One of the oldest traditional durgapuja of Hooghly district was started by Sri Madon Mohan Tarkalonkar in the middle of the 17th century....the puja is performed in boudhya-tantrik mot that means a combination of Buddhism and Tantra....Naroboli was performed at mid-night of Saptami or Astomi at the end of Ardhoratri puja....Naroboli protha is no more but a replica (putul) of human is cut at mid-night till now...(Photography is strictly prohibited at the time of boli and Ardhoratripuja) .....here u can see only two hands of Sri Sri মঠের মা ( mother Maa) ...rest of the hands are like fingers and those are hidden behind the shoulder.....Vog is very simple ....vaat, dal , chachi kumro , mocha , kachur saak , chaltar chatni , payes are given as Maa told to give in sopnadesh ....It is said that Maa told in Sopnadesh that She dont want much...and she will eat only with two hands but not with ten hands...Bisorjon is compulsory in dasomi ....and Maa goes to Balagarh Ghat (aprox 3.5 km from here) on shoulder of beyaras till now....Temple is mainly open at the time of Durga puja...Aaroti is performed 8 PM onwards in Soptomi Astomi and Nobomi....It is said that Sahityo Samrat Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyaya was somehow relative of this family....The family also got zamindari for few years from British at the end period of zamindari protha....
