Ordered food through Zomato. Quantity and quality of the Ishtew has gone down. It was flavourless and sour.
Really bad quality food. We found insect in our food and the funny part is the staff was not agreeing on the fact that it is a insect. Plus service is really poor. Worst place to go. Avoid going there.
DISAPPOINTED!!Idli and Dosa.... Actually.... truly authentic South Indian food.... But when its prepare by local people with least bothering about its test and quality... Put you in huge disappointment.1) Food quality and Test is Just Average.2) Rates are Too much high and certainly not at all meeting upto the level of its quality expectations.3) Service of the restaurant found below average. Only one person is serving as waiter4) No Parking space for four wheeler and you cant even wait in car and stop the car for long time in front of restaurant.5) Very much Expensive and Too much costly compared with quality.6) Goodluck and Best Wishes for IDDOS for future endeavours and lots of scope for the improvement.I Hope that IDDOS will take review in positive manner. Thanks.
Worst southindian food i have eaten till now. I had batata vada for breakfast, it literally seemed as is the stuffing was made the previous night. Very expensive and not matching the expectations we had.
Ill never visit there. I have seen how bad they treat delivery guys from swiggy or zomato.
Well, just went there to try the 4 feet dosa which was too crisp to soak in sambar or chutney, it just crumbled, its good but not that best I mean the sambar was more of like some dal, maybe the day I visited it might be like that & rest of the items would be better in taste than this one, this dosa is just to awe you by seeing it.
Iddos when opened, was an amazing place. I have enjoyed the south Indian delicious food even in office hours.Yesterday I happened to visit it again. Found the difference not only in the overall up-keeping of the place, but also with the quality of food was not as good as it used to be. I am not saying it is bad, but the overall food experience was not the same as it was before. One thing that was same was the filter coffee. Same taste, same aroma.
If you are south Indian food hungry then this should be your go to place. Well located on the main road and easily noticeable, it has a nice ambience with indoor as well as outdoor seating. They will serve food in a proper south Indian way too. Prices are bit on higher side. I, personally did not like the taste much but should try at least once and decide yourself. Sunday can be a waiting here.
Must visit if you are a fan of idli dosa utappa.. little bit expensive but taste is good. If you r in kothrud then must visit
Excellent South Indian food.... Verity of dishes available.... Quick service... Every time we go with min 10 ppl we never had to wait for long time.... must try Podi idly and butter idly.... miniature idly are the best.... one must try the filter coffee here.... All the Chutney are good.... Absolutely recommended for South Indian dish lovers....
Not worth the hype. Tried medu wada sambar. Sambar was ok. Chatni was tasteless. Medu Wada was not crispy. Not worth 110 rs. Place was not hygienic. And those water containers they keep on the table. Urghh. For decoration sake, some ppl do anything that makes the actual item useless. I asked waiter to get me a glass of water. Some ppl say, I did not try their specialty. I would suggest don’t keep anything on the menu which isn’t your specialty.Best places to have best south Indian food are in South India only.
Great taste as always ..Mini butter idly were awesome and Coffee the best forever
We were five driving to Kaas Plateau from Pune on a Saturday morning. To avoid any delays in breakfast, wed looked up a few places and zeroed in on Iddos in Kothrud. The reviews were gushing and mostly, spot on!Firstly, full marks for location. Iddos is in Mahaganesh Colony, Paud Road in Kothrud, close to many other eateries and other businesses. It is on the one-way part of the Paud Road headed towards Deccan and that means getting out of a vehicle and getting to the restaurant are a stroll. This may also have to do with that it was 07:30ish on a Saturday morning.Secondly, the layout and design elements have an inviting air upon first impression which is always a plus. The chairs and tables are laid out in the manner of a outdoor seating in a roadside cafe but with ample shelter above. This must help hugely during the monsoons. The tables are well-spaced out and there are enough of them (approx. 12-15). There is some minimalist decor that announces the Chennai-ness of the place through wall art that tips its hat to the usual: Rajnikanth, Auto-rickshaw, Chennai Central.Onto the food then. The highlight of their menu is the very first item: the Breakfast Combo priced at Rs. 130 (Sep16). It includes 1 Idli, 1 Vada, 1 serving of Pongal/Upma and a Coffee/Tea. If that comes across as a touch expensive, Im happy to report that every item was sumptuous. Three of us ordered this and were all munching away happily. The Podi Mini Idli (12 pcs) is another highlight although it can be thought of as overpriced too (Rs. 100). We gave into our taste buds and ordered two of this. The podi (gunpowder) and the idi were of such such fine texture that they fairly melted into ones mouth: the hallmark of good idlis. One oddity was that they said dosa items would start only at the end of the breakfast timings (7 AM to 09:30 AM). That does leave one with a limited menu consisting of some idlis and vadas. That said, the varieties include Butter Idli, Karuveppilai (Curry Leaf) Idli, Ellu Idli, Fried Idli and the aforementioned Podi Mini Idli.Service was good without being excellent. The final verdict hinged on the tea and coffee. We ordered 5 cups of the latter and I loved it! So thats the gist on the Iddos breakfast. Their full and vastly more varied menu (including Adai, Appam, Idiyappam, full South Indian meals, Rasam rice and perhaps most amazing of all - Keralas Pal ada Pradhaman which is kheer with rice flakes) beckons on some other day, perhaps soon!
Good one for south dishes. 👌
I ordered masala dosa and it was yumm 😄
This is one of the authentic South Indian Restaurants in Pune. It has very good taste and service is also awesome. Try out Lemon Rice. It really tastes good. Prices are also reasonable. Only the taste of sambhar should improve a bit. Even filter coffee tastes good. Overall a very decent place to dine and have your meals.
Would have rated 3.5 instead of 3 if the half rating option was available.Overall I feel a hyped place when it comes to the taste. Have tasted good south indian options across and heard the food here was comparable to the best. But sadly it was not. The way food is served is not upto the mark. Rava masala dosa literally came in crippled... Medu Wada was entirely different in taste with loads peppercorns hitting all the way. Podi mini idli was only the best amongst rest all. That too they way they serve it is bad...Ambience : 3 out of 5Service : 4 out of 5Taste : 3.5 out of 5Price : 3 out of 5Overall did not find it much worth when it comes to price and taste comparison.
IDDOSPune is a foodie hub. And there are many choices in Pune if you are craving for South Indian food. Iddos definitely serves the authentic south Indian food as it claims. Taste of Chennai are hitting many hearts in Pune at Iddos. With its location at Paud Road, the place attracts many families and friends alike. Although having south Indian food as specialty, one must have filter coffee here. When you enter into the Iddos, the strong smell of coffee just wakes up your caffeine craving cells and they will be delighted for sure. The place serves different types of Idlis, Dosas and mind-blowing different types of chutneys such that they retain their customers! Nice ambience, good service and tasty food is what guaranteed when you come here.
I visited today morning , they have a crazy wall paint which describes the whole Chennai. They have the variety of south Indian dishes with tea and coffee. They have snacks as well as lunch/dinner meal options purely south Indian style. In Pune its very difficult to find a good south Indian restaurant which have pure south Indian style Samber and chutney. This is the best place you can have all you can eat in South Indian style but remember purely vegetarian. We ordered podi masala dosa, medu wada and keerai wada(mix of dal and spinach). The size of wada is good and the taste as well. Podi masala dosa which is also very crispy and tasty. The one negative point is this restaurant is bit costly but overall if taken all points in consideration ,this is the best option for a good south Indian breakfast/lunch/dinner.
If you want to try typical authentic south India food then this is the best place. They have variety of cuisine, you can try all of it.The best part of this place is they serve you with three different types of chatni viz. Red , green and coconut along with delicious sambar. They have different types of rice for each day, one must try it.Food is awesome.Ambiance is Good.Service is good.Rates are high.Overall it is the best place to fulfill your south indian cravings
Visited Iddos for breakfast. Average place for south Indian food in Kothrud, but not the best. The taste is average and it misses out bringing the flavours of south. The medu vada sambar was just ok. The vada was not crispy and immediately gave a feeling of being kept in steamer to maintain the hotness of it. Thathu idli was stale, not even hot or fluffy. The yellow chutney lacked in taste and was more of a bland mixture of ingredients. The filter coffee was too sweet and not at all strong. This place can be avoided if possible
The quality has degraded, maybe previous chefs are absent but man the hair embedded in todays ghee dosa was when I felt the limit crossed.
This will alway be my go to place to have podi mini idli and curd rice n coffee. It’s just yum. 😍Yummy in the tummy. 😋😇
If you know the taste of South, you gonna love it... Coffee lovers, this is your poison...Location and ambiance: 3/5Coffee and rassam: 4.5/5Mains: 4/5Service: 3/5What to try: filter coffee (must try), rassam, cheese Mysore masala dosa, idli vada sambar, dahi vada, iddyappamLocation and ambiance:Fabulously located on paud road, this place is near Mit college and easily accessible . The interior sitting is great. The outdoor sitting is okay and not so good. The fans sprinkling mist doesnt make you feel hot.Coffee and rassam:Now if you are a hard core coffee fan you know that there are very less places in Pune which serve good filter coffee. This is one of those places. Highly recommended. the rassam here is good. Not comparable to what you get in the south but way near the markMains:On various occasions Ive tried various things here. Mysore dosas are highly recommended. The vada idli sambar is a must try. Dont expect to have chutneys and sambar as you get in normal snacks shops with a lot of spices. The taste is more closer to the authentic south and not modified much. So if you love the taste of the south this is the places to be .Service:The service is a little slow here. How ever the people are calm and helpful.Final verdict:Go try this place. Coffee lovers will know that this place has the one of the best filter coffees In town
Lost its sheen... Sad
I had ordered medu vada and batata Vada...the size is so small, not worth for money being charged and taste is also not good....better order from another restaurants....
Had ordered onion uttapam and semolina (rava)dosa. The uttapam and dosa were burnt to black ,sambar and chutneys were tasteless. Not to forget they used some low quality oil (which had a pungent smell) and no matter how many times you wash hands with soap, the odour was still prevalent.Wasted money
As heard from people the 4 feet long dosa is quite amusing and tasty, plus the chutneys they serve you along with the dosa just completes the dish, idli-vada does not meet the authentic taste, and the pongal is also worth a shot. The staff is quite friendly and the service is good. It is a bit costly as well.
Podi idli is really nice
Its one of the authentic south indian restaurant, where you can get the various south indian specialities other than normal menu.the kirai wada, pongal, iddyappam, are some of the specialities you should try here.the 3 types of chatnis are also must try.last but not lest the filter coffee.fast service, helpful staff and clean and very delightful ambience. Overall you can have authentic south indian experience with banana leaf here
Best south Indian speciality dishes
We ordered sambar rice, appam-stew, paneeyaram and kerala porotta. Sambar rice was not as expected But appam and porotta was delicious. Also paneeyaram was hot and tasty . But was disappointed for extra payment for pappadam, pickle and curd. South Indian restaurants usually dont do this. And we got vermicelli payasam when Ordered palada pradhaman. And sadly Plain rice was not available. Happiness was they served in banana leaf.
Nice place, good ambience. Tried ghee masala dosa, kal dosa and ghee podi dosa. All were delicious. Ghee dosa was a bit too crispy but yummy. Ghee podi dosa was perfect. Kal dosa was plain and thick but I think thats how its supposed to be. They keep coconut chutney, pudina chutney and onion+tomato chutney in tables and sambar is served with dosa or idli. And Yes their filter coffee is amazing.
Single word for the food taste Janat. 5.9 star for the south indian meal
Gone low on quality. Idli and chutni was not soft and had sour taste. They blamed it on wet weather!!Edit - Visited again and disappointed again. Over priced and low on portion size. Avoid. Least they could do is not charge extra for sambar!Dirty toilet and its locked!
Lovely delicious variety of South Indian snacks. One must try their Podi Thosai and Cappi (coffee)
Just ok food, attempt of south Indian, normal idli served as rava idli, when asked told this is how they make it in Andhra, pressing harder they realised that there was something wrong, and was ready do serve different rava idli. Photo attached
Very expensive , not only south India but chaat also sucks. I have no clue how students can afford this.
Im eat 4ft dosa its good and price friendly place but same test you get anywhere
This place serves authentic south indian food , They have varities of south indian dishes and the taste is good too , Ambience is pretty average , it is open space and the service is quite good too
Iddos is a South-Indian food joint in Kothrud. I’ve visited this place 2-3 times and was never disappointed.Service is not bad and quick. They serve authentic and typical Tamilian food which is finger-licking good. The crunchy dosas, the fluffy appams and vadas are completely delicious. The three chutneys and sambar that is served adds the tangy flavour to the taste. My most favourite dish here is Iddos special dosa. It’s a cut dosa with spiced onions, tomatoes, cheese and mixture of various other masalas.Authentic South Indian filter coffee is served which can be a perfect end to an highly sumptuous brunch.
Weekend food travellingIddosBest place to visit in rain,to eat ven-PongalAnd podi idli😋•ven-pongal it tastes amazing untill its hot😍😋(5/5)•podi-idli,its was nt toasted well means it was well but taste was amaz(3/5)•coffee of iddos is amazing and perfect for me alwys fav coffee u can say😋(5/5)•Note :always ask them to serve hot sambar bcz its nt that hot which we deserve😬Happy fooding
If youre looking for an amazing South Indian breakfast with a strong filter coffee... This is the correct place!
Masala dosa not at all up to the mark. on telling the manager he got angry and offensive. Food is priced quite high for the quality. they do not even give more chutney for free, it costs 20rs more.
Great South Indian food. Loved their Sambhar. Masala Dosa was crispy and spices in potato are good. Onion Uttapam was also good. I didnt like much Dahi Vada. It was ok.
Filter coffee is litMysoore masala dosa is also nice
Very high food prices, no correlation between price and quality. Water served in very unhygienic glasses and jug. Dont know when it was washed?
Authentic South Indian cuisines. Friendly staff. Prices a bit higher than similar setups, but still OK.A must visit place if you are in the neighborhood.
Amazing place for south Indian food
Contract person is Changed ,1) Coffee quality is puar2) Pongal Quantity and Quality is not good3) Late service4) Staff is good
Authentic South Indian food. Try the Gunpowder Idli, and filter coffee. The dosa is pretty awesome too.
They serve delicious south indian food , there podi mini idli is highly recomended, but the service is a little slow.
Good foody place which serves Chennai style south Indian as against Karnataka style found in most Shetty enterprises. Taste is good and prices are ok. Multiple options of idli, dosa, appams and rice preparations are available. Have been here a couple of times, and tried pongal and kesari- both of were excellent.
Podi idli, giant set dosa and appams. Best thing about this place is the filter coffee :)
Clean South Indian Restaurant. They serve each dish with 3 chutneys and sambar. The taste could be improved.
Very worst quality food given by restaurant on ZOMATO... Dont try it... Restaurant Management make fool to all punekars by serving duplicate taste of south Indian food..Restaurant has play with health of senior citizens of pune city...
Good food, little pricy. The quality has declined a smidge since the shift in the venue.
Very good place to eat south Indian food.Open kitchen and cleanliness are the good points, very good filter coffee as well.
Only take away available. Awesome south Indian authentic dishes. Should try.
This restaurant serves authntic South Indian food.Taste is good .This is place is little bit pricy.cleanliness is maintained.waiters are friendly.usually crowded.and serving time is 5-10mins.taste was spicy and delicious.I tried masala dosa and podi idli both the items were tasty. And Filter Coffee is also a must try.
Best cold coffee Ive ever had.Worth the money.
