A beautiful hindu temple ...Shri Kshetra Soneshwar, Songaon -Soneshwar is a pilgrimage site at a distance of 12 km from Baramati on the confluence of Karha and Nira rivers. The confluence of Karha and Nira rivers further joins the river Bhima at Narsinghpur. The river Bhima is considered to be in the form of Shiva, Neera in the form of Vishnu and Karha in the form of Brahma. The legends of their creation are in the Puranas. There are various Shivlings on the banks of river Karha. These Mahadev temples are in good condition and in a very bad condition. These temples are located at Saswad, Jejuri, Narayanpur, Medad, Malad and Songaon. Soneshwar is the eleventh temple. In the past, this place was Nandi of Parisa. It is called Soneshwar as the golden peak and the pinnacle of gold. Due to the confluence of rivers, this place is considered suitable for spiritual practice. Renovation of the temple Union Minister Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar started the renovation of the temple in 2003 with special attention. Accordingly, Rs. 17.5 lakhs were given on behalf of Chhatrapati Sahakari Sugar Factory and Rs. Out of this amount, beautification, lighting, kirtan mandap and ghat have been completed. Kirtan and Bhajan programs are held at this place every Monday. Shravan Pournima is celebrated. Also on Mahashivaratri a big yatra takes place here. Many devotees are demanding that this place should be given the status of a pilgrimage site.Situated at the holy confluence of the rivers Karha and Nira, Soneshwar in Songaon in Baramati taluka is famous as the Jagrat Devasthan. Thousands of devotees from all over the state visit this place. Shri Soneshwar is located 12 km east of Baramati on the Karha-Nira confluence in the main confluence area of Pune district. After the confluence of Nira and Bhima, the flow of those rivers goes to Padharpur area. Bhima is considered as Shivarupa, Nira as Vishnurupa and Karha as Brahmarupa Various legends of his creation are prevalent. From the source (i.e. near the fort) on the banks of the Karha or Puranic name Kariyaganga (ie near the fort) 11 Lingas and their Bharansud Mahadev temples are in good condition and in a very bad condition. There are ancient temples like Jejuri, Narayanpur, Morgaon, Baramati, Medad, Malad and Songaon. After receiving the epoch-making life by the grace of Lord Shiva, the Markadeya sages decided to spend their days worshiping Shiva and established 11 Shiva temples with the help of Baladhay Shakti. Due to the sage Shri Markandey, these places are considered to be awakened by the grace of Lord Shiva. Shri Kashi Vishweshwar at Baramati Kasba, Bhimashkanar at Medad, Shri Soneshwar are the eleventh temples. Legend has it that the Shivalinga and the crown of this temple were made of gold, hence the name of the temple. There is a holy shrine called Shri Soneshwar. Due to the confluence of rivers, such a beautiful place is very suitable for spiritual practice. At a cost of around Rs. 50 lakhs, the entire temple has been beautified, lamps, kirtan mandap, ghats have been completed. Kirtan Bhajans are held at this place every Monday. Shravan Pournima is celebrated.Surrounded by water on three sides from the boat, the beauty of this temple is more open in the rainy season. You have to go by boat to the temple. On the south side there is a road leading directly to the temple. But the fun of going by boat is something else! As the area is green, tourists often stop at this place.Another feature of this place is that during 1967-68, the Archaeological Research Center conducted research on this place and concluded that the temple dates back to the Pandava period and a different culture flourishes here.A group dance of European bhords can be seen in the evening. This is a boon for bird watchers. A large number of Bhoradya birds come here from Europe at certain times of the year. Apart from this, there are various bird colonies here. Along with Devdarshan, bird watching also takes place. Therefore, tourists, devotees, bird watchers should visit Soneshwar regularly.
