A splendid location with sea view (from behind). We felt great, we were very pleasantly impressed by the atmosphere. The decor is very beautiful. The food was delicious and those who served us were very kind and attentive. We will be back, we highly recommend this restaurant for those who love Indian food.

Great authentic dishes, beautiful view and awesome service

This place is too good for Protaras. We had the veg samosas, saag paneer, king prawn rogan josht, Pilau, and garlic naan. All of the food was delicious and had a real home cooked taste. The prawns were very plump and great value for money After what has been a bit of a wild goose chase after a very good meal in Protaras, were so so glad we found this place. Definitely come to Rajs!

VEGETARIAN and vegan options. For us as vegetarian one of the best if not the best restaurant in Protaras. The people there are nice and the food is lovely. Try the garlic cheese Naan - you wont get dissapoited.

Great meal, fab friendly staff

Genuine, wholesome Indian food. We started with boneless chicken Tikka served on caramelized onions and an order of yellow dhal & fried paratha bread, delicious. (if you want the healthier option go for nan bread cooked in the tandoor). As main we had the prawn curry massala, the classic chicken curry Punjab style with a side of vegetable pilaf. Loved them all. Staff are attentive, friendly & cordial, overall an excellent dinner.

Raj - The Only Indian Restaurant in ProtarasThe staff were at their best from greeting to serving quick & very professional. The manager made sure we were comfortable. But in entire Cyprus this was the only restaurant that didnt serve us with welcome Papadums & green chutney + mango murabba so we had to straight away order some drinks & average Veg Samosas while we were going through the menu. Chicken Tikka Curry was the best followed by Malai Kofta, Butter Chicken, Chicken Curry & Chicken Karahi which were delicious with Naans. Chicken Biryani was not impressive but just okay. Overall we enjoyed the food & service which made us eat twice here on our 3 day stay.

Back home in England we love a take-away curry on a Saturday night and its one of the things we miss most whilst away on holiday, they never taste quite the same. Last year we tried The Raj and we were delighted with the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food, finally we have found a place where the Indian food tastes the same as back home in the UK.I am quite surprised at the mixed reviews, maybe they have a different chef on certain nights but my experience was first class, we didnt have to wait long, the food arrived hot and the taste was spot on.My wife is a vegetarian and the menu choice for her was very good, portion sizes are adequate. We asked to sit by the window at first but the breeze picked up and we soon realised we had asked to sit in the wrong place, we didnt need to ask to be moved, one of the staff spotted we were starting to get uncomfortable and they came over and moved us with a smile.Prices are average, not too expensive and well definitely be trying them again next time we are over in Protaras

A taste of real India (compared to Indian restaurants in Vietnam, Malaysia and India itself), naans, paneer - everything is good. IMO it is the best Indian place on the island, highly recommended.

Generally a nice experience. The chicken was well cooked however the naan bread wasnt nice, was thin and oily, no garlic taste. Rice was a little dry bit still tasted nice. Nice tasting sauce and lovely poppadom starter. Service was fast but some of the waiters made us feel uncomfortable. Was a nice one off.

Visited yesterday Monday 5th August and ended up being a great night. Firstly lovely food full of flavour. Staff members all so friendly and the owner himself was so genuine and attentive. I recommend this place . You will not be disappointed. See you soon

Family run business by Andreas and Carol the service is second to none and the food is amazing. Been coming to the Raj for many years now and the food and service is always fantastic, well worth a visit if you are here with family and friends.You cant beat a good curry 😅

Always go here at the start and the end of our holiday. Enjoy it every time the food is great, staff are excellent. On a breezy hot Cyprus evening theres nowhere in the world Id rather be. Swaying palm trees and a view of the main strip as well as not being rammed in two feet from the next table. What more do you need. Last night tonight so the table is booked yet again.

Just had one of the nicest curry’s here that I have ever tasted. The naan bread was superb, so light and tasty. The service was excellent and would highly recommend this place for somewhere to eat in Protarus.. Wished they were at home so we could visit on a regular basis! Special thanks to Andreas.

Just had an amazing dinner with my girlfriends. Marvelous staff,very helpful and friendly!! Ordered some dishes and one turned out to be not so spicy so they brought as an extra spicy dish! Also offered liqueur at the end on the house!A must if you are a genuine fan of traditional indian cuisine ...Would def visit again!!!

Really good food looks and tastes like the Indian food you would get back in the UK...and importantly the right spice level and not engulfed in lots of oil.I had a chicken jalfrazi plain rice with a nan bread.

Ive had better ready meals. Just for the record I have had meals here for last few years without issue, however this year the meals my partner and I had were poor and feel we would have enjoyed a microwave meal better. The service was good and the staff were the usual nice but the food was not the best. For the price, not the cheapest, the food should have been better.

Outstanding Indian..just like back home..the poppadoms and lime pickle were amazing but the pickle portion was small so be sure to order two👍 Will be visiting again..and I’m a 14 year chef and food snob😂

Simply nothing special. Food was good but not the special Indian flavor I craved so much.We tried plain and garlic naan and both had no taste and same for the two kinds of rice we tried.Would go here only if no other Indian place is open.

Service was very slow, took about 45 mins for 2 chicken kormas despite the restaurant not been busy at all. When the korma arrived it was quite watery, tasteless and was luke warm at best. Tasted like a korma you would buy from a jar in the supermarket. The reason I have give this a 2 and not a 1 is because the rice was nice and the people were friendly and helpful. Finally after we ate we discovered there were no locks on the toilets. Would not recommend unless you enjoy jarred curry from supermarkets.

Decent Indian food, for the mediocre quality it is expensive. However, if you are in need of Indian food, it should be okay to satisfy your cravings. The staff was friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant was cosy. I can imagine on a good day with nice weather, it would be lovely to sit outside.

Hey Im sorry to say I found this place very boring the over riding taste was not of curry but some hot pepper and was heavily flavoured with cardamom I was very disappointed as I was really looking forward to a good curry but didnt get one.

Only giving a 3 based on the lack of spice in the food. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the service good and prices very reasonable however for an Indian the food really lacked that spicy kick which is why we would normally go to an Indian so a little disappointing there.

Good food, friendly service. Went there twice for dinner - the curries are flavourful, the service fast and very helpful. The Peshwari naan was a dream. We would go back and do definatelly recommend that place.

Well what can I say been to this so called Indian spot enough said about that starters where out within ten mins of sitting down .main course was suppose to be chicken Karahi was just a chicken Korma with a little added spice could taste coconut . Good service thats all sorry folks

The service was very fast and very welcoming as we entered the restaurant! The starters in the restaurant were very nice. We had, for starters, onion bhajis and chicken tikka starter. Very tasty. Then we got the medium spice chicken tikka for mains and I had the chefs special curry! It was another chicken tikka in a lovely curry sauce. Best chefs special I have ever had at an Indian! Then I had just enough room for dessert, which I had a caramel crucnch which I had all to my self. Very nice! It also came to a reasonable price as we ordered three sets of drinks and only came to about £50!

Excellent, fast service as well as very helpful staff and owner. Beautiful location. Very friendly and intimate environment and very tasty food with many options even for vegans. I highly recommend it. I never felt in another store so intimate we made direct company with all the staff and the owner, they devoted their time with joy. We will definitely go again!
