श्री गणेशाय नमःॐ गं गणपतये नमःमोरया गोसाईं महाराज की जयMorya Gosavi or Moraya Gosavi (Morayā Gosāvi) alias Moroba Gosavi was a prominent saint of the Hindu Ganapatya sect, which considers the elephant-faced god Ganesha as the Supreme Being. Morya Gosavi is considered the chief spiritual progenitor of the Ganapatyas and has been described as the most famous devotee of Ganesha. The lifetime of Morya Gosavi is speculated between the 13th to 17th century. Numerous legends recall his life. Morya became devoted to Ganesha when he started visiting the Morgaon temple of Ganesha. It is believed that due to the hindrance in Moryas services to the god in the popular Ganesha shrine, Ganesha told Morya that he would appear in Chinchwad for Morya to worship, so Morya moved from Morgaon to Chinchwad, where Morya built a Ganesha temple. Consequently, Morya took sanjeevan samadhi by burying himself alive in his tomb.Morya had a son called Chintamani, venerated as a living incarnation of Ganesha and addressed as Dev (god). Chintamani was succeeded by six more Devs. The tomb of Morya Gosavi and the Ganesha temple at Chinchwad still attract many Ganesha devotees.According to one version of the story, Morya was born in Bidar, Karnataka. He was thrown out of the house by his father as he was thought to be of no use to the family. Morya travelled to the Ganesha shrine at Morgaon – in neighbouring Maharashtra – where he found a liking to Ganesha. He settled at Chinchwad, 50 miles (80 km) away from Morgaon. Another story declares him to be a son of a poor but pious couple from Pune, Maharashtra. Morya is believed to have been born due to the grace of Ganesha, whom the childless couple propitiated. After the birth of Morya, the family moved to Pimple, 40 miles (64 km) away from Chinchwad. After the death of his parents, Morya moved to Tathavade, 2 miles (3.2 km) away from Chichwad. Both legends declare he visited the Morgaon temple regularly, daily or monthly to worship Ganesha.Another tale tells that Moryas parents, Bhat Shaligram and his wife moved to Morgaon from Bidar. His parents prayed to Ganesha at Morgaon. Soon, Morya was born to them. Later, Morya became seriously ill and was not recovering so they prayed to Ganesha again. Soon, a Gosavi (priest) named Nayan Bharati came and gave medicine to Morya, curing him. Nayan Bharati also preached to Morya. Henceforth, the Bhat family took the family name Gosavi and Morya was known as Morya Gosavi.
Very peaceful place. I went during corona, it was closed. So not clicked many photos.
The temple was built by this very renowned saint of the 13th century. He wa a devotee of Shri Ganesh & built this temple.this Ganpati Temple is located opposite to the Vaishno Mata temple in Chinchwad, As soon as you enter the temple you will find a peace which is very heartwarming. the temple is very neat and clean. must visit if you are nearby
This temple is located in the heart of Chinchwad city, PUNE on th bak og Pawana River. This temple is constructed year 1659 in black basalt stone.Shree morya gosavi who was a devotee of lord Ganesh. He took a Sanjeevan Samadhi at this location. There are many small temples attached to this main temple As a part of the ritual darshan sequence the devotee steps into the mandap of the Shriman Mahasadhu Moraya Gosavi Samadhi Mandir built by his son Chintamani Maharaj in 1658-59, the time when Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was active in these areas. In line with the east west orientation there are at least five samadhis of the descendants including that of the Mahasadhu or adopted torchbearers of the Deo family. With another five samadhis to the right i.e. north of this axis and another set of five smaller shrines to the south, a total of 15 samadhis are a part of the experience of visiting the place. There are two horizontal idols on the Samadhi of Shri Narayan Maharaj. There are many Samadhis on the bank of Pavana river, like the samadhis of Saptapurushas, Samadhi is of Dharanidhar Maharaj, Kaka Maharaj, Digambar Maharaj and Kamalakar Maharaj. There is a Vrindavan of Moroba Maharaj on the upper part of above mentioned area. Samadhis of Shri Moryaya Gasavi’s guru Nayanbharathi and Vighneshwar Maharaj (Aundhkar) are situated in Deool Mala area of temple. All the temples are constructed in stone.
Heard that this is the place from whereMoraya was added to Ganapati Bappa. And now we all say Ganapati Bappa Moraya.

The Ancient Temple Of Shree Lord Ganesha & his One Of The Great Devotee Shri Morya Gosavi whose took Samadhi here in Devotion of Shree Lord Ganesha
Discovered this temple purely by chance. Mom and I were looking for a Nataraja figurine and Google recommended that this temple might have one. The name sparked curiosity and upon some research online, it emerged that the medieval personage whose samadhi (resting place) marks this temple is the other half of the chant - Ganapati Bappa Morya. Maharashtrians continue to take his name along with that of Ganesha and this entwining of names is interesting for history buffs regardless of your affiliation with religion.Located in a little road in Chinchwad (in Pimpri-Chinchwad) near Pune, the temple is fairly large-sized for a Sant whose name whilst large in these parts is still not a marquee one in the annals of Maharashtra, let alone India. The Pawana River flows right behind the temple and is a much better sight (especially post-monsoon) than the Mulas and Muthas of present-day Pune. Getting to the banks behind the temple may not be straightforward as it was cordoned off. We didnt have the time to try any other approach. The Sthala Vruksham (Tree of the Temple) is set in a quiet courtyard. Overall, the temple has an unhurried air despite being located in the heart of Chinchwad. I wished the temple offered some information in Hindi/English for visitors coming from outside Maharashtra. When the personage is partly historical, it always adds to the experience when one knows the full narrative and interesting facts.
Very Nice place 😊 And after every visit its feel blessed by Bappa 🙏🏻😇💖Really Fresh place 😊 And you can easily find piece of mind at this place 😊😊 Keep blessed all the life Bappa 🙏🏻😇❤️
Auspicious temple of lord Ganesha.Neat and clean. On Chaturthi you will see gathering (mela) here which is interesting specially for kids and ladies for shopping. Many religious programs takes place throughout the year.Only issue is car parking, which you need to to at a long distance, so slightly difficult for senior citizens to walk a distance as well as the steps are steep for senior citizens, but thats fine.remember that no wheel chair access available in temple, so persons needing wheel chair avoid going here.
It is very cool place.
Very peaceful, calm and well maintained ganesh temple. It is at the side of a river. The temple is historic. One must visit here to find peace. There is also samadhi of morya gosavi maharaj. Good Place of Ganpati Bappa! The river is behind the temple and silent atmosphere. Anyone can fill the relaxation in the temple and enjoy the atmosphere.
We went to this garden right next to the Mandir and it was really really nice. It had a play area for children, an open gym which I had never seen before (some really good machinery and an awesome workout place if you wanted to do that), a skating rink where children were learning and enjoying skating, a lovely pathway along side the river with a beautiful sunset view. The garden also has life size replicas of animals, you can take a picture with.

Nice place to visit
Great pray place.. Temple of lord siva and ganesha. ❤
Holy Ganpati mandir located at busy city area of Chinchwad near Chapekar Chowk. Morya gosawi is a Daivat for the localities. Daivat is the holy God trusted by the locals for its blessings.Temple is accompanied by the garden developed by municipal corporation. This garden is a go to place for weekends. Loved by the children for the big play area. The animal replicas which are placed inside the garden. This garden boasts the skating rink and the lake view as well.In all this place is a must visit attraction if you happen to be in Chinchwad.
Very old Ganpati temple. Very clean and well maintained. But the river near the temple was full of water hyacinth when I visited there. The man at the temple said its because of the waste water discharge from some of the industries in the upstream. The municipality authorities must do something about this. Its a bad impact on the ecosystem.
