If you are in Hong Kong you must take a trip to Aberdeen Harbour to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant. It was opened in 1976 and it could certainly do with a bit of a refurbishment as it looks a bit run down in places. The food is Cantonese, Dim, Sun or Western so something for everyone. You get a great view of the harbour with the Chinese Junks moving about. Apparently stars like Tom Cruise and David Bowie have eaten here, so youd be in good company.

Loved it! Unique destination dining. You take a free boat ride across the marina to this massive floating restaurant. Its quintessentially an oriental artistic and architectural masterpiece. Opulent, vibrant and absolutely huge! The food is fabulous.Definitely a memory making dining experience!

Starting with the short trip by boat, the experience is interesting. Typical Chinese decoration, lots of tables big enough for families or group of friends. All dishes Chinese style, of course, some variety of beverages. Staff is nice but level of English is very low. There is a stage where visitors can take pictures dressed with old Chinese vests.

Great experience but the food was average mainly because the restaurant are serving hundreds of diners in one sitting. Stands to reason that the quality of the food isn’t going to be up to scratch.

To avoid the peak hour, you can enjoy the yum cha after 2pm.There are 2 piers in Aberdeen to take the ferry to this restaurant, and this is totally free! So make use of it to enjoy the sea breeze in Aberdeen, and thank me later!

This a a great experience if you plan on visiting Hong Kong. The outside of the restaurant is quite picturesque. So please take a moment to take photos etc. The food is delicious, affordable and the service is fast. Customer service is good for the most part. The staff members hovered over us though. Almost like rushing us to hurry and eat because there are more customers waiting. The drinks are served in very small glasses and cups. The food is served for groups just like any usual Chinese restaurant. In addition, you need to make a reservation if you plan to dine there. The views of the harbor is great. We went in the evening so we got to enjoy the views in the evening and in the night.IMPORTANT POINTYou have to take the ferry to access the floating restaurant. The Jumbo restaurant offer a free ferry to the restaurant. However, depending on which station you arrive at it may be far from the Jumbo restaurant ferry and will have to pay for ferry access to the restaurant. So please call ahead and ask which station is closest to the ferry.

Even though this is a restaurant frequented by tourists, it has many loyal local patrons. Dim sum is good and service is decent. We came early so we didnt run into tour groups. If you walk to the back, you can see the live seafood in tanks and tubs. Now thats fresh.

What a fantastic place to eat its not cheap but you will always remember eating here, remember you get a free boat trip to.You can dress up and have your photos taken.I have been here in 1985, 1998 and with my family in 2019.

Needs a bit of an overhaul to bring the place up to date. theres definitely better dim sum on dry land but the little boat trip to the jumbo from Aberdeen is relaxing making it worth while just puttering past the many state-of-the-arts superyachts anchored at the yacht club. food not hot or cheap and staff sloppy.

Seafood was very fresh, noodles we ordered were a little sticky and dry. Roasted pork was great. Service was not bad too, like what you would expect in a Chinese restaurant. Was expensive which was also expected. You would have to take a free ferry ride to the restaurant which is kind of cool. Was not crowded when we got there. There is also a guy taking souvenir pictures for you and you can purchase the pictures if you like.

I was looking forward to eating here as Id heard all about it. Dont believe the hype it wasnt all that, trying to order was difficult as not many people spoke English, also we were charged for things we thought were included. Boat ride to restaurant was OK

So. Much. Fun.Yes its a tourist trap and yes its overpriced, but we had loads of fun. We got dressed up in all the random stuff and had our pictures taken. Its all part of it!The service was good and super fast. It was tasty and we had no complaints.

A cool experience but def dont go for the food. I had a lot of trouble stomaching what they served and Im really not a picky eater. The interior is rather dated but the outside of the floating restaurant is pretty cool and you have lots of nice photo ops. The boat ride over was fun as well. Overall a good experience but Id sneak a protein bar in your purse or pocket.

This was an amazing experience. Had the opportunity to visit this place. You have to take a boat just to get to it. Which makes it all the more exclusive.There were amazing views and photo opportunities here. The food was super flavorful and you will just want to keep eating.The staff is very nice and helpful. As well as very attentive to your needs.I went with a group and they were very accommodating to us. So its definitely a great time alone or with a large group.I would say this is a must visit place if you are in the area.

The iconic floating restaurant... Yes, its a total tourist trap, but youd be happy to be here. From what I understand, the first two levels serves traditional Chinese dim sum and seafood, and the third level now offers Western cusines. The space has a grand palace luxurious feel. The food is actually very good. Very high quality food even compared to other good Hong Kong restaurants. You can pick out your own live seafood out in the back. The boat ride to and from the restaurant itself is a treat on its own.

A traditional and famous place for seafood and dim sum. As usual, the quality of the dim sum is good with attentive service. You might be surprised to see that the price is quite reasonable given that its popularity and interesting location.I would say feel free to give it a try if you want to enjoy the nice view.

I expected something a bit more special based on the videos Id seen prior to arriving in Hong Kong. Spent £164 on the set seafood menu for two people and bottle of house white wine. Good was great and service exceptional, just felt like I was paying for the location more than the food.

Loved this floating restaurant and it doesnt have to cost the earth. We didnt book, our Sampan driver suggested the Dim Sum menu and said it wasnt expensive so we took a chance. So glad we did. Had an outside table overlooking the bay in glorious weather. It cost us $500HK for 3 people to have a decent selection including puddings

Had a pretty good experience here, atmosphere was casual and relaxed. Great experience to travel by boat to the floating boat restaurant, my toddler loved it. Food was good as was the service. Seating was spacious and, unlike many restaurants in HK, no queue the night we went.

Definitely recommend dining at night so you can see the Jumbo Kingdom lit up in all its glory.Catching the ferry across is a cool novelty and only takes 5mins.The food was alright, but it does depend on what menu package you book but whichever one you get, be sure to taste the coconut cream pudding.

Always wanted to go ever since I was a child. The journey getting there was unique with the ferry ride to the floating restaurant. The dim sum however was quite disappointing, it might even be the worst dim sum I ever tasted. Mushy mushroom and chicken steam rice, oily shrimp dumplings, chewy chicken feet. The only thing I would recommend is the chicken wrap.

The food took a little while to come out but it was well worth it. Beautiful place, if your going check it out at night. you ride a small boat across the river to get to Jumbo. Simply beautiful.

Came here in 1980 whilst on a 18-30 holiday.If it is any where as good as then, would definitely recommend. Arrived by boat from north side of HK island. We had 12 course meal with evening entertainment including lion dance. Only thing that was missing was my camera. Unforgettable experience.

Been here a few times now, with parents are in town. Never disappoints. The price may be slightly overpriced, but the food is good and very traditional if you want to impress visitors. Scenic ferry ride and lights at night a bonus to get to the floating restaurant.

The staff were very rude. It was low season with very few customer (10 people maximum) and I asked if we could sit by the window to have a view of the water. I was told no because we were not with a party of 6 or more there was just 2 people. I could have understood if the place was packed out, but it wasnt. So unless you are going in a larger party you cant have a seat with a view out of the window whilst you have your meal. They lost my custom. But I dare say they are not bothered as people will always want to go as its a favourite tourist spot.My advice - you can go and have a look at the beautifully decorated hall, stairs and landings for nothing and just come away having seen these. There is a free boat to get there and come back from Victoria promenade.The female restrooms are clean and look well maintained.

I liked it. Dragons overall, a little 007-feeling. Ladies at entry very friendly and English speaking. Service staff low on English. A big bunch of tourist groups as guests. Meal was ok. Better for groups than for couples. Passing the marina was interesting.

The food isn’t particularly noteworthy. It’s not BAD, don’t get me wrong, but the food itself isn’t any better than what you can find on the Harbour side of the island, or Kowloon. But the setting is definitely different, and it’s a fun place to go with a group of friends.

Really, apart from its views, location and popularity, the food was decent.Food is decent, price is skyyyy highhh!We went there during the day, unfortunately it was raining, there is a free transport provided to go to the restaurant by boat (You cant walk there).Its like any might as well try kind of experience, since you dont get these type of floating restaurants in waters anywhere else - or at I have not in my case.Overall, give it a try - but dont expect too much.

A small boat ride takes you to the Jumbo floating restaurant, if you go to Aberdeen youre probably better heading to the cooked food market since this is a bit of a tourist trap.Fish courses were unbelievably expensive so could only really afford the dim sum which was average at best.

Its quite pricey and nothing special with the food. And their waiter is so annoying, we ordering some crab, as you know its take some time to eat it right, but they keep asking are we done with the food so they can clean the table and take the plate. We really cant enjoy our dinner and have to rush with time. Maybe you can try to enjoy your lunch or dinner on floating restaurant, just that.

This is the worlds largest floating restaurant and many famous Hollywood movies have been shot here.

Really good floating restaurant with great Chinese food / yumcha.It wasnt even expensive (perhaps we were elite in picking the more value items). As a comparison its no more expensive than the upmarket yum chas on the busy side of the HK Island.

Honestly easily one of the most amazing restaurants in Hong Kong not only for the food but also the atmosphere, history, and uniqueness of a floating restaurant. Prices are not cheap but you get a free boat ride from the “mainland”.

This place is a specticle, getting there by boat and greeted with Cantonese opulence from start to finish, the Peking Duck felt like a ceremony, I would say its a must just for the experiance.

Take a ferry to the restaurant. The place has 3 stories. The toilet is clean. Very good food. Recommended place to eat. But unfortunately, when we went there the jumbo signage prior taking the boat is under maintenance so a good clear picture was taken.

Food was surprisingly good, I fully expected it to just be for tourists and serve for a western palete. While the decor and atmosphere was touristy (not in a bad way) the food was authentic. Worth a visit!

Jumbo Floating is a beautiful floating restaurant in Aberdeen HongKong. They serve tasty meals and their services are also perfect. We ate few local dishes from this restaurant. Taste wise the food was authentic and fresh and everyone liked the food.

You dont really go to Jumbo for the dim sum. You go mostly for the experience of eating on a floating restaurant. The experience of eating on a impressively decorated and quite grand boat is pretty cool. But thats about it really

Had a very nice lunch. You can choose your own budget. They also have expensive food, but it is your choice. A lovely traditional atmosphere. Good service and a stunning view over the marina.

Stunning restraunt. So glad we stopped by. The waiter was very nice and helped us choose something we would like to eat. Would recommend this beautiful place.

Fried rice was good and the lamb chops were tasty. Not sure if it was my lack of Chinese language or what, but service was sub-par and the bartender apparently can’t make a martini dirty.. I even used google translate to ask if they could relay to the bartender to add a small amount of olive juice and they straight up just said “no”. Really strange.
