The pesto chicken sub was delicious. However, there were at least 5 staff behind the counter, (or perhaps staff and friends?), joking around and having a good time, not paying much attention to business. Checkout was quick, after waiting a rather long time for the sandwich with no other orders pending.

Had a roast beef sandwich there today. Very very good and homemade bread. Will go back soon

This place has had its ups and downs, but its seems to have lost its charm over the last couple of years. Used to have a great deli with excellent options, a coffee/espresso bar. Now, its has nothing to offer.Id rather drive into Brattleboro or go to the coop from something.

Had a good time. Theyre short staffed si the gift shop on the second floor wasnt open, but the staff are friendly and they sell some tasty treats and cooling drinks. Had a chocotaco and some yogurt drinks.

There should be Michelin ratings for general stores... great place!

The Putney General Store is a great place for breakfast on the go, lunch, or a sweet snack at the end of the day. Ive gone here for everything from bug spray to seltzer, cookies, and salads. What a great resource for the community!

Great fun to visit on our vacation. Breakfast of fresh frittata and coffee. Welcoming staff and a very pleasant atmosphere. Id be a regular if I lived closer!

Nice place to get some very good food, some general essentials and little gifts.Got some great food here, all a la carte style. The variety is really nice like potstickers, Indian, sandwiches, burritos, fantastic Mac and cheese and many others. Prices are really good as well, especially for the quality.Only issue is the place gets cramped and chaotic really fast with more than a few people in there. This can also cause bad service because of all the different people ordering, browsing and trying to pay.

Love the food here but the service is seriously lacking. I was standing at the order window and the girl decides that she is going to help the lady who jumped in front of me. This is the 4th time either me or my woman have either had an issue with service or just a plain nasty attitude.

The up stairs has a mini store of toys,crafts, and clothes.

A nice corner nook to Vermonts Country living. I found this hidden gem while traveling thru Putney, VT. I love the country feeling as well as the people working there. I had a deli sandwich and ate it there overlooking a brook waterfall. It takes you back to a time when things were simple.

Stopped off in Putney after a ski trip because it was close to the highway, and the general store was open even in a bad snowstorm. Heard one employee say that they mainly came in because they knew someones prescription needed to be filled - lovely people, really!We got sandwiches, burritos, a salad and coffee. They serve the food to you at a cafe counter or little tables. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh.The store selection is great for a small grocery with a variety of local choices of yogurts, honey, syrup, craft brew and cider. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is homey. All in all a very pleasant stop.

I dont think of Putney General as a store, It is my sandwich shop and their chicken burritos are delicious. Everyone is polite to boot.😀🍴A bit pricey but never disappointed.

This is the store my grandmother and my grandfather grew up at until they were 12 and 14 .then they moved to Massachusetts and had 12 children .
