This is the second time that Dindigul Thalappakatti has disappointed me. First time I thought it must be lockdown that could be the reason for the disappointment. However, this time we went to thalappakatti on ECR excitedly for Im a big fan of its mutton biryani. But this time, we were apprised of another kind of mutton bone biryani. The taste and smell, for which Thalappakatti is so famous for, was not up to the mark at all. I can understand the pressure of cost cutting but resorting to such tricks will make you loose your die hard fans.

Briyani and other dishes were fine, grill is good with puthina chutney. But restaurant space is small and not enough for crowded gang.

Less in quantity of meat (both chicken and mutton) in special biryani, and portion is rather filled with boiled eggs (2 for mutton special biryani).Taste was good, but nowhere as hyped.

Biryani restaurant located on ECR road right outside Puducherry main city area. The food is okayish. We ordered the prawn masala with their signature biryani. Both dishes were okayish though the biryani rice in itself had a very nice flavor to it.The staff was extremely courteous and prompt in getting our orders.Overall an Ok experience.

Biryani is nice, although some fried items are not freshly prepared, so they do not taste as good. Ambience is decent. But staff is not so good. The quantity served is not enough, so no value for money food.

Ac not working, half the things in the menu not available. Giving starter after main course. Taste ok.

I went to have lunch and i had been here earlier as well. Most items of the menu dont seem to be available. Which irritates people i hope the managment can be observant of such fine things that is required in a service industry.I asked the waiter and later manager, how was one supposed to eat the curry if your not going to provide rice which is listed and i was looking forward to eating it.The manager was proud to tell that, the rice is not available or served since last one year. If thats the case, then the owners and the managment must take note of changing the menu card and keeping only whats available. How much time does it take to update the menu? Serve what you show on your menu or remove that dish.In the end, did not eat anything here and walked out to another place nearby.How much time does it take to block out the dishes thats not going to available at the restaurant. Please a little more interest in small details, hygiene and so on.If you were a stand alone, small restaurant i can understand, you are a big chain and easily take care of such things, provide what you have in your menu or change your menu to show the real items.

Not so good compared to other thalapakatti outlets

Small area. Not so spacious compere to other branches. Okay as usually closed sharp 10 pm dont go after 9 pm

I had chicken biryani at this branch yesterday, the biryani was good but few chicken pieces were not good. I wish they hadnt used old chicken.

Dishes are little spicy. Spicy lovers can reach

I like there mushroom biryani. They have all sorts of Biryanis. And its worth trying each one of them.

I usually have mushroom biriyani from auroville branch and that is nice. Wheat paratha and mushroom gravy was also nice. Our friends and family had thalapakkatti chicken biriyani and that is also good. Its all a bit costly. Otherwise things are good.

Takeaways are way too less quantity. Bought a biriyani and got it in a paper ice cream cup kinda container. Next time bought a jumbo which was supposed to serve 3 but did not even serve 2 normal eaters. Good quality does make sense with the quantity. Its now a never go again restaurant.

Not worth for the price.For 300 rupees mutton briyani served is very less and we get only few small mutton pieces.Restaurant is not spacious ,no ac and they didnt on the fan while i was visiting.overall for 295 mutton briyani is not worth quantity wose as well as taste wise.
