चतुः शृंगी is an Indian Deity temple. It holds very importance to localities and is located on the hill top of beautifully built premises. Enjoy the serenity of nature and the divinity of Goddess at this place.Nice temple. Went on a Sunday afternoon. Not much crowded. But people say it tends to get very much crowded during Navratri & weekdays dedicated for goddess Durga. Not much of a climb too. Chatushringi Mata Temple is all about the hill whose name it shares. This goes a long way in explaining why the temple draws people who have no religious inclination at all. On many a Sunday in fact, one can see people pushing themselves towards greater fitness by slugging it out on the steps. And then there are many who would hang out, chat and even do assignments (decidedly a Pune thing) whilst seated in some corner. Chatushringi has something for everyone. The devout can of course head to the top without too much fuss about anything else for their engagement with Punes resident guardian mother / deity. Everyone else can include more pitstops to take in the views or sometimes for more amusing aspects such as a little ornamental bridge. The views are quite brilliant on a clear day and given that this is rather close to the centre of the city, what one sees is rather elementally important to Pune.On weekend mornings, go here before the tourist buses arrive. Also, the snack shack right at the entrance isnt a bad option if youre pressed for time. Like any other place in Pune, they serve a good Poha!

Visited the place on a national holiday (2nd of October) in the middle navratri. The crowd is just overwhelming. Please plan for your hydration and hunger issues if you plan to come here in the auspicious navratri days, as the que is around 2 to 3 hours. The hygiene is not well maintained and needs to be vastly improved. Its highly ironical ad to how india is celebrating the day as no plastic day and you will find plastic litter everywhere. The Mela here is good, you will find a good variety of toys, home goods and food too. There is a separate washroom for gents and ladies here. Police and disaster management personnel are on site considering the huge gathering of people.

The Chattushringi Temple also spelt as Chattushrungi Temple is a Hindu temple in the city of Pune in Maharashtra state of India. The temple is located on the slope of a hill on Senapati Bapat Road. It is said to have been built during the reign of the Maratha kingdom of Peshwas. The temple is looked after by Chattushringi Devasthan (Temple) trustees. Chattushringi (Chattu means four) is a mountain with four peaks. The Chattushringi temple is 90 feet high and 125 feet wide and is a symbol of power and faith. One has to climb more than 100 steps to reach the shrine of Goddess Chattushringi. In the temple premises there are also temples of Goddess Durga and Lord Ganesh. This includes eight miniature idols of Ashtavinayaka. These small temples are located on the four separate hillocks. The legend associated with the temple is that, once there was a rich and prosperous merchant named Durlabhsheth Pitambardas Mahajan who was an ardent believer of Goddess Saptashrungi devi and visited Vani every now and then. But as he grew older, he could no longer travel and this hindered him from visiting the temple and it bought him sorrow in his heart, he prayed Saptashrungi devi with tears and then one night the Goddess Saptashrungi devi appeared in his dream and told him, if you can not come to me, I will come to you & stay near you. She told him to come to a mountain situated in the North-West of Pune & dig there. The place as described by the goddess was traced out and miracle happened as he found a natural statue of goddess (swayambhu devi). He constructed the temple at that place and this is the same temple which was renovated time to time, which is the present temple. The presiding deity of the temple is Goddess Chattushringi, also known as Goddess Ambareshwari. She is also considered as the presiding deity of the city of Pune.
