrines. The two main temples are dedicated to Sri Ram and Shiva and most of the smaller shrines house various postures of Anjaneya/Hanuman and Ganesha. A great place to visit for a half day trip from Bangalore.

Great trekking place. I will reckon it easy only.Few tricksMany bloggers / reviewers suggest that the last phase is 90 degrees and very risky, which I personally dont feel is that steep and risky. So, dont go with a prejudiced mindset.Whether you are small or elderly, thin or fat, light weight or heavy weight, it really doesnt matter. I saw here a 7 year child climbing up confidently and a very obese person as well do the same. Those who are regular trekkers find no difficulties here. Those who are beginners, just concentrate on one step at a time and dont look up or down while on the staircase (iron made) - keep your focus on each step and within 5 minutes you cross the staircase and reach at the top. Do not stop intermittently. We didnt find any monkeys here, so I would recommend you to carry food and drinks and enjoy at the top.Do not litter or smoke or drink alcohol are the instructions provided by Karnataka tourism police personnel atop.If you want to have more adventure in this trek, I would recommend u to follow the right side board near temple, where there is a pond, which mentions 700 over it. Please excuse me about the description on this board (as it is written in local language, I am not sure what the board reads). You can go to the base of the mountain near to the entry gate by descending down from here. You will also find mango farm (aamrai) from where you have to go towards left. Continue till you find the forest officer check post and then again go from left of this post to reach the tar road near entry gate. Please note: Entry starts only at 9 am, so no need to start at 4 am or 5 am from Bangalore. From central Bangalore, it took us 2 hours to reach at the Ramadevaraya betta gate. So, u can enjoy extended sleep when you plan for this trek.

Great place for a day out. Ideal (less than 2 hours) drive from Bengaluru city.Note: Exit Mysuru road only when you see the big Hanuman/Anjaneya statue on the right, then the drive is hassle free.Monsoon - is possibly the best time to visit because of the greenery all around. Luckily it was just the right weather when we visited, not very cloudy and a bit windy. There is ample parking and the parking place has nice sit outs if one plans to picnic (without littering though). The climb to the temple is around 400 steps and can be easily done in 15-20 minutes. The temple serves prasadam (rice, sambar, payasam) every Saturday and Sunday for free - one can even sponsor one of these by paying 5k. From the temple, around 100 steps uphill will lead to an amazing view. Up till this viewpoint, even smaller kids can make it. Beyond that, the steps are a bit slippery, but not difficult. Theres a small diversion thereafter, one can choose to go the right hand side to climb up a smaller hill, from where one can get the view of the temple and again a great panaroma. Climb is not difficult. However if one chooses to go left, thats the way to the hill-top with steeper climb. Steps are carved out along with railings, but the steps are quite long, making it difficult for kids and shorter folks to climb (down more than up). Again, still not difficult for many. From the hill-top, the view is epic. Also loved the cacti all around and a small water body on hill-top.Note: the moment you enter the parking, a lot of kids will start begging, one feels sad and tries to help but these kids take advantage and even go to the extent of misbehaving.

The temple is beautiful, we have a lord Hanuman, Patabhi Rama and Rameshwara temples at the mid-way of the hill. On weekends and holidays the temple is open 9 am to 5 pm. You also have anna dasoha or lunch PrasadaFurther you can climb up to Sugreeva temple.
