Such a peaceful place. I spent a wonderful morning sitting here watching pilgrims, pigeons, sacred cows and priests around this beautiful lake. Everyone is required to remove their shoes when walking here. You can either leave shoes up by the steps or carry them with you. You are asked not to take photos of the people bathing in the lake, out of respect for the sanctity of the place.

The Pushkar lake has around 19 Ghats. The Brahma Ghat is at a walkable distance from the Bhrama Temple. Would not recommend taking your car as the roads are really narrow and there is traffic. The lake has water but the Ghat is not clean and you can see cows roaming freely. Thankfully I was not approached by any Pandit for Pooja or dakshina.

Jagatpita Brahma Mandir is a Hindu temple situated at Pushkar in the Indian state of Rajasthan, close to the sacred Pushkar Lake to which its legend has an indelible link. The temple is one of very few existing temples dedicated to the Hindu creator-god Brahma in India and remains the most prominent among them.

Pushkar lake and its 52 ghats are beautiful and spiritual. Come in the morning to see people praying, bathing, but be careful. Some cheaters call themselves Brahmin will approach foreigners, give them flowers and force them to do a ceremony then ask for money. Also, dont take with you a camera, if you dont like hassles

View is beautiful, however as we arrived a guy dressed in white with a red scarf who identified himself as a ‘holy man’, tried really hard to get us down to the water for a ‘cleansing ceremony’ holding a trey with coconut, spices and giving us one flower each. When I declined, he became even more confrontational. I then discovered that if we followed him he would have charged us 3000 rupees. It’s a shame that people like him try to scam tourists in such a spiritual setting. Awful.

It is one of the 52 ghats on the holy Pushkar Lake. This lake indicates the place where Lord Brahma had meditated. People bleave that Lord Brahma approached Lord Vishnu and expressed his desire to meditate. Lord Vishnu plucked a lotus flower from his naval and dropped it on earth.it fell at the location of Pushkar Lake. In Sanskrit Pushp means lotus flower and kar means hand. Name Pushkar has been derived from combination of Pushp and Kar. Wifes presence is essential for a Hindu Yagya. Lord Brahma took his second wife Rukmani for this Yagya. When his first wife Savitry came to know about this fact, she got annoyed and cursed Brahma that he will have only one temple at that place and no other temple would be made in his name at any other place of the world and people will not offer anything in his temple. As a result people just visit the Brahma temple and dont offer anything in that temple. Instead people present their offerings at Brahma Ghat. Over a period of time the kings of this area on fulfilment of their wishes kept adding ghats to this lake as a mark of their gratitude. As on today this lake has 52 ghats.Approach to this ghat is narrow. One should park car at an appropriate place and walk to this ghat.

Even one can give rupee 101 to pandit directly.
