Roopali was always famous for filter coffee and Mysore masala dosa. But as its a generation of café and quick bites, the crowd here is less then earlier.Wish this place turns like it was when my grandpa used to take me to have breakfast in Vaishali and then he use have discussions with hes friends at Roopali handing me a a cup of tea and a biscuit. It was really a good time back then :)
Went to finally checkout what all the buzz about the place was. It was decently crowded for breakfast and almost all tables were occupied by 9am. The sign outside that says Cash or Card only is a huge turnoff in this digital era and especially during pandemic. Grow up guys, dont get stuck with age-old traditions and processes. You need to meet customers expectations and convenience. Menu is widespread and loved, I mean absolutely loved the Dahi Wada and Ghee plain dosa. Arguably the best dishes I have had anywhere in that area. Kudos for this. The tea served is in paper cups and is atleast 150 or 200 ml and not too less quantity. Also you can get tea and coffee here only if you order some food along with it. Follows covid protocols and cleans and disinfects surfaces after customers leave. Very helpful and humble staff who are attentive to the needs. Why low rating then? - Restaurants are supposed to be clean and hygienic, not just the tables and service area. The kitchen and food storage area requires pest control as there were small cockroaches running over the covers of sandwich breads (though it was covered). And this is a turnoff if youre especially a cleanliness freak.
Excellent reputation and very good quality + taste maintained from last 20years when I started visiting. Set Dosa with Fresh made Butter is our favourite here with Tea.
After pandemic i developed new hobby to visit which are there for more than 25 yrs. Roopali is one of them. It is known as daters adda. Popular among college kids who are known to spend hrs here just on cup of coffee...Thats why now they have put up notice mentioning NO SEATING INSIDE FOR ONLY A CUP OF COFFEE.Coming to food..its decent but not for hard core south indian buff...i mean the sambar here is sweet...not the usual taste.
Place is good food is good.Overall good experience.you can have snacks to fill yourself before you go street shopping on FC road
They were famous for their filter coffee. Not really happy with the coffee now a days. Using less coffee more water. Perfect cost cutting. Taking the advantage of being a famous. I will definitely not recommend you to buy such costly coffee with no taste at all. I hope they will understand soon that customers are not coming blindly in the hotel.
Amazing place and i would suggest to must try it if you dont want to go to Vaishali or wadeshwar. They have amazing options from South Indian food to Fast foods and you will enjoy it and also you will prefer to go next time also. I had experience of veg thali which was around Rs130/- and i must say its worth it.
Visiting since 1975.authentic south indian food.idli, vada, dosa, cheese chili toast, actually the total menucard is worth trying.no other coffee is comparable.
Best south indian place....Panse special dosa, mysore cheese dosa and coffee....
Vaishali and wadeshwar are much better. It was pathetic taste in roopali.
For those who love South Indian food, this is the place! Great taste!Ps- Make sure you have a lot of free time as youll have to wait (most of the time) for a while until you get yourself a table!! But its worth it!
Dining experience was great. Ambience of this place is also good. Quality of food is very good. The hotel staff has taken all the precautions needed and advices by the authorities
Food was good but not met the expectations.
Worst coffee ever had recently. More of water and less of milk. They are just using famous name to serve the costly dishes without any basic quality. The adjacent small shop serves better coffee than Rupali Restaurant. Please dont believe in popularity blindly.
Staff is cooperative and ambiance is great. Covid precautions are taken. South Indian food and filter coffee is best. Lovely place.
Not sweet sambar. Just hits right with a delicious rawa masala dosa. Boomers swear by this place for a reason.
Washroom was very dirty food and coffee was very good
Nice place, enjoyed the coffee a lot. In general food was very nice.
Average restaurant. Ambience is not very remarkable. Food taste is acceptable. Service is good.A mediocre place for a quick meal.
Nice food . Fast service. Good staff, good quality . Try Shrikhand Poori . No parking available. Crowded.
Excellent south indian cuisine. And the atmosphere is lively. Ideal for a chat session with you friends
U r lucky if u get sit over here in just onego
Name the item and you wont disappoint with its taste and quality here.
The restaurant serves very delicious south indian dishes at very nominal price.
Very old joint.Still maintained their quality.Very supportive staff.
Taste is average not worth the money. Staff is good. But THE CASHIER considers himself king of pune. He ill treats every person who doesnt have a cash . A normal panipuri stall has online mode of payment and they dont have it .YOU WILL SEE MANY GOOD REVIEWS PROBABLE THEY ARE FAKE.To conclude : दुरून डोंगर साजरे .Plenty of options are available just DONT GO HERE .Go somewhere where there is POLITENESS AND FOOD WORTH THE PRICE.
We just love the coffee and south indian cuisine here!! Mandatory stop for us.. :)
One of the most authentic space you can eat in Pune...very traditional udipi style thali I had with my wife and it was wonderful. Plus the pricing was 130 something which is very reasonable on FC road Pune. The staff was friendly and didnt stand on your head selling you something. The taste was very good.
All the love for filter coffee will end your search here... modest setup and best taste for all udupi dishes.I like Upama and filter coffee its amazing..For lunch and dinner option you can get PuriBhaji as well..
You are going to FC road and not taking coffee in Roopali is of no use.. awesome coffee with bread tost and lovely south indian food.
Loved it.Especially the Cheese Masala Dosa.
One of the oldest food joints in F.C Road. Has maintained its taste throughout the years. Has been a meet-up point for many years for old and young alike. Filter coffee and plain dosa are a must try here.
Nice Delicious Food ....Clean and Fast Delivery...Enjoyed Mysore Masala Dosa...Loved It...
Believe me they are as good as Vaishali Or Wadeshwar.
Crowed everytime but one of the best place to eat !!
Good place to have Tea and south India food. Nice service. Amazing location
Nostalgic place for Punekars. Good south Indian food and decent coffee.
Well maintained as per covid precaution policies Like cleaning and sanitization..Fast and better service..
Its opposite to bmcc road. Busy during lunch time i.e (1:30pn-3:00pm). Maintained hygiene. Covid-19 safety precautions followed.
Crispy masala dosa is the best in Pune
Best hotel in the city. Only problem is to park our vehicles, otherwise it is very nice, clean and environment friendly place.
Best south indian dishes.. clean environment..best service..twin sister of vaishali hotel....
Strong Filter coffee + Mysore Masala great combo
Uchi Dukan Fika Pakwan.... Chai hai ya garam pani... Overrated hotel.. Waste of money... Small tea stall is making better tea than this hotel... Only showoff... Nothing else...
Very bad tea and hospitality. Not satisfied with tea taste.
Good restaurant for idly dosa in pune
Dosa taste can be improved and more chatni to be added
Staff was so rude ,they dont have evn sense to talk people ,after completing tea and breakfast they are like go away if u complete .thid hotel not even deserve 1 staa
Delicious Food.Enjoyed Mysore Dosa and Burger...
Filter coffee.. cost 50 rupees but totally worth it!!During lockdown they serve in a paper glass which you can take and stand outside.
Best Rava dosa and Filter coffee
This is the 3rd decade am satisfied here..
Its very good service ....machine installation is perfect point....thank you from wecowell
Nice, punekas family restaurant.
If there is a choice between Rupali and Vaishali, they WERE almost the same but NOW foodwise Roopali is definitely better. Roopali was never hype up as much as Vaishali was, yet it has a steady fan following and recommendations. Apparently Vaishali was lately listed by FDA as the most unhygienic kitchen in Pune, a tie they share with Cafe Goodluck. Thankfully Roopali is bang in between the both if you are looking for good food without hype.
It is located on FC Road and right beside FC chat house.Food is always tasty and most dishes serves one personThis is one of the best restaurants which serves South Indian food.Service is good and the servers are polite. The restaurant is maintained well.It is one of the best South Indian restaurants in Pune.Atmosphere is good, fresh, exciting. ( average - 200-300 Rs )Cost is pocket friendly and affordable. It is usually a busy restaurant and you may need to wait 20-25 min. before you can get a table. There are parking slots available but you might not get space for four wheelers.Famous dish is Onion Uttappa
Favourite for South Indian veg delicacies in Pune
Ok... delivery was slow. Coffee & Sandwich was very good.
No ambiance but taste is good
I have not found any closer match to this taste. Unbelievable!!The dining experience was great.
Good food quality and ambience.
Nice place to visit early morning.
Amazing filter coffee! Service is fast, good ambience and have all the measures for hygiene, safety and cleanliness. I recommend the garden seating for large groups..
Horrible coffee they are serving now a daysLiterally a hot waterNo milk can be tasted ….Sambar is the best option which is just at next lane of Vaishali
A other very good veg food joint with a old legacy in pune. The food is really good. The waiters are very friendly and serve with a broad smile. Your will get a lot of interesting stories from some elderly people here and they will welcome you to join their table. Their dahi wada , coffee , khichdi and masala dosa are a must try
Good food . Polite staff
Hygiene and safety impeccably maintained. Very tasty, authentic food. Had their thali which brought back memories of good old days.
Affordable hotel at fc road .Good service.Taste also better but also can improve it.
This place is no less than something like heritage .Service is prompt and fast.Food quality here is also awesomeThough a limited sitting capacity generally we get tables soon here compared to wait time at vaishali. The whole ambience takes u into a different snack and foodie moodA place where id love to keep visiting again and again
Nice place for breakfast and lunch. I only visited here at that time only. The service is good. The food is delicious and worth the price. Try Onion utthapa here, its the best. Also the coffee is good. Ask for pudina Chutney while having anything. The price is also reasonable not for everyday visit. Its a bit crowded on weekends but you can get a table here easily.
Service was courteous and impeccable.Dosa taste was great as usual.A very nostalgic visit.
With the same food as its more popular sibling Vaishali, Roopali has been my preferred breakfast restaurant for almost two decades. Highly recommended.
