The receptionist/scheduler kept me on the phone asking questions Ive never been asked before; how large is that company that you have your insurance with? and are you Hispanic or Latino? What race are you? As though this were necessary to schedule an exam. Heres the best part; she wanted to triage my injury on the phone. Zero medical training. It was more important to discern whether I actually knew what was going on in my knee, than to just schedule me an exam, and argued with me as to whether I should get X-rays or not first.

Virtually impossible to get a straight answer from anyone. My daughter has been out of school for a month, waiting for a very necessary prescription to be filled. The prescription delivery has been delayed twice due to changes being made by the prescribing office without them ever enlightening me as to what is transpiring. Phones always busy, messages rarely returned. With the exception of a few rotten doctors (Im looking at you, doctor who spent 20 minutes lecturing my fit NINE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER on her weight when we came in for asthma issues), the physician staff is alright. The office staff in each specialty office Ive entered has a communal chip on their shoulder. Horrible, uncaring, unsympathetic attitudes and audible eye rolling. Get your mess together. The nurse, or nurse assistant was fairly rude and dismissive toward me. The doc I saw was great, however. I realize RN and nursing assistants are in high demand and they are perhaps overworked, but they really should consider they are dealing with people in pain/discomfort and the last thing they need is for someone to be dismissive or rude toward them. Customer service is an important function for many jobs, those included. If they dislike dealing with people, perhaps theyre in the wrong career field.

Best set of doctors I have ever had. All of the offices communicate really well. I see a specialist for one thing and a general doctor for another, I needed labs for both and rather than having me come in 2 times they modified the requirements on my chart so the next time I come in for labs I can get everything done at once. They can all see the results from any tests as well so tests I have done for my specialist can be seen by my general practice doctor as well which means they simply have more information about my health. If you have other choices, I’d recommend someplace else. My wife went in with an issue. After X-ray found broken bone. Told to take ibuprofen and they’d have a referral for an orthopedic. In final paperwork had wrong hand. Left is not right. Let’s not have to repeat kindergarten. Also told if pain worsens to call back. 2 days later the pain was worse only at night making it difficult to sleep. Called back. After waiting the entire business day, decided to find out why they hadn’t called. On hold, finally their answer was the previous doctor hadn’t put anything in the notes about calling back if pain worsened. To be prescribed something stronger than ibuprofen you have to come back in to be seen by a different doctor. The rub...if they had returned the call right away in the morning and said come back in, we would have just gone to our primary care physician. Now the primary care doctors office is closed, no meds and another night without sleep. Communication is key, getting the correct appendage is key, putting things you say to your patients, under the further care section of the notes is key. Can’t get those things right and wasted a day of our time with no help or at least timely communication? We’ll go elsewhere.

I called the 87th Ave location and was able to get seen the same day by a provider at the 172nd Ave location. I saw Mr. Stephen Ahearn. I was very pleased with the visit I had with him and the level of care and attention he gave to the symptoms I was describing to him. It really felt like he was going to work with me to help figure out whats been going on. He has a really varied background and takes a scientific approach to diagnostics that starts with him just listening to what I was telling him and starting from the beginning. I then had to go across the hall (super convenient!) to get some lab work done. I pretty much have a phobia of needles, so went it feeling pretty worked up already. I had the phlebotomist, Tina, do my blood work and she did such an amazing job. Ive had terribly bad luck with blood draws before, with the phlebotomist not listening or caring about my fears or about the weird/unique techniques it takes to get blood from my arms. Tina was completely different. She was kind and patient and AWESOME at drawing blood. I literally told her she was an angel afterward haha. Would highly recommend TVC if you are looking for good healthcare in the Vancouver area.

Do NOT put your life or the life of a loved one in this clinics hands. They have the most disorganized systems and they lie to you. The doctor says they will refer you to a specialist; then after you call them a few days later to see why you havent heard anything, they say they are waiting on insurance; then you call insurance and find out that is not true. Then the clinic fesses up and says you are now in the queue to be referred, then they call back and say they are not referring you because it is not serious. Perhaps that was retaliation for demanding why things are taking so long? UNBELIEVABLE!!!

TVC is now saying that they are not taking any new patients with her insurance, unless I’m pregnant. If I were pregnant that could take my unborn child ( as a new patient) and all of my other children as well (so your taking patients) just not my daughter, who’s been seen there since she was a baby.I understand that we have to work to live. But it’s always such a slap in the face when you’re reminded that, at the end of the day, people don’t care about you, they just care about your money. When your advertising says how much you care. I am shocked and disappointed in Vancouver Clinic’s Urgent Care. I took my daughter in because she had had a fever for 4 days. She had a sore throat, her speech was impaired due to her inflamed throat and tonsils. Her entire right side hurt. Ear, neck, throat. We waited for over 2 hours. When we were finally called in, I told the nurse I wanted my daughter checked for strep. There were a few cases of strep I had heard about. She quickly swabbed her throat (daughter didn’t gag) and said doc would be in soon. The doctor was very dismissive to me, it was as if he just wanted me out as soon as possible. He came in and said she was negative for strep, she didn’t have ear infection, checked her over a bit and said it was just the flu and that with the flu it was normal to have a fever for up to 7 days. He seemed annoyed like I was one of those moms that brings her kid in for a sneeze. We left but I wasn’t satisfied. The next day I hugged my daughter and she told me I squeezed her bump on her neck. There was almost a golf ball sized bump under her ear on the neck. I called in and scheduled an appointment to the urgent care on 87th with a pediatrician. He checked her over and I asked to take another strep test. He looked in the system to make sure that it was negative before, to my absolute shock, he said there weren’t any cultures sent for a strep test!!! Did they not even do the test?! He came back with results and said she’s definitely positive for strep. As I type this up, my hands are shaking because the side effects of untreated strep are fatal. How dare they? I am not just disappointed, I am disgusted. Is this why innocent people and children are dying? Because of negligence??? The doctors name is Dr. Andersen. I won’t be going back there again.

I called them this morning, they stated they were still waiting and to call my insurance provider. I then called my insurance provider who gave me the authorization number and stated that my referral was approved. Upon calling the clinic back, I was told that they needed to hear it directly from the insurance provider, but refused to call them to verify. So I guess Im just stuck here in limbo until the clinic or the insurance company decide to contact one another.I will be looking for another location. On the positive side, the doctor was knowledgeable and friendly - no issues there.

While the attention I received from the doctor and the office staff at the Columbia Tech Center location was great, my labs were sent out to a laboratory not contracted with my insurance. While the Clinic might not be responsible for knowing which labs my insurance is and is not contracted with, I still got left with a bill for preventative care which should have been covered by my insurance. The billing office was incredibly unhelpful and seemed to think I should have magically known to request which lab the MD sent my tests to. I have been an adult handling my own medical care for 20 years and have never once had to investigate where my labs were processed when seeing an in-network provider. She claimed it was just constipation and barged out of the room shouting just go to imaging. When the images came back and it wasnt constipation she didnt even inform me of the test results. I ended up at the ER that day unnecessarily had to use the ER for tests/images that I could have had done at their urgent care if the doctor wasnt such a cranky pain in my side. I have never been treated so rude by any medical professional in my life and I wouldnt wish her wrath on anyone. I have an HRA with Anthem, I called Vancouver clinic on a Friday (due to my work schedule) to confirm Urgent Care was the same price as a week day visit and they said YES we bill just like a doctors visit. Which to me means I only pay 20% according to my insurance plan. My daughter, was sick as well, armed with this information we both went and were seen together. This was not true, the fact of the matter is it depends on who they have on staff, if your lucky you might see a nurse practitioner but we saw (without a choice or ability to make this decision) an ER doctor & he billed at ER rates, therefore I was billed for the entire amount without insurance coverage, instead I got the discounted negotiated rate. We were charged $464.00 to be told to wait it out you most likely have a cold or Flu. Ok, i can accept that, what I can not accept, is my Insurance company has told me to be more responsible for my costs by ensuring I ask the right questions & go to in network doctors. Since I was told it was regular doctors visit I did not think they would take over half of my savings from my HRA! I also was charged the other half of my savings for blood tests i didnt know were NOT covered when I went to see my primary care physician the previous week. Its April and we have blown through all of our HRA account at one Doctors office. How I ask am I to better manage my costs If I have no clue how much things cost & when I am missinformed by my doctors office? This is not taking care of people first, this is a business first!

My daughter got sick and I had to cancel my appointment 13hrs before the appt. They charged me $50 because it wasnt at least 24hrs. They just lost a sleep clinic client, physical therapy client, and I will be finding a new GP for myself and my family. In the end that $50 cost them thousands a year. Sad that this is how they have to make money.

Went in for a sleep apnea consult. The specialist asked me all the same questions that my primacy care had asked, and he got the same answers. He agreed that it sounded like I definitely had a bad case of sleep anea. We decided that I was going to do an in home sleep study to determine the course of treatment, and I was told that they would be calling me to set it up. They called one time and I missed the call. When I called back, I was left in hold music limbo for 15 minutes and never given the option to leave a message or directed to a website where I might be able to schedule something. I hung up thinking that they would probably call back. They did not. However, they did send me a notice that said they had tried to contact me and that they had not received a call back, and therefore would be closing my file if I didnt respond within 7 days of them sending out this notice. I called back today to let them know, and was told that her notes say they tried multiple times(which they did not). When I asked her to take my name out of their system and to notify her manager of this issue, she simply said that she would put a note in the system. Clearly they are not interested in serving anyone, which I find odd since we all know they get paid for these sleep studies and consults. Needless to say, I will not go back, and I will not be referring anyone. Pound sand TVC!

Everyone there is a joke. Between canceling apointments to get some scans and surgery on my girlfriends hand and causing PERMANENT damage to her hand on top of cancelling a high priority MRI to try to stuff more pills that wont work down her throat only to make her suffer through migraines and horrible headaches 5/7 days a week. I dont know how anyone there keeps their job, they dont do nothing but sit and gossip. PATHETIC!!!

I have been a patient at the VC for about 7 years. In those 7 years I have now had two very expensive and life threatening mistakes made by their Drs. My most recent was when Dr Mailhot left the clinic and I was assigned physicians Assistant Emily Brooks. She treated me like a lower level human the moment she walked in. I was there for a wellness visit to get perscriptions refilled. Prior to seeing her I had been in excellent health since my surgery in 2010 only needing to goto the clinic once per year for refills. I have asthma and extreme anxiety. I take xanex to reduce anxiety and manage my asthma. An asthma specialist put me on the xanex 12 years ago and it changed my asthma exacerbation and made my life comfortable and manageable. Emily Brooks was not having it treating me like someone regularly using heroin. She put me on a new med and told me to stop taking the xanex. Two days after stopping the xanex I had two Gran Mal seizures the same day two trips to ER in the hospital in an ambulance both time then 3 days in the hospital. Automatically lost my drivers license for 6 months per Washington state law even though I wasnt driving and have hit my $10000 max out of pocket deductible on my insurance after getting away with only paying my premiums and perscription costs. See the wise Mrs Brooks forgot to mention to slowly ween off the xanex or it could cause seizure despite my multiple efforts to contact her several times through MyChart. She never in 6 emails personally got back to me personally as Dr Mailhot did in the past. Instead I would here from her MA. Yesterday I got out of the hospital for a second stint of 2 days with severe uncontrolled anxiety and asthma exacerbation. Thanks for ruining seven years of healthy living Emily Brooks and completely turning back time to 13 years ago to uncontrolled anxiety and asthma. I called the customer relations team they called back to thank me for the information and how they would use it to improve services in the future. Well thank you for nothing. Emily Brooks is probably the worst almost Dr I have ever came across. She comes in looking at you like she just ate a mouthful of feces and it was your fault. Why choose a professional career that is helping people if you hate people. I take as few medications as I can to have a manageable productive life not to get high as she seems to imply. She has no place caring for people. My feelings about what happened to me this last month and in my life is if it aint broke dont fix it. I was in excellent health before this so called physicians assistant thought she could fix something that wasnt broken and completely flipped my life upside down in the process of trying to fix something that wasnt broken. I also fractured two vertebrae in my back during the seizures and was prescribed perscription strength Aleve. So I got to sit around almost pissing my pants Everytime I caughed or sneezed since the seizures. It really is all about revenue for the VC. If you have to go here heed my word and stay away from Emily Brooks but if your insurance allows it by all means avoid this clinic altogether. The Vancouver Clinic Drs in the hospital particularly Molly Daugherty is a close second to Emily Brooks. After reading my discharge not from the hospital its like she wrote notes on a completely different patient or wasnt listening to my wife and I at all during her visit. She even removed the pain meds I was on for my pain from back fractures saying there was no evidence of damage from my fall. Well maybe thats because I never had a fall I had Gran Mal seizures snapping my spine in two places. Had she read my notes or actually listened to me she may have caught on. Pathetic. The hospital staff was in much at awe as I was how many mistakes she made about me. One nurse reading my note actually asked if I was in fact Jason Webb as she was reading all the misinformation this Dr wrote. Again Pathetic. Good luck to all who venture into this house of revenue.

I have had experiences with Vancouver Clinic (TVC) for over 15 years and can describe them in one word - horrible. They will overcharge, under-serve, refuse to work with your insurance, even refuse to believe your own descriptions of your health issues. Example: I have a history of painful ovarian cysts on one ovary. I asked about a surgical removal. I was told that was not reasonable since I was so close to the age of menopause - I was 42. Example: my 7 yr old son had a genital rash. The doctor (whom my son did not know) wanted him to remove his underpants and when my son showed his discomfort by tearing up, the doctor grilled me about possible sexual abuse and suggested that he was going to turn us in! Example: our family had switched insurance companies. Somehow, they were able to bill through the old insurance but the new insurance had better terms as far as or costs. I called, gave them the new information, they looked on the website, and said that we werent covered with the new insurance at that time. They abjectly refused to call the new insurance to work this out. In fact, they were quite snotty about it all. Fortunately, the new insurance had no problem calling TVC to clear things up. Choose any other option over TVC if you have one.

Maybe its my bad for choosing this doctor. So I recently moved to Vancouver and looking in my insurance network I see several providers from the Vancouver clinic. I chose Emily Brooks since its a woman and I have good experiences having a female doctor in the past. I go, explain that English is my second language. I get attended. The front desk was nic3 and helpful, no complains. The nurse very nice and sincere. But the doctor...impatient. She wasnt listening, finishing my sentences, ordered a blood work and I said: I need to tell u other stuff from other conditions. She says: Oh I cant. Our time is up. Reschedule an appointment. Really?! Oh yeah sure. I bet I have to pay a ton for this visit. How am I suppose to trust this doctor? Im gonna get another one.

Re: Urgent CareI came in for a test, in which I needed to be done today or it would have been a problem, and had limited funds. Well, Im not a patient w/ this part if the clinic, so they werent going to be able to help me. Lateashea, the receptionist, didnt stop helping me with my situation. She gave me a number to call and when they were unable to help w/o me paying a lot, she got on the phone and found out a way to help me. The relief and gratitude I feel that she went out of her way to help me is undescribable. Thank you Leteasha!

So today is finally my last day ever working with vancouver clinic. I just want you all who are reading this to know that Ive tried for half my life to get the support and medical help I needed from vnc clinic and have been let down absolutely every time Ive gone to see any of the doctors there. Thursday last week I put in an order for lab work for a vitamin d test ordered from my surgeon at Providence. I gave his very legible peice of paper that asked for the blood work to be done and gave it to the horrendously rude lady at the lab dept(tech center suite 160) and she made me wait an hour before finally calling me to let me know she didnt have enough info from my Dr on the paper to do the test. I asked her why make,me wait an hour? She said she didnt get to look at the paper till now so she was supposed to call me on monday...its now Thursday so I thought Id call in. I called for answers today and was greeted by the most monstrous, life hating, receptionist from battle ground location who basically shut me down and said I was out of luck and to basically go to hell...no test, the paper is gone and I now have to go get another order form from my docs office at Cornell Rd in beaverton and I live in Salmon Creek vancouver washington. I have over 10 horror stories I could share from the Vancouver clinic...I wish I had enough tI me to share to help you avoid this place at all costs but I unfortunately dont. Even though its very convenient to go to the Vancouver clinic,I absolutely recommend going to a real hospital with real caring physicians.legacy has been very good so far..unfortunately they have to deal with so many issues I have never been able to resolve with my years spent at vsncouver clinic...god..they took so much time and money from me and never helped one of my issues..got a triple arthrodesis surgery at Providence and went through rehab and come to find out the bone graph didnt take so I went to get a second opinion from a Dr Lamy at Tech center location in podiatry. I made sure epic imagery sent my CT scan over so I would be sure I got every bit of info I needed..guess what?he didnt get it...so the appt was useless for all I needed to know was his opinion and the reason for whether I should get a bone graph or a fusion of my ankle for my second 17k useless surgery...so he said he would call me once the CT scan came in.he didnt..his assistant did...who then instructed me to come in to hear the verdict for a whopping 314 out of pocket for 10 minutes of King lamys advice..I asked repeatedly to be told over the phone or for him to talk directly to my Dr who had operased but I got nothing.314 in the hole for the first apt. That was the second to last horribly expensive waste of time at vnc clinic. I understand I have no one but myself to blAmerica from continually going to vnc clinic at all there locations to try out a ton of Drs and not changing up sooner when I came to this realization that Id never get the help I needed.I just hope this helps you. Go anywhere but vancouver clinic..please! You deserve to find a good healthy minded Dr who isnt driven by financial goals..entirely I would say..they all are at least a little driven by them..some of them will do there job though. Legacy will have to start half way through my life and help me combat a multitude of problems that have occumilated from seeking help from vnc clinics drs. Its hard to get over all this wasted time..this probably has, literally taken years of my life. I just hope all those docs I saw are met by karma at some point in there lives.

I was treated by Dr Andrew Sheppert for an infection that I had been fighting for a year. Several doctors had spent a lot of time and effort trying to remedy my problem to no avail. I am new to the area, and did some research on the internet in attempts to find a very good ENT. I hit the jackpot. I couldnt be happier with the care I received. His entire staff was wonderful. He prescribed a course of treatment that would take me a month to finish. As soon as I was done I received a detailed follow up call confirming the treatments success. A+ treatment, and I have a lot of ENT experience to compare it to. In fact, all the ENTs I have seen have been outstanding, but Andrew Sheppert has far and away been the best.Administratively the Vancouver Clinic has been great too. I never waited long for an appointment, and billing was smooth as can be. Every time I called my call was answered promptly and handled professionally. Good work people !

The Vancouver Clinic has the worst accounting/billing system EVER! They are unable to quote you what charges will be upfront for even something as simple as an office visit. Your payments will not be applied to what you think you are paying for, even if you itemize. You will find yourself being billed for up to 2 years afterwards for services provided. They will charge you the highest rates possible for every little thing possible. The stress you will encounter from their hostile billing practices will be enough to ruin your health. STAY AWAY!!!!! (We have never had this kind of problem with any other health care clinics)

An open letter to TCV:Recently I missed an appointment. I understood the policy of charging a fee for a missed appointment and completely accept that as fair and reasonable. However I received a letter in the mail today regarding my missed appointment that was completely offensive and unprofessional. The letter stated that if I missed 3 appointments in a 12 month rolling period for reasons that we do not find acceptable I will no longer be permitted to receive care from any TCV location. Im going to tell a couple things: It is not MY privilege to be your customer, it is your privilege to have ME as a customer. Your customers can choose to be with a company that values their business, you however can not exist without customers. Secondly, who are you to determine what is an acceptable reason for missing an appointment? Have you elected a Missed appointenet czar who will determine my fate based on their arbitrary judgement? Why I missed an appointment in frankly none of your business. I and I alone will determine whether I have something more important or not. Your arrogance in this statement only highlights your obtuse regard for customer service. At this point, I will most likely search for a new privider whom I believe values me as customer. Considering that you view my business as a annoying obligation, you probably wont care much about my departure. But maybe you will realize that you have lost site of the basics of growing a business which is that every customer should feel appreciated and serviced with respect, and you will redirect your policies to reflect those values.
