The place is located right besides the cellular jail. You are not missing out on much if you dont visit the place. It mostly contains bottled specimens of different varieties of fish. I would recommend you visit the Samudrika museum instead.Visited in October.

Marine aquarium is located near to the Aberdeen jetty at a Walkable distance. Tickets @ 10 per person. You may have to pay extra money to take photos thru phone camera or a digital camera. In front of the aquarium, there is askeleton of sperm whale. Inside you can see a great varieties of corals that you see and probably identify if you have done scuba diving at andaman. There are also different kind of fish (live and preserved) ones kept as exhibits. Overall a good place to take some photos and a quick stop worth exploring. Recommended

We visited Aquarium (Port Blair) at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar few years back. Even now its a fresh, bright and healthy in appearance. We were stunted to see few live marine fishes. Here there are varieties of collection of corals. Outside the aquarium theres an external frame work of bone of a whale. The marine lives have been displayed in a pleasant and remarkable style or manner. The collection of beautiful corals are inspiring awe.

The Aquarium at Port Blair is worth seeing for its great collection of corals. They are so beautiful and gorgeous. Also they are very well displayed. But then when visitors are told that they cannot take photographs, it is a very big let down. Nevertheless it is worthwhile to spend a few hours and become knowledgeable about the sea life and corals.

Though not big & cannot be compared to city/foreign aquariums, the place is informative & maintained well. Kids will enjoy the place. Thereโ€™s a park nearby too, just behind the aquarium & hence the place acts as both a science centre & an entertainment centre.

This place will definitely disappoint you in case you have visited samudrika, the fishes and species kept in this place are in the Laboratories jars and there is this distinct smell of the same. One can easily skip this place if you are not part of the tour package. Nothing much, but do visit only if you have time to while away. Photography is allowed on extra payment. if this review has helped you in any way pl encourage by hitting that like button

I wonโ€™t say itโ€™s a must visit if youโ€™re going to A&N islands. But if you have spare time you can check out this aquatic museum, as you wont find such variety anywhere else in there. Itd be better if they make this air-conditioned as its difficult to explore for more than 5 minutes due to poor ventilation.

Fisheries Departments Aquarium is located by the side of Water Sports Complex and closed on Wednesday. The daily lunch time is from 1300 hrs to 1400 hrs. Museum has decent specimens of dead marine funa. However, its live aquarium part is badly managed with sub-optimal collection of live marine fishes. Infact, the aquarium part of Samudrika Naval Museum is far superior then this place. Theres a small souvenir shop run by a local self help group at its main Entrance Door; where one can find various gift items made of sea shells. This outlet is one of the cheapest selling joint of such product in Port Blair. Infact, cost of similar items are cheaper here than Government controlled Sagarika Selling Outlet. Ofcourse, to get the optimum price one has to use his/her Bargaining skill upto the hilt. Overall, it is worth spending half hour at this Aquarium of Department of Fisheries.
