Discovery HikeWonderful experience. Not enough words to describe these bunch of people they were experienced, happy, kind, caring, talented, well prepared, extremely sensitive about the wareabouts of two ladies travelling alone. They served everything at our convenience. Two amazing pahadi people Ganga Rana and Prakash Rana and their team were really humble and friendly. The trip was well planned and they were punctual in every aspect. Our pickup point was from Dehradoon to Sankri in a good transport (Bolero). Ride was smooth and we enjoyed the company and photography talent of Ganga Rana all through out the drive and trek. They had all the necessary accessories required eg. Crampons, Gaytors and camping related things like Tent and sleeping bags already set before our arrival at every base camp. Food arranged and prepared by Prakash Rana and team were more than sufficient and also healthy and tasty. Rana has good understanding about people potential and would push people according to their capabilities. This was my first experience with snow and snow trek and I appreciate that Ganga Rana spent time to provide me with sufficient instructions beforehand. So our whole trek was enjoyable. It was amazing experience for us and we are glad we took this challenge and extremely happy that we chose Discovery Hike for our trip. During the trek we came to know that Ganga Rana’s father was also involved in trek way before it got popularity among casual trekkers, so Ganga Rana has it in his blood😊. This young boy has a lot of potential and we wish him all the best from the bottom of our heart.

A peak with a view: Kedar KanthaThe trek to Kedar Kantha will certainly leave you wanting for more if this will be your first ever trek in life to the summit of the most awe inspiring 360 degree mountain view. We were fortunate that our tour organizer, Ganga Rana, personally escorted and guided us through the trek from Dehradoon to Sankri to the summit. Our entire journey of five days with him was filled with the authentic narrations of stories from his village, his childhood, his trekking adventures, and much more that bonded us to the environment of our trek. Apart from trekking, he is also crucially passionate about photography which worked to our benefit. His entire team also deserves to be commended for the amount of personal attention and care they showed in making our stay warm and cosy at minus ten degree temperatures. With beaming eyes and cheerful demeanor they were always available on call. The steaming hot meals, crunchy tea time snacks, lip smacking soups, and ‘gulab jamuns’ (Indian sweet) prepared and served with a smile by Prakash, Rana’s partner and co trek leader, added the unexpected delight to the whole trip. Wonder boys indeed! Something that impressed me above all was their initiative to hand a Green Bag to their trekkers for holding their litter on the trek.At no point were we left feeling vulnerable being two female trekkers which speaks volumes about the safety and respect towards women trekkers. One personal advise: follow their list of items to carry with you. Anything not on their list is certainly not what you need. They know better, trust them!
