I studied in civil in this college. Infrastructure of the college is improving day by day. And there is lots of things for improving and that is happening. So I think after some years it will in top 5 nit lists.

NIT Raipur was considered an average NIT earlier but one can surely deny this fact at present. In the past few years, the infrastructure of the college has improved exponentially. The developement of campus in terms of facilities, environment and convenience has improved too. Labs are well equipped now with the availability of current technologies and facilities. The library at NIT Raipur is one of the largest libraries amongst all the NITs (with the largest digital library amongst some better off IITs and NITs).In terms of campus placements, IT industry giants including Amazon, Oracle,Samsung, UHG and others visit the campus offerring a highly decent package with the average package for CSE being above 8LPA. The placements with the core branches are good too. Students from NIT Raipur notch top ranks every year in GATE, GRE, CAT etc.In a nutshell, if you consider NIT Raipur as average then perhaps you need to redefine the definition of an average engineering college as NIT Raipur stands out remarkably amongst the other NITs.

Very nice. The inside is very special and a lot of people come here to study from outside as well. People come from many states to study and there is such a good institute, what to tell and very much knowledge is available here. Teachers and Packet DP is very good and very big...

The first President of India, Rajendra Prasadlaid the foundation stone of the college building on 14 September 1956. Construction was completed in 1962 and the college was inaugurated on 14 March 1963 by the firstPrime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.Until as late as 1956, there were only three technical institutes in the country devoted to mining and metallurgical engineering. In view of this fact and also with the aim of harnessing the ample mineral resources in the region, the institute was set up on 1 May 1956 as Government College of Mining and Metallurgy. The first session of the college commenced on 1 July 1956 with the admission of 15 students each in mining and metallurgical engineering.In 1958-59 with the commencement of additional courses in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, the college came to be known as Government College of Engineering and Technology. Later graduate courses in chemical engineering (1965), architecture (1984), electronics (1985), information technology, computer science and technology (2000), biotechnology and biomedical engineering (2003) were started. It was declared a National Institute of Technology(NIT) by the Government of India on 1 December 2005 and then declared an Institute of National Importance with the passing of the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007, in May 2007.

Due To Current Pandemic Situation All the classes are running online and nobody is allowed in institute without proper permission and reasons.

Amazing campus & infrastructure. Security is kinda strict at entry. A lot of faculties per department; maximum if not all are PhDs. Spacious classrooms, well equipped labs and recreational areas. Accommodation for faculty and students is in campus itself.

Almost good but as name suggests there are no traditional food there in comparison to gadh karwa.

An institution of premiere importance in India

Nit Raipur is a great place to study at or work. I recently attended a Training Program here for 5 days. The Institute has a nice, peaceful environment and friendly people everywhere.

I wont recommend this college to anyone. Following are the detailed reasons as to why. For sugarcoated lies you can see 5-star or 4-star reviews written by students to lure others in this college:1) Hostel : Getting a hostel in this college is a joke. There is a limited hostel capacity and their intake is double of that. They dont care about their students. It can be proved by the point that most of the students prefer to rent flats/rooms instead of opting for their pathetic hostel facility.2) Infrastructure: Infrastructure is a big lie in this college. They will switch on ACs and what not other things that you will just once in blue-moon during inspection from gov or from newspapers.3) Syllabus : Lol, syllabus is a big joke in this college. Actually, they dont want you to know industrial level subjects. Even if you bag good internships and do good courses online, they wont care. But, they will care once NIRF inspection is going on. Else, you will be criticized and told by faculties to focus on syllabus which will get you no where.4) No Facilities that are in par with that other NITs or IITs or even good private colleges provide. Canteen is a big joke. You wont get anything mentioned in their menu. Even if you do, you will regret buying it.5) The faculties care only about ranking. They wont care about your well-being unless it affects their position or colleges ranking. Believe me, it can be understood from the fact that if it mentioned that result will be published on 10th June. Believe me, you wont get it before 17th or 18th June. That how they dont do their job. But will force you to things that are beneficial for them, but mentally torturous to you. In final year, they will force you for research paper even if you dont wish you. Why? College ki ranking bahdani hai aur kya ? They say it openly that why will you give for college like fees isnt enough. They will torture you for it.Stay away from this college.Better take a job and try for some good reputed nits or iiits.

Nice college, Good infrastructure but not sufficient (less seats at Hostel). Green campus, wifi, CCD, Indian Coffee House, Amul Shop, Photocopy and general store also there. All facilities related to sports available.

The worst decision I ever made. Infrastructure is the worst among all the NITs. Management pays no heed towards the welfare of students. Everything is on paper only. Faculties are irresponsible and lack courageous and friendly behaviour with the students they will forcefully extract each and everything from you that they need. Most of the reviews you see here hide the truth that be it infrastructure or the studies, colleges lacks in both. Only thing that gives advantage to it is that the students are hard working. Apart from them, nothing is good in this college. Please conside it before you join this institute as you will regret it for the rest of your life.

An important national institution in Chhattisgarh. NIT Raipur doesnt offer U.G. and P.G. courses for general science subjects but different type of B.Tech, M.Tech courses are available. Computer and networking facilities are very good. Its current NIRF ranking near about 70.

Hotel facilities are not avaliable for M. Tech students

Campus is small and lack many sports facilities.

Infrastructure is pretty good... the students are intelligent and the fests are awesome, along with high prolific professors. The campus is not too heroic but since the number of courses offered are less thus they prove adequate. The hostel is awesome . Although all student dont get accommodation for that.

The NIT Raipur - National Institute of Technology, Raipur was established in 1956 by Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the country. It is one of the best and oldest institutes of engineering in the country. In 1956, the first batch of 15 students was admitted in each of Mining and Metallurgical engineering departments. Later on, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering were added to the institute and it was renamed as Government College of Engineering and Technology. At present, the institute is located in Raipur and is spread over 100 acres of land. The place is very well-connected to major cities such as Mumbai, Nagpur, Delhi and Chennai.The various departments in the institute are Applied Geology, Architecture, Biomedical Engineering, Bio-Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Department Of Chemistry, Department Of Mathematics, Department Of Physics, Department Of Humanities & Social Sciences and Information Technology. Besides, BTech, BArch, MTech, MSc and MCA courses are available. PhD is also offeredThe admission to the UG programmes will be based on the score or rank obtained in JEE (Main). The student must also have secured at least 75% marks in class 12 from a recognised board. For the reserved category, the eligibility is 65% marks in class 12th. Admission in MTech programmes will be based on the score in GATE exam.For students seeking admission in Masters in Computer Applications have to appear for the NIMCET exam. During the allotment of seats, 27% of the seats are reserved for OBC, 7.5% is for ST, 15% for SC and 10% for the economically weaker sections of the society.NITR has a dedicated placement cell that organises all the activities related to recruitment. They connect with the companies who visit the campus for recruitment. Students are also assisted by the faculty to face interviews and tests conducted by the companies. Pre-placement talks are arranged by the institute for letting the students know what the companies expect from them. In the recruitment session of 2019, more than 80 companies visited the institute. The average salary offered to the B.Tech students was 7.6 LPA.Out of the different streams, Computer Science and Engineering students received the highest number of offers which is 88. IT students received 80 offers. I studied CSE in NIT RAIPUR from 2013-2017. The college has improved a lot and has been improving day by day. Pretty good infrastructure. Good faculty. Nice students. Hostel facility is available only for half of the students. Overall the college is quite good but there is always something that needs to be improved with it.
