I witness a incident at the unique thrift on october14,2021 @5:15pm at the unique thrift store young man who was homeless caught stealing and the security person at the store , grab the young man so he wouldnt get away...The young man told the security guard please let me go!The security guard at unique grab the guy knocked him up against the wall numerous times then handcuffed him until the police officers came !I felt so bad for this homeless man the way he was treated!The police arrived and the security person told him what happened!I never heard of a thrift shop security person being able to handcuff a shoplifter and being beat!I never seen nothing like this come into a thrift store..I witness a lot of incidents at this thrift store but this was the worst!I too had an a problem with the Westbury store 2 years ago..With the store manager assistantHe refused to give me my merchandise I paid for. I refuse to show on my receipt for my merchandise.. the manager proceeded to get my attention by hitting me on my arm numerous times so I call the police department cuz I felt I was being attacked so the store manager assistance gave me my merchandise and I left and he told me never to come back again!

There is perhaps no category of shop than i visit more often than Thrift shops-your Goodwills, your Salvation Armys. Most are trying to financially support a charity while others are for profit . MyUnique falls among the latter. I usually dont enjoy for profit thrift stores as much mainly because i find that they charge more for their goods. The are usually less discoveries. I am happy to say MyUnique is the exception though. Large and stocked to the rafters, MyU offers up some mighty excellent items, especially clothing, at very reasonable prices. The quality is not consignment store (you wont find cleaned and ironed pieces here) but they have luxury and brand names in abundance. Home goods section is quite decent but not memorable and electronics had a decent selection. I had a great time at MyU and I think its worth a trip to Jamaica if you are any sort of thrift store junkie. Not easy to find, the entrance is on a side street. Almost looks like youre entering a subway.

Is my favorites store are something different to buy here. In special went you cannot afford buy somethings different from other higher prices regular stores and they are some brand new, almost new, are user in good condition or little bad condition, longer if is still working or if is worthy to buy. CHECK OUT YOUR MOBILE PHONE LOOKING FOR MODEL# OF BRAND NAME. Be smart.You just have to pick carefully or just get some blessings on the time came up.You be saves a lot of money& it has g good bargains if you know how to shopping right. I have been going since 1998 from Brooklyn to Queen.

I think Unique believe its a department storeand forgets that the stuff they sell are donated , you can purchase the same things brand new in other store for unique price.They should definitely do better.

I love Unique, the Bronx one is the best (always a mob scene) but after they closed the Brooklyn one this is the only other one closest to me. Not as good as the ones in Long Island but they have a huge variety of stuff. Bought stuff for sewing, got vintage toys and nice handbags here. Handbags are the most overpriced item in the store but the rest of the store has good deals.

Very disrespectful employee Anthony .Im so disappointed this employee stops me from making my purchase .They put a price of $24 not a brand item he forgets its a thrift store and anywhere you work dont bring your attitude if you having a bad day customers dont need to deal with that .That goes for the other women you disrespect today also .So thanks to him not letting me make my purchase I decided to leave the test of the things I was going to buy .

Always a great deal if youre looking for vintage electronics, or electronics and appliances in general. Prices are reasonable, especially during their 25% off days (Mondays for all, Thursdays for VIP app users), and their 50% off special event days.

Some of their staff especially the new ones at the Jamaica, Queens locations are very rude. There is a Spanish guy with black studs in his ears who thinks customers looking through clothing are in his way. He was very snappy, rude to me because he wanted to hang clothing exactly where i was looking through clothing. If the customer doesnt look through the racks to buy clothing, how will he get paid? An employee working on the floor should be patient and smart enough to get out of the way! When i told him he was rude, he sarcastically iterated customer, customer in a domineering way and started insulting me in Spanish to a by-stander. Unique needs to weed out these kind of employees and keep the old wonderful ones we all know...

I go here for the thrift stop which is downstairs, then take a left. There are used items on sale here and the bargain you get depends on the particular item. Inspect items carefully before you purchase them. Lotta junk here but occasionally you can find what you need/want at a good price.

I’m a citizen of the united State I’m a working office manager at a medical office and today I was in the Unique Store at Jamaica Ave today buying a Christmas garland (pine) to decorated my office I found 2 similar one have 2.99 price marked and the next one have the sticker and I ask if is possible charge the same price twice and the Attendad call a person and he say no. I don’t take the merchandise and we bought 2 other items when I in the door the security approach me and tell I have to follow him, when I’m in the office an Asian lady (don’t identify herself) tell I have to give my iD and sign first she ask me if I need someone translate and she say she hate Latin people. Never again went to a place like that special went you have a RACIST ATTITUDE 😡😡😡😡😡

It is a very nice second hand store I usually find good items in the shop. Like a playstation for 15 dollars, or a nice coat for 30. But sometimes the clothing is on the floor or the toys are just all over the section. Not entirely their fault, but could look a bit better

I agree with other reviewers stating that prices here are over priced. You can go to a salvation army or goodwill and spend much less on comparable products. I saw some cute bags from Coach, Dooney and Bourke, and Kipling.I loved the bags until I saw the prices. Most of the designer bags are selling for $19.99, $24.99, and $29.99 respectively. The bags were in okay condition some had small defects but for these prices it is not worth their asking price. You can buy these same bags for less on eBay. I found one bag for $7.99 that appeared to be a green snake skin and super cute. When I got to the register to pay for my item the cashier indicated that the bag didnt have a tag. Before approaching the register I knew it was on so I found that odd. I asked if someone could create a tag, the cashiers response was not today, come back tomorrow. I dont reside in the area and after their lack luster service I will not return. I was sure it was on when I approached the register. There was not enough to bring me back to this location. Do yourself a favor and save your carfare and go to a different thrift store. If your shopping for specific items either shop online or on eBay. They are trying to mark up their goods to reflect online prices. Definitely not worth the time or effort to spend here.

Friendly staff and clean organized store

Verbally abused by both managers Abdullah and Louisa, as well as Jeff from security, and all because the manager was unable to control the frustrated staff. I have reported the abuse to headquarters but no one has contacted me. If you shop there, be aware you may be threatened with police for no reason.

Nice place overall, unfortunatey people with children think that the toys section is some sort of daycare.

Very simple donation spot. Its like a good will hidden in the heart of Jamaica queens. They had a vast variety of inventory as well! Took a quick gander and saw some gems about the place. This place is a hot mess, and I love it. The prices are fabulous and I always find something amazing. I picked up a vintage tea cup for 2 bucks and a leather purse for 4 which online retailed for 110.

Great looking shoes & prices but not enough shoe benches for trying on shoes. They have 3 isles of shoes, $5.00, $7.00, $9.00 & $12.99 plus the front of store they shud have at least 4 benches to try on shoes. Too popular not to have more than 2 small benches.other than that its a good store when your looking for a bargain.in a hurry.

Awesome Thrift shop. If you have a budget to buy cheap audio equipment this is the place to be. The vinyl selection is fantastic and cheap as well as the audio Equipment here is superb. Found an old Technics Sl-1200 for $20 used and in working condition!

The place is crowded and messy. I do not mind and have found good deals. Finding a friendly customer service person is a rarity. If you want to get in and get out quick then choose somewhere else. I like this area and the places nearby so I do not mind spending a couple of hours. The flea markets upstairs usually have good deals too. It’s very close, by NYC standards, to a main subway hub and several buses.

Unique has some very nice items but Ivenoticed that in recent months theyve drastically increased their prices on their clothing, shoes,and pocketbooks. I primarily shop for bags and shoes at this Jamaica Queens store. On my last two visits I saw used pocketbooks and shoes priced at $19.99,$29.99, 39.99, even a pair of boots for $49.99. They seem to think that an item having a name brand.. Nine West, Cole Haan,Ann Klein, Betsey Johnson ,Calvin Klein etc warrants pricing this merchandise at an increased price. They need to be mindful that this is still a THRIFT STORE not a high end consignment store. Name brand or not its still used and should be priced more reasonably. They also need to place at least a few chairs in the womens Dept so that people can more easily try on shoes. I like the special VIP app sales esp those 50% off sales.

For used stuff, it’s over-priced!!The staff are neither helpful nor friendly.Having found two reasonable items I proceeded to the cashier, she couldn’t speak a word of English!The items were taken to the manager’s office..when I enquired the manager in a hostile tone informed me I cannot have the items because the tags were switched.I felt embarrassed!!!My friends & I will never go back there. We can get better items for quarter of their price!!!

I had two experiences. Today they had a 50% off sale for MLK day.... my shopping experience was good... found some great finds at an amazing price... was feeling really good about the deal Id be getting for some things I really needed to update my winter wardrobe. . but my experience went downhill when I got to the register.They kept making announcements saying that there was 3 ways to get the discount today... through the app (which I had but wouldnt load and kept stopping) like there facebook page (which I did but once I did that they said the code wasnt working on the page to get the discount and the other option was to use the key tag (which they told me wouldnt work either since I did not have one already and they couldnt give me one) so Im standing at the register embarrassed.... it was a huge scene like I did something wrong. . When I did what was announced by management to get the discount... but somehow technology wasnt on my side or the stores..... apparently. Security was standing right by me like I was doing something wrong. It was just very uncomfortable. Im not sure if the app finally loaded or if the employee was just being sympathetic because I got the discount... but it was just a headache... getting it. Which is unfortunate because I was happy with my shopping experience just not checkout... and I left frustrated. Next time Ill screenshot the code for any sales if I plan on shopping that sale.My advice to management.... would be if you announce various ways to get the discount in addition to having the app... make sure its actually possible and working. My app wasnt working... which I assume was my fault... but the facebook wasnt working either.... which was misleading information by management.

This rating is for Google maps on direction to this location. This rating isnt on the store itself.Its dumb how Google maps tells you to that the L train to Manhattan, then the F train to Jamaica Parsons station. Then have you walk a lot of blocks. That makes no sense. Google maps seriously needed to upgrade and include a section where people can suggest travel directions.*** Take the L train to Boardway Junction then take the J train to Parsons/Archer station. After that you only have to walk a few blocks. Plus its a faster trip.

Went in here to go to a hair braiding to get some faux locs done. To start the store is a big mess; some stations are clean while others arent. The hair braiding place I went to was called Mariams hair braiding. I will never ever go back there. The place was very small and dirty but I didnt really care about that as long as they could get the job down. I showed the ladies working there the style I wanted. I specified that I wanted it exactly like it. They said okay. Long story short the woman doing my hair tried to do some of the style but not everything. When I questioned her about it, she had an attitude. If youre going to have an attitude please dont do hair. To make things worse the lady doing my hair had me give her $40 to buy more packets of hair which she said I needed but come to find out she had used too much hair and I didnt have to waste extra money. I was really upset by this but I accepted it. What made me really upset was the fact that not even a day later, the locs which she said should last 6 months have started to unravel. In total I spent $240 for these locs and Im extremely disappointed. I will be asking for a refund whether its half or whole and I will be calling the corporate headquarters of Unique. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO A HAIR BRAIDING PLACE HERE.

Come here usually after school on Mondays for the 25% off. I found a plethora of Nike, Adidas, Reebok and Champion whenever I go, the max paying was $7 for a sweater and about $2-$3 for a shirt which beats paying $15. If your into that type of clothing give it a visit an try out clothes in the fitting room because the size tags arent always what they seem.

They check Ebay and give you ebay prices ESPECIALLY for video games and consoles plus tax which will be more than Ebay! Found a beat up PS2 for $70 in their store, in other thrift stores, you find it for $20 or even less, same condition! They even hide them behind their counter because they price them very high as Ebay! Not to mention, the place smells sooo bad!
