Good service but the portion size is small specifically the grilled salmon. The chicken with the cheese was good.

Oriental Spoon is my go to Asian eatery in Port Macquarie. Why do I say that? Because not only is it Korean cuisine, but you can also get Japanese dishes there too, like Sushi and Ramen (note, none of the Japanese Restaurants in Port Macquarie do Ramen... and its the Japanese staple)Service is great... it is often done by a young asian girl who remembers everything and doesnt write it down.. typically a skill only seen in prestige resturants.Prices are fair and the quality is great. I recommend this hidden gem to everyone.

Fantastic blend of Japanese and Korean food. Really good service. Food came out super fast. The best thing was the Chef coming out to greet the table and help clear plates - good sign of any restaurant. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and wonderful, friendly service

Enjoyed our meal. Staff was efficient. If you know really good dumplings these ones are ok but not great. The Korean dishes were amazing. Only issue was one hair in a clean bowl and one hair in a meal - we noticed kitchen staff had no hair nets which explains it. If in Port again and craving Korean we would go again.

Food is reasonably. Just that - no more.Floors a sticky..indicating neglect and lack of attention to cleanliness.Pretty expensive too for what you get.

Not the typical hype korean food you always see on social media.but a place of genuine korean home cook meal. from the stone pot kimchi jiggae to a bowl of bibimbap or just a simple jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir fried pork) on top of steaming rice and also the simple but yet tasty bulgogi.and also the best food and drink combo after a tiring day, (chi-maeg) fried chicken and beer.

김치지깨 kimchi jiggae was so good, best one Ive had in a long while! Really nice staff too!

Great front of house staff.... back of house not so much ...sushi can do better... much better other joints in port I reckon... Mains bit expensive and a little unappealing in terms of range.... unattractive on the whole but good flavour just 3 star

Ordered spicy chicken ramen (noodles wasnt the usual ramen noodle, broth is a 6 out of 10 and for a spicy ramen, wouldve been better if they used korean pepper paste rather than fresh chili) for 20bucks its not worth it. Just dont have much choice in Port.Chicken teriyaki (lacks flavour and looked like just a piece of thigh fillet without a rice) feels a bit overpriced for 20bucks.Pricing a bit too steep vs portion and flavour wise.

The food was mediocre and the price for the food was also mediocre. That’s all to sum it up.The food quality was meh, greasy, small portions and look like they were all frozen. When we asked the staff to ask to take away something in one dish, they couldn’t as it was already part of the dish, reinstating that it’s probably frozen made and it’s fried.The place was the busiest it will ever get, as we had dinner there at Christmas, and no other shops would be open. 10% surcharge if you go there on a public holiday just noting.The water filling jug was also questionable. The nozzle was dirty (filled with brown mess). They could have easily wiped this, as it came easily off).This place just doesn’t feel traditional Korean and feels off.

Great food, best in town !!

The meals there are unique and the delicious tastes just lingers in your mouth. Ill be going back weekly if I can be accompanied.

Although the dumplings were good, the place overall offers very low value for the price being paid.The Korean fried chicken didnt taste Korean at all and there was nothing authentic about it. Its just fried chicken pieces in flour and it turned out very greasy. Money would have been better spent at KFC because it wasnt that different.

Food was nice but nothing to rave about. Unfortunately my bad experience was not the food but the customer service. It was appalling!When I made the booking I was told BYO and licensed, however upon arrival we were told no BYO, when I explained I asked at booking I was told this time only they would allow it but there would be a fee per drink opened per person which meant we were looking at around $40 corkage fee.No water brought to table until we requested it 20 mins after being seated.Our drinks were left on the table to go warm and no offer of glasses for our drinks or ice bucket for the wine. It took ages for food to be cleared. They were not busy at all.Toilets in poor condition. Missing taps.They did however remove all but $6 for the corkage after I voiced my disappointment with the situation but overall a very underwhelming experience.

Food was amazing!! All food we ordered looked so good I forgot to take photos of it! Outside the restaurant doesnt look as appealing and the view from inside the restaurant is a view of the hotels pool next door but theres worse things to have looked at really! Great flavours at a very reasonable price, if I lived in the area I would attend regularly 😁

My neighbors Korean and we all went together. Other Korean restaurants give side dishes, but not here, very basic meals small in quantity but very tasty

Good Korean/Japanese place I didnt expect to find in Port Macquarie. Had ramen and Bibimbap, dishes were better than expected. Took egg out of the bibimbap for free despite us forgetting to request it.Would return.

Having eaten lots of Korean food over the past 20 years I was VERY disappointed with the standard of both entree and main. The fresh seaweed is a delicious part of many different dishes in Korean food. What I got was the same as the dried packet stuff you can buy at the supermarket (which is generally eaten as a snack). And my entree and main course came out together! It lacked in traditional sense also as normally there is a number of small complimentary dishes served before you receive entree etc, of which, fresh seaweed is generally one of those as is kimchi! To their credit when I complained to the manager, she didnt charge me for the entree.

After many hours on the road trip we chose this stop for dinner as it was COVID sit down friendly and had high star reviews.Disappointingly, one waitress was run off her feet and after $30+ per head we left hungry still. The Bibimbap was basically a bowl of white rice with 2 slithers of salmon and some lettuce leaves and 1cm of grated carrot. No love given...

Great menu and helpful staff

A pleasant place to eat apart from the bloody flies.We had Japanese bento and it was excellent.As a visitor to Port Macquarie from Forster NSW, I cannot wait to go back and try more of the cuisine.We must point of that we had lunchtime specials and it was value for money.Recomended for lunch for sure!

The lunch time Bento boxes are great value and are well worth the visit. Its a lunch favourite. The rest of the menu is less spicy than you would normally expect from Korean food, but it is the only Korean restaurant for a couple of hundred kilometres so you cant be too fussy.

The pigeons were having a great time in the pool behind the restaurant. Love a good dinner and a show. 10/10 would come again to watch the birds dunk themselves.

Great service, price and food. Inside is lovely.

Waited 30 mins for a takeaway and got something that was clearly prepared earlier. Salmon was dry on the outside. Yes its covid etc. But remember while youre trying to keep your business going Spooners, - we are treating ourselves to the things we have missed like good cuisine. Some items were fresh but some werent great like the dried up slice of lemon which they gave back to me after I took the meal back. Classic. Dont recommend the takeaway option on the Sushi Ozzie. Overpriced for average quality. Im from out of town so maybe Im just picky. Better going to Coles for make-your-own sashimi though I would say.

Fabulous! Great quality food and good value. Really enjoyed this. If you want to have tasty food and not pay the earth then this is your place. If the serving staff had made an effort to be friendly this would be a 5 star

This message is for the international students who are desperately looking for a job in Port Macquarie. Never ever go to this restaurant for a work even when they call you. They just take advantage and make us work without a pay which is ridiculously unprofessional. I am not only the victim here, there are many more students who experienced the same problem (first they will ask you to drop your resume and then call you for a work trial even they are not actually looking for any workers which they will definitely inform you at the end of your trial). Yeah I know I said “WHAT! Then why the hell did you call me?”

The food looks and tastes so good and the waiters are very helpful and polite. The entry does not look very appealing but the food is what I go there for.

The food was not very Korean tasting. The staff are all Koreans so not sure the reason the food didnt taste right.

Great food, great service

I had a delicious dinner here on 9 December 2019 when travelling for work. The staff were friendly and service was quick. I came with a big appetite, and had the veggie roll with a bunch of sides (seaweed salad, kimchi, tofu salad and edamame) and green tea. All delish. Thanks.

Staying one night in the town and had dinner here. It was okay. Taste not bad and service was okay. Food came out fast too. Over priced for the meal size we got.

Amazing food!!

The lunch special (bibimbap) is good for $10 and is fast. The actual dish changes though Im guessing depending on the chef. E.g. its always previously come with a raw egg but not yesterday. I did ask our waitress but there may have been an language barrier. Food is very good and staff very polite though.

Food comes out super fast and everything my friend and I tried was delicious. Highly recommend the kimchi pancake. Came on a Wednesday night and wasn’t very busy so no problem getting a table. Good prices too.

Food was great at an ok price. However one of the staff ruined the experience for me because she was very rude.

Absolutely incredible food and outstanding service. We ordered a bowl of bibimbap, and didnt finish so they packed it for takeaway. We forgot the take hoke bag so we rushed down to the restaurant 30 minutes later, after closing time. They said they had chucked away our takeaway but they made us a new one all for free

Delicious, well priced and lovely staff. It was super busy and we didnt have to wait too long for our meals. Only negative is that the portions of rice are too small. Would definitely recommend.

Second time there, both visits have been great.We had Bulgolgi Bento and Pork Bibimbap, nice and fresh, sashimi in the Bento melted in the mouth.Previous visit was a group of 15, everyone enjoyed their meal. A few of us shared Kimchi stew, Spicy Pork and Cheesy Buldak, all were delicious and very reasonably priced.Well worth a visit.

Loved it! Opted for the tofu terriyaki with a side of sweet potato noodles and loved how they turned it into a meal, soooo delicious! And such friendly service!

Very ordinary service, setting and food. Wasnt expecting a lot, but it was below that even.Not busy, approx 30 people across 5 tables. The first round of drinks was very difficult to order as they were out of stock of most choices including Green Tea, Coke, Various Beers (SERIOUSLY).Took two hours for entrees and mains and the bill presented to our table was incorrect.Food left bad taste in mouth.Wouldnt dine there again and definitely wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Close to the heart of town, but a bit weird having the adjacent motel swimming pool view from the windows on one side and the road the other. not great watching the old overweight Walrus type men swimming in their variety of swimwear could put you off dinner. The food is OK but the back ground music, not even interesting Korean or Asian music, was too loud for conversation. This is our 2nd and last time to visit this restaurant.

Bad experience! The waitress seemed in a low mood. The food was so so. A 17$ Tempera only has 3 pieces of shrimp and 4 pieces of vegetables. I had a bowel of Bibimbap and felt the portion was pretty small...

Oriental Spoon is a delightful lunchtime treat.We are always greeted warmly and the very efficient Service is second to none,the meals are aspretty as a picture, fresh and clean and authentically Korean.Do yourself afavour and top it all off with a wonderful array of desserts.

Amazing food, dont be afraid to try the agedashi tofu.
