The food was really good when my table finally got it.. the wait was about 50 minutes after we got seated. As of 10/9/21, there is only one person acting as both server and hostess :(

I really wanted to like this place, as the owners seem very hardworking and nice. Though I was ready to pay a bit more for authentic Korean food, I was very surprised to find that one entree (spicy stir-fried pork) was $21 or something ridiculous. When I asked if it was normally shared, the owner said it was one serving for one person. The portion was decent even for 2 people, but I expected it to be delicious for $21 and it was very average. Syrupy sweet and there were random vegetables tossed in. Actually, it tasted exactly like Chinese takeout, but much spicier. Perhaps I picked the wrong thing to order off the menu. The banchan was delicious, but portions were tiny compared to other Korean places and they only gave us 3 dishes. Extra rice was $3 a bowl and the bowls are tiny as well. Also, they don’t give you cups of water. You have to pay $1.50 for bottled water. And since most dishes are spicy, you’ll see everyone around you doing that. We spent over $20 per person even after sharing the entree, had to stay almost 2 hours in the restaurant because service was slow, and left feeling pretty dissatisfied.

Took a long time for food to arrive. However, we ordered a lot and it was very good quality. The food was not Americanized and definitely a great experience.I would like to see more pictures in their menu and descriptions as it was a bit of a mystery for non experienced people to order.I would gladly order again

Delicious food and prepared well. The seafood pancake was an amazing way to start the meal off.I only give four stars because the prices just seem much too high for whats being served.Cant tell if theyve just got a cornered market for Korean food or what, but the prices seemed maybe 1.5x what they shouldve been. The food was still wonderful, but it sadly couldnt be considered a regular go to because Im not that much of a baller 😅🤣

Located in a raunchy neighborhood with limited street parking. Took us a few circles around the neighborhood until a space opened up.Privately owned and run. Just wish they spoke and understood better English as it was a little troublesome asking questions and staff not understanding. Makes it uncomfortable on both our parts. We had the table service where you cook your own food. As it turned out, they kept returning and cooked our food. Some of the sides that comes with the meal was not the tastiest. Kimchee was spicy but good and the main course of bulgogi was tender and sauce was juicy and marinated perfectly.Prices are higher but worth it!

My Korean friend took me to this place, and before this I had never tasted authentic Korean food. The food was actual not bad, this place would have gotten 3 or even 4 stars if it wasn’t for the horrendous service. We walked in and they were not busy at all, but they shoved us on a small corner table just in case more people would come in. When the food came, the woman snapped at us to use the paper mat. It was just floored by her rudeness. Then the banghchan, or the little side dishes, there were only 2. I’ve never been to a place that is so stingy. Especially for dinner. Imagine going to an Italian place and they gave you one slice of bread for the whole table. I mean, their prices are not exactly cheap, bot sure why they find the need to do that. For the bibimbop, the male waiter came by and snatched the bottle of hot sauce when I wasn’t even done. Lastly, they completely forgot the jajjeumuen order. I recommend only getting take out, otherwise get ready to be mistreated.

Its my first time trying Korean food. I got Bibimbap and a side of Kimchi. I was a bit hesitant because Im a picky eater and my taste buds are aggressively American. Everyone says Kimchi is an acquired taste so I wasnt sure if I would like it. But I want to eat healthier so I gave it a try. And it was delicious!! The meat was tender and flavorful. The sauce was tasty and not overwhelming. The rice was cooked to perfection. All of the veggies were so good. I would 100% recommend.

Authentic and super yummy perfectly describe Korea garden restaurant. as a service member, I lived in South Korea for 1 year and I can attest to authenticity. The kimchi is made in-house as well as the sausage. absolutely superb. As for other reviews had commented on serving portions, I disagree. They are absolutely adequate for the price, particularly considering the freshness and authenticity. Good luck finding Korean food this good anywhere within a 5-mile radius.

This is the best Korean restaurant in Pittsburgh. I searched for a long time when I moved here from NY.The food is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. It’s family owned and the food has homemade appeal. Portions are also generous. I recommend the pork belly and the soon du boo jigae. I live about 30 miles from town now but still drive out there whenever the craving hits.

Food PoisoningDo not risk your own health over foods.4 people got food poisoned on 10 March after eating their take out foods with serious symptoms of non stop diarrhea, dehydration and vomiting over night. I also found a review saying that other customer had same issue after having their take out foods on the same day. God knows how many people got sick on that day.We tried two urgent cares but they did not take us because of the current situation. It is not the first time this happened to us and turns out many of my friends had same experience over the years. But this one was the worst and horrifying experience since you can’t see the doctors.Do not take a risk and try their foods. The owner is very unknowledgeable about food safety or hygiene and does not know what he is doing to people.(or does not care.)He should stop feeding people immediately otherwise people can seriously get sick to death. Food safety is not a joke.I am writing this review to protect people from getting sick during this risky situation. Stay away from here and be healthy and safe. And please speak up yourself to protect others if you had same problem.

This was the worst Korean restaurant we’ve ever been to. Not only the service is catastrophic, the food is nothing special at all. Ordered bibimbap and were disappointed, only a teaspoonful of cooked minced beef was served.Staff were ignorant and rude. They also include 18% gratuity, huge one for such a poor service. Definitely not coming back. Don’t recommend this restaurant and service. Would give zero points if this was possible.

First, we waited for more than 30minutes to get our food (despite only 1 other table with customer). Second, the sesame chicken came with meat not fully cooked, like literally the meat was still red. Third, the bibimbap came with just about a tablespoon of shredded beef (definitely not worth $16!). They charged $5 extra when I asked for a little bit more of shredded beef. Fourth, they forced 18% gratuity on us because we were five, despite two were just kids (a one year old and a three year old). It used to be good but not anymore. Definitely not coming back.

When you go to a korean restaurant, the staff actually being korean is a good first sign. Other Pittsburgh korean restaurants can be very white-washed and inauthentic, with Americanized korean food that tastes bland, greasy, dry, or just nothing like korean food.Korean garden restaurant is small and tidy, warm, clean, and all the food is authentic, served hot and fresh, and the range of flavors is astonishing. The staff is so kind, bilingual in korean and English fluently in case you’re a korea native looking for a comfortable familiar vibe and a little slice of homeWait times are short, food is amazing, atmosphere is great.진짜 맛있어요 💕

One of the rare places in Pittsburgh where you can have Korean Chinese foods (which sounds weird. But such a thing exists anyway). Especially, when you miss 짜장면, go this place. You will be able to have prototypical 짜장면. Btw, Prototypical in this context is very positive, rather than negative.

A restaurant can be forgiven for having a poor location, a lackluster atmosphere, or tasteless food if it excels in the other two categories. Sadly this restaurant misses the mark on all three. Parking was a 10 minute ordeal on a Wednesday night. The interior decoration is completely lacking and the food was quite disappointing. The bebimbab was void of flavor; even with a copious serving of hot sauce. An order of traditional pancakes were a little better but extremely oily.Sadly, I have to say that Korea Garden swung and missed three times, and now theyre out.

I am from out of town and visited this place for the first time yesterday. I had a VERY bad experience at Green pepper (another Korean restaurant around this area) which I had to walk out of that restaurant and ended up here. When I first walked into this restaurant, it was SO busy. I wasnt too thrilled because I was hungry and in a bad mood because of the experience at green pepper and didnt want to wait. But despite the craziness, we were greeted by the staff and was taken to a table right away. I watched as the two servers working SO hard. We got our food in a timely manner and the food was amazing as well. This place is very small and looks old but dont let the looks fool you. The food was amazing and the staff were so good as well. We made sure we left a great tip. If youre ever in this area, make sure you try them out. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO GREEN PEPPER RESTAURANT!

The food is overpriced. Couldve put more meat in bibimpub for the price paid. Our friend ordered bulgogi, they brought different item which costed more and didnt indicate it at the beginning. When we were surprised by the amount in the check they refused to minus that additional amount from it. We tried to talk to the manager (Korean couple) they dont speak any English and refused to talk to us. They told the waiter to charge us the total price even though we didnt know that this item was x2 more expensive. Such a bad customer service, we were truly shocked. I have been coming here for years. Traditionally, Korean restaurants always serve and refill the side dishes such as kimchi, seaweed... This restaurant stops refilling the side dishes At this time I am dining in. There are many nice restaurants out there for you to try for a less expensive cost.

RUN AWAY! Ridiculously awful and overpriced JUNK!THE worst restaurant I have ever been to!!! I dont know how those positive reviews come from, but Im sure the owner must spend a great deal of efforts on soliciting them.Food: as a person that has been to numerous Korean restaurants, the food is far below average and ridiculously over pricing. The BBQ, which I specifically asked for cooking by my self, was brought directly from Kitchen looking like a leftover from two days ago. The noodle looks like from the sink.Service: We were charged 18% tips on the bill. We have 4 adults and a 5 year old kid. No one told us upfront until listing it on the bill. Also, the communication was Sergio. The girl is nice, but cant communicate well if you dont speak Korean. As I said, we changed to the table with the stove and asked for cooking BBQ by ourself. They were still prepared by the kitchen. When I questioned, the girl still didnt get it.Overall, STAY AWAY from it, if you dont want to spend $30 and left the place half hungry and absolutely frustrated.Ruined our Sunday, seriously! I should give 0 star if it is an option.

They had a new special menu, and so I tried the yukgaejang (shredded beef stew) from it. It was excellent--very meaty, full of flavor, with nice and soft glass noodles. The stew was hot and spicy, and it feels great to eat this on a warm day (counterintuitive, but its a very Asian thing to do). We also got their seafood noodle stew (jjambbong), which is more of a Korean-Chinese dish, but equally rich and spicy with a more hand-pulled type of noodle. Definitely recommended!

My friends and I ordered Korean barbecue, but were extremely disappointed with the cost, quality and quantity of the food. We ordered beef and pork hoping to be able to cook the food as we were seated at a table that had a stovetop, but werent allowed to do so. On top of this, the food was completely lacking for the both of the dishes we ordered, which costed $30 each. The pork was severely overcooked and both the beef and pork were poor cuts of meat. The service was also unsatisfactory. After being disappointed with the kbbq, we asked for a check. Rather than giving us a check, the server continued to quite literally RUN through the restaurant. After waiting 20+ minutes for a check, the server informed us of a mandatory tip of 18% for parties of our size, which we didnt like but were fine with. The server actually put a mandatory 24% tip in our bill and wouldnt change it! I cant speak to the rest of the food at this place, but dont get kbbq here! My friends and I had to pay for a second dinner somewhere else because the kbbq here was so bad.
