Four in the party at lunch time on Saturday with a table reserved and probably just as well as it did get busy. It does have a French vibe, the three waitresses that served us did a great job of seating us and getting drinks and the food order promptly. We sat inside but there is seating outside if you are brave enough. We ordered daily specials and items from the set menu and all were tasty, fulsome and timely. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it if French food is desired.

Perth is well worth a visit. Magnificent architecture and scenery.Café Tabou was a great find right in the centre of town. Cocktails in the sunshine followed by a delicious seafood platter to share. Service was exemplary. Petit Chablis excellent.I recommend you book as it is one of the few restaurants and was busy early evening.Perth seems to go to sleep before 9pm!!
We visited a couple of weeks ago as a spontaneous celebration, and we’re glad we did!Lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a packed menu (both food and cocktails.)We’ll certainly need to visit a few more times to try more of the great looking food and drink they have to offer. Reasonably prices for the quality of food too.Heartily recommended!
Excellent lunch. Thoroughly recommend the seafood bisque. The duck breast was perfectly cooked, still pink inside, crisp skin. Finished off with rhe rustic chips with truffle salt. This is one of the best, relaxed restaurants in town.
Over the years we have been coming to Tabou we have seen changes but somethings remain consistent and that is service, food and value remain as high as ever.
Just so impressed with this place. Excellent Bistro style menu with good quality, well priced food and amazing service. Its the sort of place I would go to at any time of the day and for any informal occasion. Highly recommend

Melt in the Mouth French FoodParty of 4 all ordered fillet steaks, beef medallions & the rack of lamb - all of which was delicious (steaks were missing steamed greens).Coffees & dessert followed; the chocolate fondants were heavenly & worth the wait - the crêpe suzette was swimming in liqueur & was too much/alcoholic.Service got a little slow towards the end as we waited for the bill.

They did a great job of trying to keep people safe with the Covid restrictions, while still maintaining a nice atmosphere. The baguette was soft and perfect, and the food was tremendous. That was the best beef stroganoff that Ive ever had, and my friend loved her spruced up chicken salad. It was all wonderful! Would love to eat there again when I am next in town!

Stopped for a late breakfast while car was being MOTd. Eggs Benedict was one of the best Ive had. I ate outdoors next to the church and was treated to the bells. What with the French waiter and the sunlit square, I was transported to France. A much needed gallic experience after Covid and Brexit. Bravo.

Extraordinary food. Brilliant service. We had the seafood bisque, french onion soup, roast lamb and john dory, and all were fantastic. We particularly appreciated that the wine list included single glasses for all of the selections - this made pairing wines with courses much easier and much more fun. Without a doubt some of the best food to be had in Scotland.

I visited restaurant at 12:00 noon. I didn’t have booking, however the restaurant was absolutely empty (3 tables inside and one outside). I was traveling so I went there for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, I was told that there is no space for me as everything is booked. I asked if the waitress can check in the system if she has any table for 30-45 min for one person for lunch. She said she doesn’t need to check that because she know. She was incredibly rude and not hospitable at all. I asked if I can speak with the supervisor or store manager she again said with rude attitude that both are not present at the restaurant ( at 12:00 noon Tuesday 18.08). Then she asked what is my problem. Her behaviour was extremely bad. I when then for lunch to next door Cridos restaurant where I was very welcomed. I spend in the other restaurant 1h and I had a good view for the garden of yours restaurant which again was super empty! I feel extremely disappointed with the quality service and the whole situation. I hope that review will be noticed by the store manager. Outstanding food and service.
We were with our family for dinner today at Cafe Tabu. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were with a small child with allergies, they prepared a dish tailored to his needs. Delicious food. Im sure Cafe Tabu is one of the best restaurants in Perth
The food was really well cooked. Only slightly confusing element was the number of menus. I think I saw about 3 different ones in the same menu folder you are given. Each seem to have similar options with maybe one or two different dishes. The social distancing measures were alright, the clear screens felt limited and some tables were still rather close together
The staff are very attentive with extremely cool French accents. The steak is one of the best I have had. Lovely view of the church. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Used to go to this place a lot before the lockdown. Went in again today with high expectations but I found the food and service a bit disappointing. Service is slow and the Tuna salad has way too much salt and vinegar. I wasn’t informed at all the tuna would not be cooked thoroughly- it’s still pink in the middle. It might be the French way of cooking tuna. I had a whole pot of tea somewhere else after eating the extremely salty salad. In fact, I did not manage to eat much at all. Will not return in the future.

Had the chateaubriand for 2 . It was delicious and cooked exactly the way we like it. The service was excellent and had a great afternoon.
Love this place - the food is delicious. Has a classic French bistro feel to it. Its a lovely place for a cosy dinner with friends or family. Its not exactly a formal place, you dont need to dress up, it feels relaxed. Staff are great and very helpful.
Excellent food at a good price. Had the set menu. Duck liver pate and the fish of the day which was Coley. Nice French white wine at a reasonable price. 2 people with 2 courses with wine £60 well worth the money. Will definitely return.

An excellent experience in terms of the welcome and service. It was essentially a light lunch on a cold sleety day. I started with French Onion Soup with croutons which was a steaming delight. Then a croque monsieur, served with excellent chips and a fine salad. Fantastic! Then an espresso to finish and fortify me against the raw weather outside. All for a very reasonable price. No complaints whatevet.
Great French restaurant in Perth. They have a real gift for taking cheaper cuts of meat and fish and making them delicious and innovative. We had monkfish cheeks and lamb shoulder as main courses and started with mussels in a white wine sauce. Desert was apricot bread and butter pudding. Superb service and very reasonable prices.

My friend and I have been to Tabou many times. They have a great set menu. The cooks are French, so the food is great, not the usual British muck. You should also try Cardos in Perth. Both are excellent. Will be back to both definitely.

Lovely genuine French food. I loved the goats cheese starter and the pheasant in mustard sauce was delicious. Nice intimate atmosphere with outside dining if the weather is good.
Food was excellent, however this was spoilt by refusal of my Amex card despite Tabou clearly displaying the Amex sign and “Shop Small” promotion on their door. As we were entertaining a friend this was extremely embarrassing. I even pointed out that Tabou is listed on the Amex website, still it was refused! I will raise this with Amex and trading standards.
