Ordered chicken biriyani and samosa. Loved the chicken biriyani, the reason for 4 stars instead if 5, there werent a fair amount of chicken in the biriyani compared to the proportion of rice. The Raita was good and a decent amount. The samosas were also good. We recommend this place.

We ate here last night. They were clearly overwhelmed by the crowd and struggled to get food out correctly and on-time. That being said, the food was awesome, and they were very nice in trying to resolve the service issues. Prices were a bit high, but the quality was awesome. We will definitely be back.

My family is vegetarian, and loves Indian food - no complaints here. The food is tasty AND attractively presented. Most recently we were there late and surprised to see we were one of the only people there - but they do seem to do a brisk business earlier, fortunately. We used to love Star of India (which used to occupy this space - not sure if ownership changed or what), and I think this is a worthy sequel.

This is my favourite restaurant in all of Pittsburgh; the menu is varied, the service is great, and the lamb is particularly excellent (normally, that is - Ive had two experiences when the meat here has been less than ok, but normally it is great). Their sauces are perfect, neither dry nor thin. Note that their spiciness scale is not well adjusted to Caucasian taste buds, so if you normally prefer medium spiciness, you will want to order mild. The restaurant was previously called Star of India, but was renovated and took a new name.

This place severed me lots of soup in my food, a few pieces of meat flaoating on the soup. The rice was one scoup and the salad was soaked with lamb stew because it was all served in one container. They overcharged me for this amount of food. Im suggesting you dont go there at all🙄....

I went there for lunch with my family. The butter chicken was phenomenal. However, the serving size was shockingly small. half the plate was rice, salad with Italian dressing, and some sort of curry that wasnt anything special. If there was twice the amount of butter chicken, I would feel perfectly happy.

I placed an order to go online through provided website. I placed an order because this place was the nearest on my way back to Ohio. After 15 minutes drive I went there to realize they didnt prepare the food. I was told they had the online order but they didnt know what I ordered. So why dont you call back? Or fix the online ordering system. Store still had about an hour to close but it felt like they were about to close in few minutes. I had to wait extra and food was not good at all. I would say they used too much oil and naan bread was not bad but not great either.

Aj
Review №70

Very poor quality of food for the prices charged. The food is neither authentically Indian, nor is it good enough to pass off as Americanized Indian cuisine. The rice and rotis were stale, and the yogurt for the lassi had over-fermented leaving a nasty tang. The restaurant looks snazzy, but staff isnt great.

Not a typical Indian restaurant. Very small menu without most of the usual fare. The 2 step protein + sauce meal combo option literally gets you a small amount of meat/paneer/protein with a bunch of sauce and rice. No vegetables. And its expensive. Garlic naan had no real flavor. Samosas were pretty well done, dry. If you are trying Indian for the first time or if it is a favorite go-to for you then just be prepared for a different experience.

My wife and I went here because of the good reviews, but we were a bit disappointed. The food was reasonably good but not really better than any other Indian restaurant weve been to, the portions were small, and the prices were on the expensive side. The service was good, but overall I dont think Id come here again.

J
Review №88

I suppose they wanted the biriyani to match with the color of thier orange decor. Why would you serve a vinigerate lettuce salad with Indian food. Please cook your string beans fully, and chilly powder is not the only spice in Indian food. Underwhelming taste, quality(did not even use the right kind of rice for a biriyani) for unnecessarily expensive food. The only upside I saw are a convinicon location and a good rita.
