Overall view:Sweet Misal... Good quality ingredients used, The taste however is very shallow, not the kinds that will stay on the tongue for long... I would have liked the taste to be strong and little spicy...The negative Part :The bread quality- the edges of the sliced bread were quiet hard. Kids definitely will not be able to tear through... I myself left the edges.Extra Sample: Its charged 🤨Shallow taste: It was sweet and non lasting taste. Even if you do not drink a drop of water, your lips wouldnt get any burning sensation. Not something that can be associated with a Misal!!!

One of the top 10 Misal’s in Pune city. Located at the entrance of Tulsibag in city centre. I have been visiting this restaurant since several years. Initially, this restaurant was only on the ground floor with around ~8 tables. Since few years, they have setup the restaurant on the first floor. There are more than 10 tables I guess. The waiting time during the peak hours is ~15-20 minutes. However, the wait time is rewarding as you are about to experience the best Misal’s in town. There are other snacks like Kanda Bhajji, Buttermilk but the main attraction is the Misal which comes in Medium & Spicy variant. The Misal has poha, shev & other farsan. The Gravy when tasted is spicy, tangy & be sure most of your taste buds gets activated. Presentation is good & service is quick. Butter milk goes well with the Misal. Since its popular you might have to wait on stairs for your turn .Prices are reasonable.No parking space as its in tulshibag.And no parcel if you are not carrying dibba along .

I wanted to have the puneri misal but the misal here was just average it lacked spices, the kanda bhajji are horrible and also theres no washroom.

Probably the most iconic among all misal places in Pune.Like most things in Pune this place is historic and has a legacy behind it which few eateries can boast of.Their definition of misal is different to say the least. First of all theres smashed potato instead of matki and the rassa is of typical Brahmin kitchen style with lots of ground peanuts and sweet in taste with chunks of tomatoes in it. If you compare this with conventional misal recipe , there will be no similarities except the name. As if it was not enough, they serve it with slice bread instead of paav( bun) which itself is a major diversion.The taste is pretty different unsurprisingly. Mostly on the sweeter side with the tomatoes and sugar giving a sweet-sour tang.Along with misal they also serve side dishes like kanda bhaji (pakoda) , sheera, pohe and buttermilk. I tried buttermilk but was disappointed. It lacked any taste .The place is clean and hygienic as it should be and service fairly quick. Prices are high probably due to the fame . And they charge exorbitant prices for extras like ₹20 for extra half bowl of shev which is simply ridiculous.Try this for a sweet variety of misal and take a Punekar with you who will convince you how this is the best misal in the whole world.

Bit difficult to find - Google gets confused because as its located in one of many bylanes of the market in Tulsibaug.Also, finding parking for even my bike was a trouble. Parked it outside a shop with closed shutters with though there was a risk of it getting towed away.However, these are the only complaints youll hear from me regarding this place.The food was an absolute delight.Misal: Potatoes, flat poha chivda, sev & chopped onions.Sample: Spicy & made with tomatoes, chillies onions & coconut. They give you a big mug of steaming hot sample & youre welcome to pour in as much as you like.They also serve 2 slices of bread with it. Though, the sides of the bread slice served were very hard, I didnt mind as I just dipped them into the sample before eating.Overall, its tasty, yummy & definitely delicious.

May 2019. Pretty decent misal-pav. Rs 70. Taste is good. The USP of this place is that they serve the dry and liquid parts of the misal separately. So you can add the liquid little-by-little - then the sev in the misal stays crunchy right to the end. They call the liquid part sample, btw :-) . Taak was good too, Rs 10.
