Awesome silent close to nature

Much has changed in Prantik Township since I wrote my previous post three years ago. The township now has a high boundary wall surrounding it with only three exit ways. This has vastly improved the security of the township. Additionally, a police camp exists in the township since long.All roads have had new coats of tar only recently (2021) and, additionally, two main thoroughfares connecting the township to Santiniketan on one side and Bolpur on the other have been widened with wide pavements added. The jewel of the township is now the converted Childrens Park that sports a well lit up walkway and an illuminated fountain.New houses are being built on resold plots and the township looks more inhabited than before. Recently the inhabitants have noticed announcements saying that Prantik Township is now a part of Bolpur Municipality.Old residents of the township are expecting that with the inclusion of the previously self-governed area in the municipality, infrastructure such as water supply, and storm water drainge will be strengthened. They also expect that the Township will one day get underground sewerage making septic tanks redundant.Shopping and health services still remain problem areas. However, with relaxation of restrictions on use of space, such services will grow.The residents of Prantik Township hope that given its locational advantages such as proximity to a railway station and trunk routes the Township will become a much coveted residential area of Bolpur-Santiniketan in days to come.

Its a happening place, land of red soil, essence of Tegore. Best visit at winter.

Nice place to be

Prantik is the Satellite town to Bolpur Shantiniketan.Pollution free green area.But, the main prblem is with security.There is no PS & thieves are desperately active.

When i first landed on Prantik station, i thought the area is covered by some jhop jharis & the house will be made of mud. But when i saw the first house then one by one i got amazed the place is covered with bangalow.The disadvantage is that there is no stationary shop nearby, street lamps not there and the Totos charge more than ola & uber does in Kolkata
