Amazing restaurant, must come back to try other dishes. My fav was: The rainbow trout & the mussels cooked with garlic, parsley, butter. We also enjoyed the French onion soup, snails in garlic was good with side of fries that was tasty, & Steak was cooked perfectly 👌🏽 goat cheese salad was nice. Must leave space for the chocolate mousse.

Ambience - on par with a quaint Parisian cafe, albeit from the late 1990s. I understand the owner purchased the wall decor from Paris, but in what year? When things of equal magnitude can be purchased as prints at an art store, it is no longer unique.Service - our female server was friendly, but not above standard.Food - French Onion Soup, delicious. Garden salad- very light on the dressing.Scalloped potatoes - served luke warm and sloppily spooned into a bowl. Poor presentation.Biggest disappointment was the pork dish I had as an entree. Advertised as bone in. It arrived on a massive bowled platter and was boneless. The pork was horribly dry as if it was cooked yesterday and reheated. The bacon in the pork dish was leathery, definitely not cooked same day. The sauerkraut was bland. And the sausage.. come on... Are the chefs/owner not tasting food before its served? Or are we just reheating day old (or older) food? Because thats what it tastes like.Overall, two stars. They try. However, these prices are not living up to standard. Is the passion for French food gone or had COVID devastated the business and quality has horribly suffered while prices have been raised? No longer Pittsburghs best French restaurant. Not by a long shot.Update: As a response to the owner claiming a suspicious review: My dinner companion and I both left negative reviews after both being disappointed in our meals. Also, my meal total sans tip was $79.26 per my bank statement, screenshot attached. We dined the evening on 9/26. Is the owner going to claim a suspicious review but accept my payment in full? (Hint: yes, he is.)Also, claiming I didnt dine at his restaurant. Sad! Improve the food, cook it same day, and the owner wouldnt need to claim suspicious activity when the owner must be fully aware the restaurant is not offering quality food for the high price point based upon how defensive he clearly gets to negative reviews.

Absolutely love this place. It has a small, comfortable venue and a small but excellent menu. Im also pretty sure the menu changes regularly. Ive been twice in the past few years and was impressed both times. This last time I order the roast duck, it was cooked perfectly and the service was very friendly and attentive. Bear in mind, this is definitely and upscale establishment and prices reflect that. However, for the irregular occasion, this place is certainly worth the cost.Note: they have been experiencing staffing issues recently, so waits may be slightly longer than usual.

The Mrs and myself had been wanting to try this spot for quite some time. Last night was our lucky night. We where both quite impressed. The water, salad, app, main course, and the desert! Fantastic!Keep in mind, this is a small restaurant, so seating is a little tight. I believe that the owner was attempting to create a Paris feel, and I think he nailed it! The seating isnt bad, you will just be a little close is all. We didnt mind. They locally source as much ingredients as they can. You will be able to tell! The goat cheese is amazing! Trout was awesome, and the Lamb shank 👍.Did I mention the macaroons? Second to none in Pittsburgh! We will absolutely return!Want a good date night? This is a good pick!

Me and my wife stopped in for a late dinner they were more than happy to accommodate us. We both ordered the steak tartare frites. We each received a very generous portion, which was delicious. For dessert I ordered what was definitely the best Creme Brule I have had some time. I included a picture of the owner( who was an exceptionally awesome individual) making Crêpes Suzette for another table, it had such a remarkable presentation that I had to include it. Overall excellent experience, will be back.

The ambiance was fine, servers were good, drinks were good, but the food was just not up to par with the price. Nothing here was bad, so I dont want you to think that our group had a bad meal, but I get lamb shank whenever I can, and for a lamb shank that is a la carte with a high price tag, I have high expectations for tenderness, sauce, and overall taste. It just didnt meet those expectations.

It is a quaint little restaurant with excellent service. During my visit, however, I was disappointed in the food. I had a reservation for right after the restaurant opened on a weekday and was the only diner in the bistro for most of my meal.I started my meal with the escargot. I love anything with garlic and butter, but the escargot were flavorless and all I could taste was waterlogged parsley without a hint of garlic or butter. The French bread accompanying it was incredible though. For my entree, I had the roasted duck with a cherry glaze. The duck was incredibly dry and the skin was hard as opposed to crispy. It made me wonder if, due to my early arrival, I had received a duck cooked the day before. The wing was as hard as a rock and inedible. The pomme fritters were excellent as was the aioli that accompanied them. The chocolate mousse for dessert was light and airy and incredible!I guess you could say it was hit and miss with with the less expensive elements being hits and the more expensive elements being misses. It was a nice experience, but the food was not commensurate with the prices.

While the atmosphere was good, my experience was ruined by the long wait time and the lack of accommodation from the manager. After an hour and a half, my entree still hadn’t arrived and I didn’t even order a main entree. When I brought this up to the manager, he said that’s normal and that I should have to wait this long because “this is how French restaurants work.” He showed no care or concern and he didn’t even offer even the smallest gesture of courtesy nor did he take accountability or comp a dessert or drink to make my experience better. I left without paying for the dishes that we’re not ready and I certainly won’t come back. I think our meals were actually forgotten.People who arrived later than us had their food!We came a long way to eat here and we dressed up and paid for parking.

Made a reservation well in advance for Mother’s Day weekend and the restaurant calls me the day of to cancel for being understaffed, with the excuse “every restaurant in Pittsburgh is dealing with this,” which I don’t doubt is true, but every restaurant in Pittsburgh isn’t waiting until six hours before a reservation to cancel. My mom came all the way from Florida to visit for Mother’s Day, specifically wanting French food, and now I have nowhere nice to take her because everything is booked. I am so upset and I will never try to come here again.

Went there for my wife’s birthday. Read reviews and thought this would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Started out fine. Appetizers were served and they were delicious. Then we had our main course which consisted of a pork dish and duck. My wife loves duck so I was pleased it was on the menu. Everything is also carte so not only was the food overpriced but you got nothing with it. I knew it would be expensive and I don’t mind paying it if the food is good. That being said when we received our meals mine was just ok but my wife was so disappointed. The duck was overcooked and dry. The glaze that was on it was just blooped on top and the whole dish was just luke warm. When we mentioned it to the waitress she apologized and walked away. No one ever acknowledged our grievances and we left paying a large tab for food that was definitely not worth it. Save your money, they evidently don’t care if their customers are happy or not. So disappointed because I really wanted to make this a happy birthday for my wife.

My favorite places to brunch in Pittsburgh. The owners are actually French, so the service and food is very authentic. My husband is French, and we love that the waiters either speak French or have been trained to properly pronounce the names. The inside also reminds us of Paris. My favorite is anything with salmon and crème fraîche or their bread basket!! The bread is some of the most authentic that I’ve had outside of France. Amazing and delicious all around.

Easily the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. After waiting an hour for our food, most of our dishes arrived cold. Our waitress promised to bring over the manager (who is also the owner) so that we could inform him that this was the case and hopefully correct it in the future for other customers. When the owner arrived at our table, his demeanor was incredibly combative. My fiance informed him that our food was cold and he dismissively stated that he doesnt use heat lamps and to deal with it. When she pressed the issue further and attempted to explain that serving cold filet mignon at $40 is unacceptable, he began to talk over her. At one point, he mimicked her accent and put his hands on his hips in an attempt to demean and embarrass her.We continued to exchange verbal insults with each other as we paid our way out, spending several hundred dollars on cold food delivered by an egotistical child. His own employees took notice and were appreciative of us speaking up. One of the individuals came out and give us fist bumps for what we said and exclaimed that it was awesome and that he was a horrible person.Thankfully, my fiance can find happiness in anything and the owner didnt ruin her 31st birthday. This will become a hilarious tale for us to repeat.

Food was hardly exceptional for the most part, decent, but undersized, but the real problem is whats going on behind the scenes. After my family and I ate our meal I went to use the mens room. One of the only 2 cooks was in the single person bathroom for 15 minutes with the door locked, doing God knows what because he sure didnt wash his hands afterwards. This is based off of the fact that when I went in directly afterwards the sink was dry and there wasnt a single paper towel in the waste basket.Walking by him I said, Wow, what was going on in there! Not in a mean way, but as a joking comment. A nearby two-top table heard me say this and chuckled because they noticed he was taking his time in there too.Still, no harm, no foul though. Yet as I pushed my disabled wife out of the restaurant in her wheelchair I could feel the cook staring me down with a hateful glare... probably because he was high on the drugs he took in the bathroom.. that would be better than him not washing his hands after using the toilet I guess (?)When I glanced up at him and made eye contact he muttered some hateful curses at me. I asked him calmly what the problem was and he threatened me saying, I better keep walking. ..Wow...Of course I asked who his boss was, but he wouldnt tell me. Him and the other cook told me hes his own boss, and he told me I better watch out. This place is small, so I took a couple steps and I asked the girl at the entrance of the Bistro for the owners number, Frédéric Rongier, the owner and founder of the restaurant, who was a few steps away.I explained the disrespectful and threatening attitude of his cook, and while Frédéric Rongier seemed half interested in my concern, he seemed more inclined to give me his business card and told me to call his cell-phone to settle this problem instead of than to handle it right there with the cook present.Completely unbelievable, beware when you eat here. You never know whats going on with the people handling your food. Yuck. STAY AWAY. Ill update if I get sick!

The ambiance in Paris 66 is very soft and intimate, perfect for date night. Cocktails were ordered with a bottle of sparkling water while we looked over the menu. The menu has something for everyone. We couldnt wait to try the escargot and mussels with Roquefort butter sauce. Both were amazing! I had the braised lamb shank and my companion ordered the filet mignon both were perfect. They have a nice win list also. Then came desert, chocolate mousse and crepe suzette. Both were good but the crepes were out of this world. Done tableside by Frederique who was very engaging. Try a cup of the Cafe 66, it was a great compliment to the desert. I also ordered a dozen macaroons that are made by Frederiques wife at her pastry shop. Also amazing. I highly recommend this place. The restaurant is really cute, the staff is exceptional, the food was why I am only giving it 3 stars. I have never eaten at a French Bistro before but I was amazed at how bland the food is. We got the lamb which was cooked to perfection, so tender and no flavor, whipped carrots also had no taste, the whipped potatoes at least had a little bit of flavor. No salt or pepper on the tables which I found strange. I ordered the escargot for my appetizer, which I have had before and enjoyed it, was advertised as being in garlic butter & parsley. You could not taste the garlic & there was way to much parsley in it. Dessert was good, so was the martini. I had been looking forward to our Easter brunch all week since I made the reservations needless to say after paying a 139.00 bill & a 20% tip we will not be going back.
