Little hidden gem of a temple. Stone structure with an old Ganpati Idol. The Idol is really old style, the kinds you dont see anymore. Way more gorgeous than todays overdone, mass produced, copy paste Ganpati idols we are used to seeing. The architecture of the temple is so soothing to the eyes. The black stone with wood frames is really beautiful. :) I hope to find more of these in the city.

Apx 300 year old ganpati temple and still a underrated place in Pune. It’s sort of hidden gem in Pune ; The temple has an idol of Lord Ganesh with 3 trunks and 6 hands, seated on a peacock, which in fact is a rare depiction of this deity. The temple is constructed on a high platform and has a small courtyard. I have not seen any beautiful temple than this in Pune :)

Very calm place having lot of archeological importance....heaven for photographers in the city.A peshwekalin ganpati temple...it is a very mysterious place the ground floor is closed and opens only once a year. There is a natural stream downside and a shiva temple as well . Ground floor opens only on gurupornima of every year.Place is flooded with sculptures beautifully carved. Many architecture students visit this temple.

One of the oldest and well carved Temple right in the heart of the city. This temple may be built for loard Shiva but how Lord Ganpati placed here is unknown thing.Ganapti here has three trunks. Thats why this temple known as trishund Ganesh mandeer. This temple does not have domb which is very important thing in Hindu temple. Carvings are not ancient but very good. History goes back to peshava raj.

In the by-lanes of the bustling Somwar Peth, lies an almost hidden Trishund Mayureshwar Ganpati temple.🌼 ABOUT TRISHUND GANPATI TEMPLE, PUNEA small but beautiful temple located near the Kamala Nehru Hospital chowk, was constructed with a direct approach to the banks of the Nagzari stream.🌼 HISTORY OF TRISHUND GANPATI TEMPLE, PUNEThe construction of this temple was started on 26th August 1754 by Bhimjigiri Gosavi from Dhampur near Indore and was completed in 1770.Much remains to be explored and documented about my Pune journey yet. But for all that I know, it is a treasure trove waiting to be discovered.🌼 ARCHITECTURE OF TRISHUND GANPATI TEMPLE, PUNEThe temple has an idol of Lord Ganesh with three trunks and six hands, seated on a peacock, which in fact is a rare depiction of this deity. The temple is constructed on a high platform and has a small courtyard. The Trishund Ganpati Mandir is a masterpiece of stone masonry carvings by Bhimjigiri Gosavi and is considered to be a monument of the Gosavi sect. The entire construction is in black stone.🌸 SanchitaReviews | 3/5🌸 Where: Somwar Peth🌸 When: 7am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 9 pm🌸 Entry Fees | None🌸 Photography | Allowed with permission🌸 Parking | Since Trishund Ganpati Temple is in the narrow and congested bylanes of Somwar Peth, Pune, parking can be an issue for vehicles. Hence its advisable to travel by auto or any other public transportation.#SanchitaSairangKshatriya#trishundganpati #pune #incredibleindia
