Nice museum with lot of historical facts about Andaman island. You can just spend 20-30 mins max here, small museum only. There is a small souvenir shop inside the museum, you can buy something memorable (for travellers).

You also get a audio device in which you hear all the information about them. There are different halls for different type of informations. Shells, Corals , fishes are the best part of this museum. You have to visit once this place if you are visiting Andaman.

Beautiful experience. They had various sections each for fishes, corals, life of tribes. Some of the species you would never see except the museum. You will learn about early life of the andamanese and nicobari people. Interesting facts. You can visit the museum till 4.30 p.m.. it also has wheelchair facility. Worth the amount spent (Rs.50/-)

Nice and small place to visit , you just have to spare 30mins to 1hr to cover this place. Place is neat and clean with clean lavoratorie and being maintained by Indian Navy. Can see lots of marine life species especially coral, sankha etc., To be honest not much great species of living fishes. Ticket price is Rs. 50/- per adult and tickets are issued only till 3:45 pm, so plan accordingly.

Sweeet and small museum maintained by Indian Navy for general public n tourists .tickets are fir 50 rupees per head . Due to covid only 6 persons are allowed in each hall at a time but we Indians are not going to read and follow the instructions so you may find more . One shop is also there incase you want to take some souvenirs back home .

Samudrika Marine Museum in Port Blair, managed by the Indian Navy, is also known as Naval Marine Museum.This museum is a perfect place to know about the various aspects of marine ecology. The five galleries found here are divided based on the history of Andaman Island, geographical information, tribal communities, archeology and marine life.The main attraction of the museum is the large skeleton display of a blue whale. Its a small but higely informative gallery cum museum run by Indian Navy. Its also known as fisheries museum. It houses. It shows us the vibrant ecosystem of the island, its Flora and fauna, tribal communities and marine life. It gives us a brief introduction to the layout of the entire Andaman islands, its tribal habitats. It shows us where each tribal community is settled.It also houses the skeleton of a huge blue whale that was washed ashore. The museum has a vast collection of corals and shells of different sizes shapes and color. It also has a small gift shop where you can buy figurines of Jarawa tribe.

This is one of the main place you have to visit in Andaman and nicobar island. It is in the Main area of Port Blair. Autos are frequently available in Port Blair to visit this place. The entry ticket for this places rupees 50. You can watch all the things like marine museum and traditional museum. The most important thing is you can learn about tribals. Few corals presented here are worth visiting. They are huge sea shells which you wont be able to see anywhere this easily. There is a small aquarium where you see a variety of fishes. But as I mentioned, it is a small aquarium. It is not worth the watch. But you can visit the museum if you have time on your hand and want to get a flavor of Andaman Islands. There is also a sitting place where videos of different islands are shown.

The museum is a must visit place when you come to Port Blair. It provides you a deep insight of the flora and fauna of the place. It also gives us an insight of the culture of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It provides information of the different tribes living in the Nicobar and their way of living as well. Awesome collection of fishes, corals, shells and great description of the tribes that existed in and around the island. Typically it takes 1-1.5 hrs to explore every thing here. Also there are various selfi points created to take memorable pictures.One of the nice things is that they actually built a nicobari hut in the premises to give a feel of the shape and the size.

Good place to know more about Andaman islands. Very good collection of fishes, shells, corals. This place also shows little bit history of Andaman. Entry fee is ₹50 and the place is worth every penny you pay. There is a shop where you can buy stuff like shells and things created using shells n all but it is very expensive.

If I ever have a chance of visiting andaman again will visit this museum for sure. The aquarium section here is my favorite. While you enter this museum you can see a whale skeleton. The first room shows the facts like volcanoes, tribes, different types of woods, insects etc.. The second room is displaying the reverberating under water beauties through an aquarium.. Coral Reefs have an entire room that is the third room.. Seashells in abundance are persevered in the fourth room and you will be surprised to the tremendous collection.. Last but not the least is the fifth room that is dedicated to the tribes of Andaman, the butterflies’ and the insects’ specimens as well..On the outside you will also come across a skeleton of a blue whale that was washed ashore on the Nicobars.. There is a small aquarium at this attraction that interests kids and adults alike.. There is selfie point in the entrance and a shop at the end which sells the shell and other souvenirs.. It was such a mind blowing experience visiting the museum..

Good measuem to visit. Chatham jetty, Saw mills and Samudrika Museum are on same road. So, first visit jetty than walk 200 mt visit saw mills and last visit Samudrika museum. Many city buses are playing on this road towards medical College , airport area , city centre as well as towards Chatham jetty.

Really nice place for a quick visit, if you are quite interested in understanding the a Andamans history there culture and regarding the natural beauty it possesses. You will find really big blue whale Skelton to start with later to that they have separate rooms with different titles like corels, aquarium etc.In the end they have a shop to buy some beautiful artifacts.I reduced one star for the cost paid and worth as its for a very quick visit.Bit of more maintainance to the place and introducing more of new stuff can give the place real significance.Added some clicks i liked over there.

A very nice and small museum providing a quick overview of Andman and Nicobar island chains. There are gallery rooms on overall geography, one on corals, one on sea shells another on marine life with aquarium hosting some typical species and tableaux on tribal populations, particular before they were wiped out by colonial occupation devastated them.Overall a nice and valuable spot in port Blair to visit.

The museum is worth 5 star deservedI gave three stars because the shopkeeper of the souvenir shop is a cheater, I have bought gifts for my friends from here but after arriving home, I have found that the quantity is not remaining the same whereas they have packed those items and sealed with stapler.
