Great food and atmosphere. The waiter was very knowledgeable with the menu and talked about all the dishes passionately. We went with what was available on the day and they came out great, very fresh and very well cooked.

Favourite fish restaurant! Whether Poole or Brixham, cant beat the food! Awesome waiter, very knowledgeable and super lovely waitress. Definitely worth a trip, and we will be back!

Lovely atmosphere and decor, very friendly staff and really helped us choose dishes we love sea food but never been here before. You can tell the freshness and flavours really shine through. Cuttlefish was so tender and scallops sweet! Lovely

At last we got around to trying this restaurant. We entered from the lively Poole Quay waterfront. We were immediately greeted by a super friendly and highly professional maitre D. Our dog was made a fuss of and welcomed inside to our table. Without any wait a nice, friendly waiter attended to us and we ordered cider and a glass of champagne. You also get as much sparkling water as you want. We were amazed to read that Rockfish has its own fishing boat. The waiter informs you which fish isnt available and circles each one on your paper menu.We both had Sea Bream in a lime and butter sauce. I was disappointed that the accompaniment is either chips or salad. I wanted new potatoes. The chips are refillable free of charge. My salad was excellent. The Sea Bream was succulent. Our dog sat happily beneath our table. Take a trip to the w.c. and you will love the old fashioned maritime voiceover.We were glad we tried it and highly recommend.

Dining at Rockfish was a great experience. The food was delightfully tasty, especially the halloumi, but it is the service that really sets this place apart as the staff are attentive, friendly and welcoming. Despite the restaurant being busy and full, we had to wait hardly any time for any of our courses so the establishment is clearly run efficiently also. I look forward to returning for more crab!

Visited this place tonight with a couple of pals. Absolutely flawless service - they were able to find space for us at short notice, even after the originally agreed time (we were stuck on a ferry!). Portions were great, food was delicious and delivered in record time. I recommend the oysters as a starter and the crab as a main. Plum and red berry cheesecake wasnt half bad either! Highly recommend.

The best place to go for an authentic and second to none seafood experience. Generally, an excellent experience. The fish and seafood we had was amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful.Would definitely return but the price (and locations!) restricts it from being a regular thing.

The staff tried to do whatever they could to help m us meet our dietary requirements (halal) but this restricted many things in the menu. Had the lobster, prawns and wasnt particularly impressed. Had nicer lobster in the past. Hefty bill, so wouldnt return if in the area unfortunately. Would have even settled for normal fish and chips but unfortunately they were frued in same oil as chicken, so couldnt.

Not the cheapest fish and chips, but if you are looking for exceedingly fresh options this is excellent. I was in a small group and had an enormous, tasty and buttery Dover Sole with a small (initial) side of chips with potentially unlimited refills. I could have had salad which was reportedly very good too. I was driving, so couldnt sample the reportedly good wine and beer list, beyond the low alcohol option. The busy Friday night table service was very attentive. The ambiance is more warehouse than intimate, so better for groups than couples. The toilets are clean and worth visiting just to hear the piped shipping forecast.

Amazing Seafood!!! Definitely we needed to go back. Staff are lovely. We just went to see the menu, then find out if there was a table and then the manager managed to offer us a table for a short time and it was enough to toast our 12th wedding anniversary. Great seafood restaurant just in front of the sea. They have daily fresh fish / seafood each day and also some good options for kids. The staff is helpful and nice. Definitely worth a visit while youre in Poole.

We were made to feel very welcome. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly and the service was well timed. Food was really fresh and tasty & so lovely to have so many gluten free options. It was nice that more chips were offered part way through our meal so we didnt have to ask for them. Lovely treat and would visit again.

Had a fantastic experience. Cant really think of anything Rockfish could do to improve other than having more restaurants closer to where I live. Highly recommend the lobster, the oysters and any fresh caught fish you havent tried before.

Possibly the best fish restaurant Ive been to. Great fresh food including the kids menu. We tried scallops, lemon sole, crab, fried chicken and homemade chips. All delicious. My son got a brilliant gift bag with his meal which kept him entertained. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely evening yesterday at Rockfish Poole. It was our first visit and certainly will not be our last. The staff were welcoming friendly and v attentive. The fish was amazing. Thank you Rockfish.

Rockfish is a nice well located seafood restaurant with a nice sea view. The tables outside are not available for booking, so first to come first to serve. Even tho the website was fully booked we were lucky enough to get a table inside.Since the table was booked the service advice us that we only had one hour to eat. We had a dover sole, calamari steak, scallops, anchovies mayonnaise on sourdough - everything pretty alright. I strongly recommend to bring cash with you since we had some issues with the card payments. The service asked to wait 20 minutes but ended up to be 1 hour. That made us wait one hour after we finished to eat. A bit of annoying considering none of the service really helped before to solve the thing with a simple bank transfer. Cash ready next time!

Went there on Saturday. It was our first time in going there so myself and my partner didnt know what to expect. Firstly they very kindly fitted us in as they were bursting at the seems that day. First impressions were very good. Great position, very clean. Very friendly staff throughout. Our waiter then came over and at this point I really must praise the young man yo what he deserves, rather than most restaurants you just have a menu slapped infront of you this was very different, he took the time to talk us through all their main dishes explaining them clearly and in an enthusiastic manor which was fantastic. He then bought out our food which was superbly presented and tasted amazing. Prices were sensible for such fresh cooked food. We will 100% be going back there again and would definitely recommend it to anyone that loves their fish restaurants. Great job team!. 👏

Good food and taste very nice, but the quantity is not enough for the price, the monkfish for example, 2 small pieces by £26.50, I found it expensive. In the other hand, the crab was totally prepared on the head, so you dont need to broke the clamps to get the meat, its already don for you.The service, at least the day I went, was not very fast and forgot a few things we ask for. Everyone has a bad day. No complain.

My family and I had a 3 course lunch here on 16th July 2021. The place has a lively, but easy going atmosphere, the food is excellent, as is the assistance and information we received from our server, Curtis. Its not exactly cheap, but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for, so its 5 stars from me. I definitely recommend Rockfish for a family treat.

First visit, previously a pottery factorys sales shop, so large space with open kitchen to the rear, also outside seating, roadside on quay. Booked for mid-week evening, quite hectic as a large family/friends group (c.12?) just finishing was like trying to herd cats, quite amusing, got sorted.Our waitress very personable, explained process eg the market catch from their Brixham trawler, orders placed & just short wait for starter, then our mains, all worked well.We each enjoyed our well presented and tasty dishes, will certainly return when next in area.

Over priced, starter calamari was bad, batter was not crispy and light it was flour and the larger bits were raw. Mussels as a main had that funny smell to them so guess that they were slightly off as you should get a nice clean taste of the sea not a strong smell and taste you get when there on the turn.The Crab.... Its just a dressed crab in a shell very over priced, do something different with it, its always served cold and boring.Go to Rick Steins its better for the money. We paid £153 for 5 people at Rockfish and I believe we could of got better food for around the same price at Rick Stein.Sorry Rockfish but you need to do something different.The fish dishes all down the left part of the menu were okay but yes simple to cook so cant get that wrong (I had Gurnard cooked well) but served with chips?? New potatoes please.Sorry but we wont be here again.

Lovely place to go to my husband & I took a chance to go on a very busy day in Poole as the food festival was on we were made welcome straight away, the staff were very busy but also spot on with the service was so nice to see, the food was absolutely amazing we will be back, and recommend to our family & friends.

I would give 20 stars if I could. On arrival after booking we were directed to our table by a really nice lady at the entrance, we got explained how the restaurant works and got a really nice welcome. We were looked after by Katie, she was lovely, couldnt ask for a better service. She explained to us the menu and also a few recommendations. The food is AMAZING! Im a Spanish girl, so my standard for fresh seafood is quite high, this definitely exceeded my expectations. Will definitely come back!!

Superb meal. Not an extensive variety of fish available, but enough choice for us and very expertly cooked. We were given the private dining room which was a real treat. Best of all was our waitress, Java, who was absolutely crazy but wonderful and really made our evening.

Visited with family having previously been to the one in Dartmouth a couple of years ago. Ordered 4 cod and chips with mushy peas. My portion of cod was of a reasonable size but definitely not as thick as we had in Dartmouth. My wifes and my brother in laws portions were smaller and my sisters was even smaller. Eating there isnt cheap and should have consisted of a decent portion size. Im not sure as a result that I would eat there again. Sorry guys, but you need to do better.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, staff were all friendly and helpful plus its pretty well presented. My only fault this evening was it was uncomfortably cold in there with the door wide open allowing the wind to blow through, other than this it would have been 5 stars from me.

What a gem, delicious food, beautifully cooked and friendly staff, the only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is because the fish that we really wanted wasn’t available, No brill, turbot, lemon sole and no tempura prawns. I had ray wing and the other half had Dover sole. We appreciate it’s only what has been caught and it’s available on the day but that was a bit disappointing as we’d seen the menu at lunchtime and had planned what we wanted for dinner.We would definitely come back and have already recommended it to friends

Excellent restaurant, great food and service. We had the scallops and calamari to start, muscles from the main menu, and the monkfish and turbot from the daily catch menu, and all were absolutely delicious. Well worth a visit if you are in Poole.

We visited Rockfish only a couple of days after they reopened following lockdown. The welcome host was excellent, friendly and informative, letting us know what they are doing to protect staff and customers. Starters were lovely, we had a half pint of shell on prawns and calamari (cuttlefish). For main we had hake and Dover Sole, unfortunately the Dover Sole was undercooked. The cost was taken off our bill along with our bottle of wine and a new perfectly cooked fish brought to the table, albeit a little while after my wife had finished her meal. We will be returning to Rockfish, despite the slight hiccup, due to the way complaint was handled by our host, who was very professional and apologetic.

Highly recommend. The food was fantastic and clearly very fresh, and the staff were polite and attentive. Well be coming back for sureIf there was one slight criticism it would be they didnt seem to have any draught ipa on when we went, but may have been unlucky.

We had a delightful dinner there. We enjoyed grilled squid with salad and freshly caught hake with chips. Both are superb. The service was very obliging and took care of peoples allergies and dislikes seriously.

Lovely experience for our first time at this Rockfish! Been to 3 now and always great, love the champagne (amethyst) great value for drinks and food aswell as great quality - too good to be true! Met the manager Ben who made sure everything was running smoothly, very upbeat and friendly and the other staff were all on top of everything and with smiles on their faces also - would absolutely visit again.

We booked a table at rockfish for our anniversary. They really looked after us. There was a lovely comment on the menu to welcome us to the meal. The food was delicious, and the portions are very generous. Service was great. We will definitely be back.

We had some delicious fish lunches at this very comfortable and welcoming restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and attentive especially Curtis who made us so welcome in the snuggery section which was perfect, as we had our 1 year old granddaughter with us in a highchair. Disappointed. I ordered the Monkfish, probably the most expensive dish on the menu. It was so overcooked it was a joke. Waste of a good fish and my money. Didnt complain because I was with good company and an interlude would have disturbed their meal. Great fish, but cooked by kids. As a businessman I dont see the point of having a great product only to be screwed up at point of delivery.

We wanted to leave a review after our fantastic evening at Rockfish. The main takeaways for us were: the menu has something for everyone, even those with allergies or those who arent the biggest fans of fish, the atmosphere is wonderful and the service is second to none. Our server, Java, really made us feel looked after, she was perhaps the friendliest waitress weve ever been served by! We left feeling full and really chuffed with our evening out. Thank you Java, and the whole Rockfish Poole team!P.s. some places advertise as gluten-friendly or gluten free but THIS PLACE REALLY IS. Its excellent for any coeliac or gluten sensitive people
