Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, commonly known as Gokhale Institute, is one of the oldest research and training institutes in Economics in India. I went there for a musical event organised by an external organisation early morning. The morning sunlight, beautiful vocals made the campus come to life. The buildings are solid stone, of a bygone era of Pune. They are conserved, and so are the ancient trees. Some buildings are retro fitted for the new age, but the campus looks timeless. Great place for film shoots which are history related.

History:Gokhale Institute was established in 1936 R.R. Kale, member of the servants of India society.It is the oldest Research and training institute in Economics in the country.It is dedicated to research into the socio-economic dimensions of the Indian society and carries forward the legacy of Gopal Krishna Gokhale who founded the servants of India society in 1905.The institute has a serene and beautiful campus of 5.25 acres and is located in the urban setting of Pune in Deccan Gymkhana area.

Girish p wrote comment to satisfy his ego and with ill intention. He wanted information for admission for kid studying in 10th std. We do admit students for our B.Sc. (Economics) program after 12th std and purely based on the performances in written exam and on merit order. We provided detail information on the website and accessible to all people. It is clearly mentioned in the brochure about qualification, and procedure of admission. He was trying to extract information on the same and thats why I suggested to visit our website to get all information. However, this man was interested to talk to only lady and so, not happy when I interrupted. This man is trying to prove that Institute is not good as he could satisfy his ego. This man was trying to educate us about the British Council Curriculum. This man had ill intention to malign the image of the Institute. This man does not understand, how professors take pain to nurture the good values among the students in GIPE. This is the first a egoist man visited to our office in my 17 years carrier in GIPE. He tried to teach us how he is internet shavy and always connected. But this feedback may disturb any professors, who nurture good values among the students. No father can write this, if he wants his kid in our institute. His intention is not to admit his kid, but malign the image of Professor who is tirelessly looking after all process of admission. We do not entertain the person, who tries to canvas, and manipulate our system to meet his requirement. GIPE works for merit and high degree of credibility. If anyone maligns the image of our Institute through media, legal action will be taken under Information Technology Act at appropriate time. He did not know how professors value the students, and invest time for the growth of academic carrier of the students and how students love us. We are mentors for students and making students carrier brights and their academic future. This man does not know how to respect teacher. This man should learn that the value of teachers and how to respect the teachers first. He never respected teacher when he visited our office. But suddenly he became angry and left the office. Every day many parents visit our office to enquire on admission and we give required information to all and many times also tell parents to visit website . They never became angry like this gentleman. The moment, I used the word to visit our website for details, he became so angry. I did not understand, why he became so angry and why he wanted to talk junior staff, when head of the section was there.This man shouted while going back and told us, he would write negative feedback on website. Will this help him to get admission in GIPE? The quality of man lies in how he can value and respect teacher and only teachers are the instrumental to make students respectable person in society and no one else. If he wants his kid in our Institute, only teachers can nurture good values here as they are under teachers supervision. If he disrespects teachers, then how teachers will inculcate good values among students. Teacher is the only person, who can take place after parent and nurture all values and improve quality among the students. Teachers are highly respected because teachers play a significant role in their life. Ego makes man arrogant and is killer of relationship and values of personality of a man. Since I am a teacher, I have only one objective and that is to make students bright and most respectable person in the society. I teach students how to respect others and how to pay society and with academic progress. After all, this is not admission time for him and any one and we do not give admission to 10th std kid that this man wanted now to enquire and we admit students on purely merit basis at GIPE entrance exam and interviews in case of requirement.
