Calm quiet place to reflect on subtle but elusive workings of the mind.Has a set schedule with meditation slots and daily chores with the fellow meditators and Anagarika s.Here they follow the Thai tradition taught by Venerable Monks called Ajhan (or teachers).Ajahn is a title given after about a 10 year long hard training in Thailand.I feel the Dhamma discussed here is influenced by ideologies of Western Venerables. Although its a place of Theravadha tradition, the Pure Dhamma in the scriptures (Triptaka/Attakatha) taught in Sri Lankan or Burmese Monastries is not available here.But nevertheless a very friendly, warm and conducive environment to meditate.
Amazing peaceful location. Great accessible website that offers many Dhamma talks. Fortunate to have a Thai Forest Sangha so close to Ottawa.
I live in Thailand, hope to visit this place.
A wonderful refuge with a great vibe! A treasure in Southern Ontario. An authentic place that will strengthen your practice. No need to fly halfway around the world to access profound teachings and spiritual guidance.
Came to visit this Buddhist Monastery a few days ago while we were visiting Perth, On. This Monastery is within approx 150 acres of natural habitat. Very beautiful n serene.
Great Thai Forest Monastery with a calming atmosphere and very friendly monks and my favourite Abbot. Situated in the middle of a forest, it is very nicely setup for calm meditation time away from home. Weekly dhamma talks on Saturdays, and a great selection of books available as free for distribution, so that you can bring them home to continue your learning and experience at home.
A haven of peace. Each time I visit the monastery I am amazed at the simplicity, service and camaraderie of the monks. The Buddhas words have travelled far. And my heart is filled with gratitude. May this wonderful community serve the people for eons and and support them through lifes travails.
A very serene place, filled with open hearted and dedicated followers. Taste lack of insanity (;
A refuge suitable for cultivating the skill of keeping things real. You come to your senses at this place.
Its nice to be around the kind of minfullness thats there.
