It has several inscriptions dating back to the medieval Chola and later Pandya period. The temple has six daily rituals at various times and three yearly festivals. The temple has several shrines with that of Agastiswara and his consort Pakampiriyal Nayagi being the most prominent. The annual Brahmotsavam (prime festival) is attended by thousands of devotees from far and near.
Shri Agatheeswar temple is located outside kanchipuram town...Exactly located between Palar to Ambi location - very close to Essar petrol bunk and Dhaba...In these temple, u can worship only lord Shiva, Nandi and Sandigeshwarar...No other statues are available...Temple will be pleasant surrounded by full of trees...Since the temple is out of city and nearer to highway, going alone is not advisable
