Came across this place on Google and I’m so glad I did! I’m not a vegetarian but I love vegetarian food and their Chickpea Salad sandwich was AMAZING!!! So light yet filling at the same time and super tasty!

Food was delicious. Its very close to US 97 and it is located in a quiet neighborhood. Ordered yakisoba and tempeh sandwich. We loved it, hence we ordered some more for To go as well.

Came into town & this came up when I filtered for vegetarian & vegan places. Sounded interesting so I stopped in. I ordered the Tofu Yakisoba. I don’t have the palate to be able to speak to the authenticity of it, but I do have the palate to speak to the awesomeness of it! SO good! Really good size portion for that price. I also can’t leave out the kind, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. I will definitely be back!! If you are in Bend, please stop in and support these good folks.(Didn’t think to get pics. Absolutely the best vegan place in Bend at the moment. The tofu yakosoba, tempeh sandwhich, the red lentil cakes and the cauliflower tacos are all tasty taste! So good. Please try it. Especially if you are not vegan because itll give you a whole new perspective on veggie food!

This place is an absurd delight to the palette. My wife and I started with the fritters and thought that our eating experience would have peaked right there. They were delightful. However, to our shock the tacos following the fritters managed to continue captivating our taste buds to the same degree. Finally, we polished off the Tempeh sandwich. And this is where our dining experience met its climax. The flavors and textures mingled a most magnificent fashion. I am finished with my meal feeling full and satisfied and looking forward to when I can return to the Root Down Kitchen.

The tofu sandwich was packed with veggies (some pickled yum!) and was moist and flavorful. What a great addition to Bends plant based food offerings.

The absolute best food ever...the queso was incredible. This food was some of the most innovative and interesting .Salsa was fantastic. I genuine Mexican experience.

WOW! So good! Ive been struggling to go full vegan for months now, but its places like this that make me crave vegan restaurants. Better than any meat dish Ive had in a long time.I ordered the Sesame Dijon Tempeh Sandwich and it was incredible! Not spicy but it had that zesty and savory flavor that is just addictive. Ill definitely be going back.

The owner of Root Down is so kind and a true vegan wizard. We are visiting from Southern California where vegan food is on every corner , and Root Down has got to be one of the most unique and delicious spots we’ve visited. Couldn’t leave the parking lot without raving about this place... the owner (alone) was kicking butt pulling a LIST of orders together when, like an angel descending from heaven, brought ours up to the counter.They sanitized the door inside and out right after we walked out which we appreciated (darn you Covid *fist shake*). We ordered the kid’s yakisoba with tofu, lentil fritters and bulgogi sammie. Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Thanks for everything, masked- mystery MVP! Your food rocks just as much as you!

Must eat!!!!!! We ordered the tacos, the fritters, tofu sando., noodles & tempeh sando. ALL of it was to die for even after an hour in the car. Thanks for the great vegan meal! We will be back for sure.

I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian, but I had heard good things about the food and wanted to try it. I ordered the sesame tempeh sandwich and the red lentil fritters.I was pleasantly surprised. The flavors were deep and rich. The lentil fritters had a cilantro pesto sauce that was incredibly flavorful and fresh tasting - I now want this on everything I eat. The only thing that stood out to me as different from a regular omnivore meal was that the textures were different. Not worse, not better, just different.Some vegan food might be boring or bland, but this sure aint it. Nice job - Ill be back!

I tried it for the first time today and had the Tofu Sandwich. It was amazing! Tons of flavor and much more than I expected. It was a great take on a Bánh Mi in ways and the perfect lunch proportion.

I love this place!Warm savory yummies and amazing flavors!I got off work a bit early today and the thought of cooking made me even more tired. I was feeling fried as a fritter from a long day on my feet.My tummy clock lead me to Root Down Kitchen and did not let me down! I showed up just a few minutes before closing and was met by a lovely smile from the chef and delicious smells.I went with an order of the fritters (as I said earlier I was feeling as fried as one) and a chickpea curry sando.I barely made it to my car with my take out before I ripped open the box with the fritters and slaw, then tore off a piece like a vegan animal! It was a flavor delight! It was warm and not too spicy, lots of tang with the sauces and a total party in my mouth. Those couple of bites got me home and my son and I shared the rest of our meal. The Curry sando was so good! I had to fight my son to get more than just one bite.If you are vegan or vegan curious I think you will find a lot of joy in your mouth and belly from Root Down Kitchen. I will be back!!
