This railway station serves the tamil town of Pillai which lies very close to the border with Kerala state.Although as the name suggests it is a junction it is not a busy station.Very few services are there from this station the most prominent one is Amritha express connecting Madhuram with Trivandrum. The station is well kept and very clean. It has a neat toilet and seating is available for passengers in the platform. But the station does not have any functioning food or snacks shop.So it is advisable to buy your snacks or bottles water from the shops in the main road. Also there is no ATM was seen also
Here some of the staffs worst and not fit to work with front end customer. Not even listening what we i am saying .... Especially PL pre change the staffsPlace wellservice nil
Pollachi junction .. one of the famous tourist spot in Chennai
One of the serene railway station I have ever seen. Not much of modern amenities but the climate and the tranquillity of this place is great. Consists three platform, surrounded by trees. Behold the beauty of the coconut trees opposite to this junction, which may be a rare scene in other junctions. Not equipped with escalator or lift, it has a big and lengthy ramp, helps senior citizens and disable to reach platforms. One or two small VRR shops are available in platform, which may not satisfy snacks lovers. Big parking place, but without shelter to save vehicles from scorching sun. Bus facilities are available to Pollachi bus stand.
Its good with surrounding nature.
Pollachi railway station was built by British Government on 1850. it was coming under Palakkad railway division. Many trains connecting to this station through Coimbatore and Palani. The platforms are very clean and the station is little away from town. So its very calm and Beautiful.

A small junction od the beautiful town , premises are well cleaned, superfast trains usually stops here for crossing and sometimes it took 1 to 2 hours for crossing.
Nice railway station.. But all getting damaged by the casual attitude of local and passengers, theft of assets too a problem.public involment much more required to make it the best.
The crane was initially used in Madurai but was shifted to Pollachi in the early 1980s, where it was used till 2008, when broad gauge conversion began. At present, only mechanical cranes are being used in Pollachi, an official explained. In the last phase of broad gauge conversion, the Dindigul-Pollachi-Podanur-Palakkad section became an isolated meter gauge section, when ‘Rajarajan’ was used extensively in Dindigul to remove coaches for transportation between Pollachi and the Golden Rock Railway Workshop in Ponmalai, Ti

For kinathukidavu, palakad, Coimbatore, Udumalpet,Palani its the cheapest and best mode of transportation. It has a reservation counter!! Parking area is somewhat ok! As its not a main station so the facilities are not in high state! Simply the station located here is not for a name sake but for a reasonable cause Pollachi junction plays a major role!
